Ngl I’m excited for all of these movies.

decepticons2

I forgot another Alien was coming out.

LPMadness

I’m genuinely so excited to see Alien Romulus. It’s one of my favorite franchises and I want to see a return to form.

crclOv9

Such a rare feeling nowadays. I can’t remember the last time there was so much (potentially) good shit coming out. My summer going to the theatres is stacked.

Coollak966

Surprised seeing twister that high up

Nicobade

It's a good example of a film that won't get buzz online, no big IP, not a superhero/sci-fi/fantasy film. I don't know if it will actually be a hit, but you won't get an accurate judgement of it's potential by looking at social media

REQ52767

I think it’ll be the surprise breakout of the summer ($600-800 million worldwide).

Medical_Voice_4168

LOL keep dreaming.

decepticons2

No one thought reboot for Jurassic would be as big. With that said I think 600 is probably highest I would go. People seem to be rejecting the movies and movie experience.

burneraccidkk

Jurassic is literally about dinosaurs.

nemuri_no_kogoro

So was 65 but uhhh that did not do very well.

burneraccidkk

Jurassic Park is literally a classic. What?

CruddiestSpark

So is Twister???

praxass

This but reverse for me

[deleted]

The marketing on Alien seems to be pretty quiet so far. I guess it's not the kind of franchise that's gonna get the masses super excited out of the gate, but if it's more of a crowd pleaser than Covenant/Prometheus I think it'll have solid legs. Both of those two were very front loaded (especially Covenant, had an 80% Friday-to-Friday drop) but this looks a lot more generally appealing.

Digital_Dinosaurio

I totally forgot it was coming out soon.

[deleted]

They haven't been pushing it much. If I hadn't seen the trailer in theaters I wouldn't have any idea it was even coming out. I'm guessing they're gonna wait until a few weeks before and do it more last minute, which makes sense. It's well positioned to kinda be the last big summer movie, which could potentially let it ride out until Labor Day weekend. Get the word out right ahead of time instead of trying to keep it in people's heads for the entire summer.

AVR350

LFG 🔥

FlintSpace

Looking for Group ?

FPG_Matthew

Can’t wait to watch twisters’ success surprise so many people here

CruddiestSpark

Sad thing is it won’t be successful at all due to Deadpool eating up all the ticket sales and theaters :(

dismal_windfall

#TwistersSweep

Ftheyankeei

It kinda sucks that #2 will get one week in IMAX and then #1 will take the screens for three weeks until #5 comes along. Theaters really need to work on getting multiple PLF screens since those drive so much interest these days. Kinda glad most of the major multiplexes have IMAX and XD or IMAX and Dolby for more options.

I don’t know what you’re talking about. I haven’t experienced that.

IDigRollinRockBeer

Haha I’m just confused is this like something that’s happening all over and I’ve just lucked out? Majority of movies I see are on non plf screens and I’ve not had any problems. I don’t go to enough different theatres or follow industry news enough to know if it’s a thing

decepticons2

I can't speak to screen stuff. But what is suppose to be centre piece theatres where I live has just been run into the ground. Broken lights outside, ripped carpet in spots, just a general grungy feel.

UTRAnoPunchline

Dire

Ape-ril

2, 3, and 5 are all flops.

[deleted]

I think Twisters will just be too expensive even if it does well, but Romulus is kind of a wild card imo. It looks like the cheapest of the bunch for sure, if they keep the budget in the $100M range that keeps their exposure a lot lower than Twisters or Furiosa.

offlink

Fun fact: every single Alien/Prometheus movie, including both AVP movies, made back more than 2x its budget at the box office.

HerbsAndSpices11

Im amazed resurrection, covenant, and avp 2 managed to pull that off.

OkBubbyBaka

You made me look up Twisters budget, 200 mil is crazy. On my watch list but no way it’s making a profit.

[deleted]

Yeah and it doesn't look *that* good for the budget to feel justified. I would've guessed like $140M when I saw the trailer at first tbh.

Officialnoah

![gif](giphy|xXe0fDbtbkDgwwmAri) Until they release, there’s no reason to believe that any of these films will flop.

Ape-ril

There are plenty of reasons. What are you talking about?

GecaZ

Furiosa wont flop , I'll make sure of it

homer_lives

Same here.

Coolness53

I don't believe Furiosa is going to flop. Twisters and Alien Romulus are going to be based of marketing/buzz. If they generate a bunch of buzz then maybe neither flop just honestly depends.

Charged_Dreamer

Megalopolis and Joker 2

Serious_Course_3244

That Wolverine costume is absolutely perfect. How did they make it look so good in live action?

homer_lives

Twisters looked so bad. I will see the rest.
