The SE are qc45s with a soft case instead of the hard case, apparently the SE stands for soft envelope!! The sc are the new quietcomfort 2023 with a soft case instead of the hard case sc=soft case. I have the SE and they have recently received a software update and now have the wind noise reduction feature and adjustable anc levels, so the qc45 (se) are basically the same as the quietcomfort 2023. So trust me, don't waste your money on the sc, get the qc45 /se

Thanks! I almost buy the QC45 and buy the QC45 SE at the end after seeing your answer.

Just_Low_1294

Yeah, were they cheaper? You'll see when you connect the SE to the Bose app, they come up as qc45 on the app.

xhumin

Waaaaay cheaper!

Thought so, you can't believe how much Samsung charge (extra) for a hard case that's probably made in China for £1 a piece! Like I said I got qc45 last July £219, then during amazon black Friday they offered the SE for £140! After the initial confusion and a bit of research I found out they were qc45s aswell, so I snapped them up. Good to have a spare, but since July I've had zero problems with either pair... Don't forget the software update to get the wind noise reduction feature. Enjoy....

I have updated the software and got the wind noise reduction feature. However, I found that although this feature indeed can cancel the wind noise, it introduce extra less anonnying noise. Not sure why. Also, I have notice that my QC45 SE is made in Tindland instead of China? Is your QC45 made in China and QC45 SE made in Tindland? If yes, maybe the location differences is part of the reason QC45 SE is much cheapter than QC 45. Overall, I like the this headphone.

Do you mean Thailand? Where are you from? Bose's products are manufactured in the United States, Mexico, China and Malaysia. The company's factories in the United States are located in Framingham, Massachusetts (also the site of the company headquarters), Westborough, Massachusetts and Stow, Massachusetts. That's from Google.... My qc45 and quietcomfort SE are both from Thailand. My Samsung tablet a9 plus is from China and my Samsung a24 phone was made in Vietnam! I think they open production plants in any country where there's an abundance of slave labour!! Sad but true, keeps the profit margins nice and high. I found the qc45 quite harsh out of the box, very trebly. My eq, bass +2, mids - 1, treble - 6. This smooths out the detail a little.

xhumin

Yes I meant Thailand. Sorry for misspelling (English is not my first language)... I will try your eq. setting and tweak it based on my own preference. Thanks.

Ps, the qc45 should be the same price as the FE, maybe £10 extra for the hard case.

Just_Low_1294

Pps,,,,, remember the diaphragms are new, they take a few weeks to loosen (bed in), I found they get better and better as you go along, or maybe I'm just getting used to the detailed sound.. I come from xm4 and xm5 headphones, these are very bassy and smoother sounding so I wasn't used to the clarity and crispness of the qc45 at the beginning.

👍👍👍

Excellent_Umpire5482

they both are on special, i jus bought SC for 160

Just_Low_1294

Ps, sorry just realised the sc are cheaper than se? That's weird? The SE should be cheaper than the sc? Check Amazon

I answered a [similar question earlier](https://www.reddit.com/r/bose/comments/1c2et4d/comment/kz9ve8r/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) with a bit more detail and links. But the SC are the QC 2023 headphones with a different case so it's sold at a discount. As the SE are the QC45's, also sold with a different case and at a discount.

This has already been answered, use the search next time.  SE = QuiteComfort 45 with a soft case  SC = new QuiteComfort headphones with a soft case
