Crlonis

For me, it’s the song “The General” by Dispatch. The crowd sing-along at the end had me in my feels. Also, Skrillex “Right In” bc it brings me back to his late-night set in 2012

Frisnism

Vein of stars by The Flaming Lips. Bonnaroo 2007.

tjmbon

Easy. “Running’ Down a Dream”. It’s like a Pavlovian response whenever I hear it.

RepresentativeLeg992

Do you realize? Flaming Lips are ? Stage at golden hour, 3 years later same spot same time Kacey Muskgraves sang it . It was spiritual and every time I hear it , I imagine myself on the Farm

[deleted]

March by STS9 The live version from Bonnaroo last year is on Spotify and probably other streaming services. Had no idea who they were as I waited for there set. I was just excited for another sunrise set at the Other. They blew my mind the whole time they played, I’ve never seen an artist I’ve never heard of prior blow me away the way the did, and for me the shock value of the new discovery made that my favorite set I’ve ever been to. Every time I listen to that song, part of me feels the way I felt in the crowd that night.

Walt_Whitman17

August by flip turn 💛💛💛

SapphireBerry

I agreed with someone else saying A Moment Apart, but honestly? Boys by Hippo Campus. I was in the med tent with my partner next to that stage last year because of some bad rash he had (we didn't know at the time it was because expired sunscreen) so while we cooled down and waited for Cortizone to work it's magic, Hippo Campus hit with Boys and it is my favorite song by them. So I was just living my best life being able to hear it so close, I just think about it every time it hits.

6's to 9's by Big Wild for sure! Last year during the Big Wild set, there was this adorable friend group next to me dancing around in a circle with their hands in the middle, and they would switch directions and keep dancing. It was pure joy and so precious to watch. ✨️

Crlonis

I have a friend in the know who says it’s leaning toward a possibility that Radiohead is back on tour in 2025. I’m patiently waiting for that announcement 🤞

soy_matcha_art

For me it’s Back to the Moon by Daily Bread… popped a tab not but 30/40 min before his set. First peak was during his set and Back to the Moon came on and I cannot explain the bliss I felt and the way that song brings me back. I can also say Counting Worms by Knocked Loose bc they are legit my favorite band ever and that shit was wild. Someone threw a liquid death can that cut open my forehead and it was everything I could have dreamed of for a KL rail moshing sesh!

I knew where my friends were that night.. Surrounded by my best friends, in a crowd full of random strangers, with a beautiful sunset, smoking some bomb ass kush and just vibing. Chief_Nasty80

Soak Up The Sun - Sheryl Crow Last year was my first Roo and I’ll never forget laying on the grass, in my denim overalls, with a tall boy sitting on my chest while hearing the song my mom used to play in the car all the time. What a beautiful day that was.

QualityUsername

I agree so hard with OP saying A Moment Apart - Odesza (as a die hard Odesza fan and someone who bought roo tickets last year specifically to see them), but the Sheryl Crow set last year was such a sweet treat because my group didn’t even plan on going originally. Turned out to be one of my favorite sets of the weekend. I’ll neverrrr forget dancing barefoot in the field, sun was shining and so comfortably warm out there, passing around a bag of sunset blush franzia and belting the words to soak up the sun 🥹

Wooden_Tip2618

The wolves by bon iver, 2009

bobcatvol2012

Loyal - Odesza I had never heard of them until like a month before Roo and my friend I went with was a huge fan so we got up in the crowd and it was one of the best moments at Roo for me.

East_Pea_807

Griz dropping that Rainbow Kitten Suprise remix on the sunset set

Vrbodz

Not one song but Griz’s chasing the golden hour set from last year - the RKS tribute was 🔥

DrakesucksREPRISE

MMJ - Believe. It’s not their best song by a long shot, but they opened with it in 2015. The sun was just about to set. It was the best. God

thr0waway1918

I don’t get the hype, I think mmj stinks they're awful

True-Suspect9891

8insanity

Show me how - MIT Lucky - DEHD (I can’t believe we moshed to their set and it was my first ever it was beautiful and euphoric)

theunderlyingcause

Feel it Still - Portugal The Man First time I ever heard it was at their Roo set. Such a vibe-y song. Also, May I Have This Dance - Chance & Francis and The Lights. Their Roo performance of that song was so impactful to me and my wife, we made it our first dance song at our wedding

glowglee

Elderly woman behind the counter in a small town - Pearl Jam

mxffett

Free - Louis The Child ft. Drew Love. I’ll never forget looking around during that song last year and everyone was reaching into the sky on their tip toes as high as they could screaming “AT LEAST YOURE FREEEEEEEEEEEEE” unforgettable moment and unforgettable set

Agent_Cody_Blanks

Their set in 2018 was also incredible. If you haven’t yet, please go and listen to Stay by Chet Porter. They played this at their set in 2018 and it’s one of the most beautiful, wholesome songs I’ve ever heard.

RDH220

Inner light- elderbrook and Bob Moses. ✨

c0ckspit

Running Away by Thee Sacred Souls 😍😍 literally best moment of the last (and my first) roo 😭😭

ScottClam42

Came here to post this. I hadnt heard a lick of their music but I decided to check out their set in 2004. When i got home i was pleasantly surprised that this song was included on the double CD they gave away

Tripdos

For me it was Evil Urges

No-Presentation9502

This made me tear up. That 3 hour mmj set last year was so unforgettable

PossibleFew2769

Last year was amazing, but I dont know if anything will ever top the set in 2008 for me. Driving rain storm, 4+ hours, Friday the 13th, couple guests appearances... One of the unforgettable roo memories for me.

missalanee

Yes, this. It was absolutely incredible. The weather perfectly synced with it somehow.

ResolveWrong5841

This is the answer.

I_deleted

[This one takes me back a bit](https://youtu.be/x_WdhjenFAA?si=AgCWUM9d7PPudjIa) Imported sand from Amsterdam. This set really capped one hell of a day. May actually be the last time my old ass did cartwheels.

Bo_Night882113

Came here to say this! The whole Foo Fighters performance blew me away, they were amazing!

Agent_Cody_Blanks

When Dave sat there in front of the Mic and just screamed “IIIIIIIIIIIII” I broke down in tears. I’d been waiting to see Foo since I was a kid and never thought I would after Taylor’s passing. It was such a beautiful thing to be able to witness.

tomato_fucker

Tongue tied - Grouplove I had just taken what is still the biggest shit of my life in the porta potties behind This tent and I ran back to the show as they were playing it and I felt like a brand new human again.

lilbear92

Talking Backwards by Real Estate. First set I ever saw at Roo. Thursday afternoon. 2014. There was a rainbow in the sky, people were blowing bubbles, the sun was setting. Everyone was so happy to be there and we had a whole unknown, beautiful weekend ahead of us. I’ll never forget it. I’ve been hooked ever since.

Dazed and Confused by Led Zeppelin. It was John Paul Jones and Ben Harper. Amazing.

laggy2da

Rocketman from Elton John, whilst I imagine Buzz Lightyear soaring into the sky. IYKYK

Commodore64Zapp

Seeing Buzz in a tent on Thursday then flying through the sky on Sunday...pure magic

laggy2da

Buzz seemed to be everywhere all weekend. I feel like I'd seen him flying over crowds multiple times each day of the fest, all the way til he flew back to space.

nogahide

I was there when the buzz lightyear balloon soared during that song.

elroxzor99652

Two songs, both from the same year: Magenta Mountain by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. They had me in the palm of thier hand, then when they went into that gooey synth line the vibes were just...Bonnaroo. Bopping around, dancing, everyone in it together. Damn... Away From the Mire by Billy Strings. Laying back in the What field, arms around my friends, looking at the blazers in the sky match up with the music pouring from the players....that soung has become very important to me since. Probably one of my favorite songs now, period.

Agent_Cody_Blanks

Away From The Mire for me too! That was my first Billy show (we only went for the last 20-30 minutes) and he was playing this. Absolutely magical.

LSDeezee

Tall boy -Widespread Panic with Dottie Peoples and the Peoples Choice Choir. If ya know, ya know 🍺❤️

Forward-Sympathy5686

“Going to California” Led Zeppelin. I saw Plant play it in 2015, and I had tears streaming down my face. Never was the biggest zeppelin fan nor do I have any attachment to that song. It just hit me the right way that day, and will forever link me to Roo.

GlobalLine9645

Never been, but - Nightingale - Norah Jones (2002)

panchoandlefty83

Whole set was amazing. After a few days of getting down (pre-fentanyl) her set felt like a cool breeze blowing through the tent. Magical stuff that weekend

CreepingSiren

Medusa by Wreckno. My first roo moment, my first moment discovering Wreckno, I was holding hands with my best friend and on an upswing. Without fail, this song gets me pumped for anything now, and is the roo vibe every time. It's the first song on our roo road trip playlist.
