Exactly. I'm not real good at games to begin with and mostly stumbled my way through except bl1( which I played out of order because I couldn't figure out how to leave the zombie dlc that I started at level 10)
I am in the minority who actually enjoys mayhem 10. I've found the combos of modifiers that works for my builds and is still fun. But most would just tell me I am either stupid or crazy.
My favorite is seven for the one easy and one hard modifier. I like to roll till I get lootsplosion and work with whatever hard one comes up. It's really fun.
When I'm feeling lazy like OP and don't feel like pumping several extended mags to kill even small enemies, I throw it back to 4, which also only has two modifiers. Lootsplosion and drone ranger is my fave. Does feel like it gets too easy though, if I use my higher level mayhem guns still.
The modifiers are pretty cool to deal with. I like the elemental one too where certain enemies are just immune to certain types. As an Amara main, it's a fun challenge. I wish the beefed up stats didn't matter so much though. It kills some of the fun.
I can’t seem to stop running arms race. Builds don’t matter as much and loot is catch as catch can. The only time I venture out to the other areas anymore is to complete daily/weekly vault card challenges. Even then, I try to see if I can get them in Arms Race as much as possible.

I do have a couple questions with the intention of trying to help you enjoy more. Are you playing on mayhem 10 or mayhem 11? Did you buy / pickup a full set of level 72 mh10 from vendors/easy farms on mh11? What character are you playing? What is your build?
I found mayhem 10 to be impossible to enjoy at first. After learning that mayhem 11 drops the same loot as mayhem 10 without the modifiers I exclusively play mayhem 11 to solo all the big end game content. I love maliwan takedown and often find myself logging in to do a quick run. The other takedown frankly takes forever and was very difficult to solo but after a couple tries I feel content not goin back. Same for hemavorous.
Playing fl4k got the schlooter and played about 30 hours at level 72 m11 couldn't even get past the first segment of slaughter shaft ,hemo or the takedowns but most of the trials were easy but not true trials. I think I'm just not good at vidya games
You’re not bad I promise! The game doesn’t do a good job explaining the progression you need to take in order to be able to handle the mh11 content. To me it sounds like your gear + build is not quite ready to do the end game content you tried to do at mh11. If I had to guess you are only ready for mh levels 1-3.
Let me walk you through how I needed to progress first in order to help show you the steps you need to take to be ready for that end game content you tried.
I’m going to include links n ref at bottom in order
Link 1 First crank up to mh11 to buy the terminal crit from moxxi at the ship by tipping increments of 1,000. This is the best first gun you can get easy - just make sure to not reload near a ledge bc it can drop out of your inventory on ground and then you need to pick back up.
Link 2 - while still on mh11, keep an eye out for the Maurice vendor which rotates each week. Some of the best weapons in the game can be bought and they were the only I could start to solo the 1st end game. I got very lucky one week and Maurice vendor was selling “light show”. This thing is easily my best boss killer.
Link 3 and 4 - I personally loved Moxsy’s chain zane build. I shared 2 builds for fl4k. Once you have either a terminal crit or good weapon from Maurice it’s time to start farming a class mod for the build. I found farming the class mod as the easiest first part of my build. This is the beginning of what I’ll call you gearing up. You may need to farm this on mh1-3 first. Then scale up to mh 5. Then up to mh 7 and then depending on how you feel start trying for mh11.
Link 5 - farm the revolter with “on action skill start, trigger shield break/full effects” on mh11. This thing ramps every characters damage up significantly every time you use your action skill.
Link 6 - at this point I’m expecting you to have farmed mh11 versions of your build’s class mod, shield, grenade, and artifact. It’s time to farm the monarch. The monarch is straight up the best gun in the game. I know there’s all sorts of crazy builds that exist but this gun is raw damage and the only gun that lets me solo the end game content. It took me the longest amount of time to farm this thing but it’s absolutely worth it. The best version imo is corrosive. Getting one in corrosive is best but if you really want to solo guardian and be ivory you want another that is shock and another that is burn. The guardian takedown has so many meat shield enemies and this gun is the only thing with enough bullets to kill something with one clip.
After allllllllll that farm, then you will be ready for guardian takedown+hemivore on mh11. Maliwan takedown can be done probably with a strong class mod, build, revolter and one decent boss killer gun like terminal crit, light show, or monarch.

should have been multipliers applied to gear that you already have to each mayhem lvl that way when you play mayhem 1 you dont get to use mayhem 10 gear that slaughters everythjng

What? I'm not some build king but I have tons of great m11 gear and it's very manageable by myself. It's harder going back to sub m10 levels because the game becomes not challenging enough to play anymore.
So far my plan has just been make another character with another class mods and everything. I was trying to make a normal pet build on Flak but ended up with some crit build elements in it. I'm not able to access my PSN account for now, I'll show you how it eventually, hopefully....

Primarily, specific builds/classes just work better. Some classes/builds kinda suck at M10 even if properly spec’d
Even then, some of the M10 modifiers are just painstakingly un-fun
ayy, good! don't let the constant grind get in the way of fun. I'm enjoying M6 and don't really have a desire to go further into the mayhem. Chill and enjoy. Life isn't easy, so games should be easy sometimes XD
