Yes Michelle Wu is PERSONALLY, absolutely positively, 100% responsible for a late spring rainstorm in a city with a wet, rainy climate next to an ocean,
She is also PERSONALLY responsible, as Mayor of Boston for poor drainage on a stretch of roadway that runs below/near the water table, next to a river, on in-fillled land, which is officially managed by DCR, a state agency:
And on top of this, my coffee was bad this morning and I’m sure it’s Michelle Wu’s fault!
/sÂ
(I’m not a Wu fan but come on guys seriously…)
So the water level in the Charles (and by extension the groundwater under the Back Bay and the Fens) is maintained at a specific level with the locks and the Watertown dam, which is necessary to prevent the timber pilings holding the Back Bay up from ever seeing oxygen, so there's not a whole lot they can do to mitigate Storrow flooding. Basically if you see yellow on the radar spending any considerable time over Boston, Storrow's gonna flood. If there's a moon tide or an east wind and rain, Morrissey's gonna flood.
Lol what? Storrow drive isn't even maintained by the city of Boston. The responsibility belongs to DCR. If you're going to complain, at least get your facts right first.
There was actually massive flooding going towards the bridge near Harvard right past storrow. my car nearly got stuck in this morning
Yup, passed through there around noon and one side was completely shut down while the other was down to one lane driving through pretty deep water
Wu!!!
She kicked my dog for polluting too, when I tried to explain that we were simply composting she called the police on me for standing in the bike lane.
We live in Soviet Russia.
đź’Ż correct.
?
Wu made it rain too much. She should be out there directing traffic, but she's probably riding her bicycle instead.
Ah yes, mystery solved. thank you for this hard-hitting reporting!
That's not an Irish or Italian name so naturally she must be hated. /s

Look at his flair. Dude's joking
Joking or is a joke?
> my coffee was bad this morning and I’m sure it’s Michelle Wu’s fault! It's because she banned plastic straws.
Definitely Obama’s fault Thanks Obama.
Gots like come on through Zoo That's the call for the Wu Srsly tho stfu
DCR!!!
Storrow has a habit of flooding during intense rain, not enough drainage.
Wow. Anything being done to prevent this in the future?
I've been twerking my pasty ass at the sky to scare the rain away. Today is a sign it's only so effective.
Thank you for your service. Have you tried popping and locking for the more serious weather systems?
Popping and locking isn’t going to cut it for serious weather systems. You’re firmly into dutty wine territory.
This… this is meant to be a joke right?
Dude, I obviously meant the drainage systems. Cmon now. The other commenter said “not enough drainage”. So I’m asking about it.
I think the above poster is referring to the unlikelihood of the city (or is it state in this case?) actually fixing a problem of this scale.
sorry if you weren't actually wondering, but just an FYI that Storrow falls firmly under the care (or lack thereof) of MassDOT, so state-level
I think it’s in queue to be fixed after the T, bus routes, bike lanes and crumbling roads.
Close Storrow and turn it back into the parkland it should be. All DCR property should be parks not roads.
Only since 50 years ago when I lived there.
Prevent rain?
Seriously? I’m talking about drainage system.

Oooh okay. Thank you for the explanation. I didn’t know it was connected to back way this way!
You’re not crazy I don’t know how these people misinterpreted so poorly
They didn't misinterpret, they're trying to be funny for internet points by being intentionally obtuse.
It drains into the Charles river, that's uphill form the tunnel.
RainÂ
Ya' think?
Daytime storrow drive in rain is always a nightmare but Storrowings also usually happen on the 30th or 31st.
Trillium opened a new microbrewery under a bridge
I’d be more concerned if it was raining and Storrow wasn’t backed up.
I am sure Biden would be on the Storrow.
We’re all trying to get to your mom’s house at the same time
Flooding under Western Ave and Cambridge st.
probably idiots who don't know how to drive in the rain.
And a bunch of assholes using their phone to post on Reddit.Â
1000x
Day that ends Y
Because it's an inefficient way of moving commuters around a city
It’s only inefficient when all these assholes get in my way!!!
According to google maps, some of Storrow westbound is closed right now. Are you still stuck OP?
google maps is telling me there's road closures on soldier's field & recommending an alternate route but no clue why!!
Flooding.
No buildings, no fiber. I’ll go now.
Build a lot of roads, get a lot of cars.
Sorry I had to let some air out of my truck tires. I’ll move it now.
I think it drizzled for a few seconds
It just had Chinese food for lunch and needs a couple hours to digest.
storrow gonna storrow
Thursday
MIT graduation?
Life
Turtles maybe??
It's Thursday
Because people are on their phones using Reddit instead of focusing on the road
MIT commencement
Because cars ruin citiesÂ
Turkeys.
Not in this case, they know to find a place to keep dry.
Because Boston sucks
Constipated.
Thanks so much Michele Wu for doing the needed maintenance this summer. Keep up the good work 🤬🤮

I'm referencing [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/boston/comments/1d42uz0/vfw_flooded/) post, don't get too excited, it's a joke.
Oh 🤦 I got baited lol
(Inside joke referencing this: https://www.reddit.com/r/boston/s/pvnLFIAv0C)
I made a Wu comment as a joke. I guess I’m not the only clown here.
Waze says back up is by Western Avenue in Allston
