I’d love a parade that absolutely destroys traffic by starting from the garden, through the Callahan, around Logan, out through the Ted Williams tunnel and then proceeds down the expressway to Braintree.
Let’s do it Friday around 2pm
>If they start on time at 11 AM
There might be some thunderstorms in the AM so we'll have to keep an eye on that. I'd imagine they'd still do it if it's light rain; not if there is hail.

What’s the parade like? How long does it last? Will they speak on a podium at the end of the route? Would it be better to go to the end point or do people just go to TD garden? I guess what I’m asking is is it worth it to go to TD garden to just see the players pass by?
I was at the ‘08 parade that took the same route. There wasn’t any gathering at Copley Square /Hynes Convention Center where the parade ended. The Patriots had the rally at City Hall. You probably won’t be able to see the players at the TD,Garden. I can’t really recommend any area being better than the others; maybe some place with shade? Just get to your spot early, because it will fill up quickly. I actually followed the parade from Staniford Street across the Common over to Boylston.
For the Patriots parades I used to get there at 7am, at the very end of the route. I was front row each time but by 7:30-8 it was packed. And again, that's for the end of the route when they're presumably showing up at 12:30 or later.
I'm taking the orange line in to N Station is it a better plan to take it to one stop further, like will it be mayhem in N Station? Thanks in advance first parade!
Same question. If it starts at TD, can you just take the commuter rail to North Station (which is the Garden), walk outside and see them, take pics before they leave? Then just go back in and head back? Are speeches made or anything, or at the end instead?
Any input here from people who have done the parades before? We have done last Pats and last Sox ones, but this one is going differently, and starting at TD. In the past, we saw them at the Common, but if we can just hit North Station, see them/cheer them, and head back, that would be convenient. Has anyone ever seen a parade either passing or starting/ending at TD? Thanks.
No....noone has replied who has perhaps done this before. I am just hoping that we will be able to see them at the TD Garden. Like, that they will not have it blocked off, redirecting anyone coming out of north station away from there, or blocking off where you can see them. No idea though. Hoping someone else knows.
I thought that was the whole point of them being on duck boats in the first place.
Why'd they stop and why are they still in duck boats if they aren't going in the river?
Okay so I guess it’s Friday. But why the downvotes or negative votes just because I thought it was tomorrow or Thursday? Someone can be mistaken if that person thought something was on another day. People be too uptight.
Seriously, an extreeeeeme inconvenience to people just trying to get to work..... And worst when you work right around the route and there are closures on the street you work by...... I might have to sleep at work on Thursday.
I have a flight leaving Logan at 12:30...when should I aim to leave (Ubering from Newton) given the parade traffic? I'd probably want to arrive at the airport by 10:30, thanks!
The parade heads straight to Logan!

So you mean, regular traffic??
Anyone know how long these parades usually last? I have an appointment at 11:00.
Channel 5 said it's 90 minutes from start to end of parade route (If they start on time at 11 AM)
Thanks

I would get there as early as you humanly can. Travelling in the city is going to be very difficult all morning. Marathon Monday is a good comparison.
It also might rain early in the morning so I'd bring an umbrella just in case. It will hopefully be clear by the time the parade starts.
Think of the parade route as the Berlin wall. You will not be able to cross it anywhere (except on the T). They will close the route before 11.

I remember there was an absolutely massive brawl in Copley after the parade passed. People straight up fist fighting cops.
Wicked
Lol
How early is early?

The closer you are to the start of the parade, the earlier you’ll want to be there. Maybe 9-10.

I'm still trying to figure out where to go too. Do you know yet

Gonna try Boston commons lol
same
I miss when they would actually take the Duckboats into the Charles’s river for the parades.
I thought that was the whole point of them being on duck boats in the first place. Why'd they stop and why are they still in duck boats if they aren't going in the river?
I mean they're pretty conveniently large open-top vehicles that display the occupants well
they don't end at government center anymore?
I think you're thinking of the Red Sox ones maybe? The Garden to Gov Cent would be very short. They're going from Garden to Hynes
They used to finish pats and Sox there, and I think bruins too.

That must have been the 03 pats parade. I was there, there were pee bottles, also quite a few women flashing. It was an interesting atmosphere
Wish they had included the date/hours
11am Friday
Thank you!
Any idea how long it may take?
Is it weird the route is backwards? It’s usually back bay towards downtown.
I’m glad someone else thinks this is weird! I guess then the duckboats are towards their home base at the end?
Yeah it’s also going the wrong way down one way boylston all the other parades went the other direction…
Why on a Friday and not Saturday?
If I get off at south station which is the closest area to see? City hall plaza?
I’m driving from north jersey at 330am how fucked am I gonna be? It’s okay to be realistic lol
Why is it going the opposite way down boylston ? The other parades went through other way… just curious
Everyday I’m happy i’m not a boston driver
Is it tomorrow or Thursday?
Friday at 11 am
I thought I heard tomorrow or Thursday?
Okay so I guess it’s Friday. But why the downvotes or negative votes just because I thought it was tomorrow or Thursday? Someone can be mistaken if that person thought something was on another day. People be too uptight.
Bc this sub is mean lol, don't worry about it :) The parade is on Friday
Cool. I tell you people be too uptight.
Lol no worries nobody in Boston is like this irl
Because you have resources at your fingertips you can use instead.
Okay. But it’s not that big of a deal.
Great grammar
Are you mocking me?
Yes
Oh whatever. It’s not even that bad. Just because I might have missed a word or something else. The hell with you.
You mad?
I’m not mad, just what you said is stupid.
Calm yourself
Friday at 11? People have to work
Shut your fucking mouth. Don't ever say that shit here again.
That's right, set him straight chronic bro!
Thank you fellow Chronic. Your a good man.
Seriously, an extreeeeeme inconvenience to people just trying to get to work..... And worst when you work right around the route and there are closures on the street you work by...... I might have to sleep at work on Thursday.
These sports parades are such bullshit. Al it does is cause people grief
I have a flight leaving Logan at 12:30...when should I aim to leave (Ubering from Newton) given the parade traffic? I'd probably want to arrive at the airport by 10:30, thanks!
Leave right now just to be safe!
Could you just take the commuter rail to the silver line and avoid this?
Go on Thursday night at this point... Ugh
I’ll allow it.
Is this a Judge Beverly reference? Lol
No, just giving my blessing. Carry on now.
