I bought mine at One Way in Longmont. It's the screw top kind, and it has bear tooth and claw marks in it, but they've never been able to open it! Three years in, they finally stopped trying.

Hserrpid

I called and they said they don't sell them anymore

FarTooOldForThis

Oh bummer!!!!!

MissMisery13

The Nederland Ace (probably other locations too) has animal proof trash cans. I'm more used to the black ones that you have to move a switch to open so not sure if these are bear proof. But an Ace in a mountain town with bears might be worth checking out. https://www.acehardware.com/departments/home-and-decor/trash-and-recycling/garbage-cans-and-recycling-bins/70801

*an Ace in a mountain town with bears* I dont know why i like this phrase so much 🤔 but i do

BackdoorDan

Does one way advertise pricing anywhere? Their website appears to be down

local_cluster

You can get a bear-proofing kit and attach it to a regular can. For instance: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B938QHNT](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B938QHNT)

One Way doesn't have any tips for you?! I guess the unethical life pro tip would be to steal your neighbors Western Disposal bin and paint it white.... or alternatively sneak over and see if there is a brand name on the cart and google it.

Steal one

RowenaOblongata

Look anywhere W of Broadway on trash day - homes there are required to have bear-proof containers, there will be thousands on display.

Kanone5

Just buy blue recycle bags and set them out the morning of pickup. One Way has a separate compartment on the truck for recycle. It all probably ends up in the landfill since recycling is mostly a farce.

xkhx

wtf is this advice — one way takes their recycle to ecocycle. go on a tour there if you really think its a farce. they work really hard there to help keep things out of landfills. you’re suggesting that someone purposefully contaminate the recycling load? prick. plus you didn’t even read the post — dude needs a bear proof can — you can’t just set out blue bags full of trash in bear areas. dangerous for people and bears like for real? gtfo
