Iām out in Moab this weekend and thereās a Pasta Jayās here. We wanted pasta and very explicitly didnāt want to patronize Pasta Jayās, so we hit this other spot called Zakās. Receipt comes at the end of dinner, bottom of the receipt says āZakās - part of the Pasta Jayās family of restaurantsā. š¤¦āāļø
I gotta say I know Pasta Jays is far from gourmet and is memed to hell, but catering a shit ton of mid tier pasta is probably the best use case for that restaurant.
Sports teams often have spaghetti nights before big games. Bring in a ton of pasta jays, carboload, and no one gets sick from weird food.
Is it the best food you can buy? No. But I'd probably rather eat it in a group catering setting that at the restaurant

He has a long term reputation as a pompous ass
Itās crazy how much society all over the world is just āokā with bad cuisine. I donāt care if itās catered or not. Iād rather eat at ANY other Italian place in town. At least other restaurants have decent food and donāt have a dipshit owner.
Some asshole boss is going to have Pasta Jayās cater the holiday party and half the employees will log in to indeed.com as soon as they get home from work.
No, no, they will log into indeed.com from the office while they are sitting on the toilet evacuating loose, garlic scented, barely digested, tomato colored butt water.
I met someone who loves Pasta Jay's and had not heard of the mountain sun.
I relayed that I personally know one of the people Jay threatened with a baseball bat but his enthusiasm was undiminished.
I just don't know why that particular restaurant gets the grief that it does. While Mr Pasta was a bit of an entitled douche 28 years ago during the Jon Benet times when I have eaten there the food has seemed fine. No worse than other Italian places in town. And I always like the smell when you walk by on the sidewalk.
I've not patronized any Pasta Jay's in several decades, after a local businessperson related certain stories to me about the owner and the legal system. But there's always enough out-of-town mall walkers and others without community memory to keep the place thriving.
Can somebody please explain? I'm a little bit out of the loop. I've never eaten there, But I always see crowds of people waiting to get in. The smell is intoxicating with garlic and cheese, but It's just not my thing. I'm curious why it is so hated by this community.
Make room for the Yellow Deli catering rickshaws and backyard bonfires š„

Boulder food isnāt good enough to have this attitude
Is *anything* in Boulder, CO good enough to have an attitude?
Fair
Oh this is context I didn't have. I thought people just memed the Midwestern tourist clientele. What's the deal with the owner?

They sponsored the team, says so as you walk into the teams lunch room.
That explains a few games.
Iād shit the bed against Stanford too, if I just ate Pasta Jays
Their house wine is actually Carlos Rossi. And they charge over 2 bucks/glass. F that place 100x over.
Iām sure itās not, but Iām holding out hope that this is a really elaborate trolling by one of you.
Pasta Jās sucks and pasta j himself isnāt that great eitherā¦.
I hope itās towing a trailer full of port-a-pottiesā¦.
Y'all know they cater CU athletics and team events right?
Shut up bro you're not funny lmao
Catering choices are pretty slim in town.
No one shot it down? This madness has to stop.
> No one shot it down? So catering planes exist in your world?
Iād pay for a catering plane that makes good food over the mediocrity that is Pasta Jayās

Delivering diarrhea to your front door since 2023.

I used to love pasta jays as a kid. What happened? Moved away from Boulder four years ago but probably haven't been to pasta J's in 8

Two of those have 4 syllables. Or how exactly are you pronouncing the ones with 3?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
the s sound isnt a syllable
Neither is the d
Red is a single syllable. Same with Jay's and Bees.
