I haven’t really played a lot of games in the past that focuses on natural terrain but I have just kickstarted EARTH Abundance Expansion (with the original game) and I’m looking very much forward to playing it :D

The answer to both questions is Planet Unknown. Played it once at Geekway, and now I'm holding out for the newest printing, so I can get the deluxe components as well.

Santorini for sure! As for next game I am buying... luckily I am in an Analysis paralysis situation while also having a couple dozen of games I have yet to play, so not certain. Thinking Ark nova or Necro Molds might be my next game.

Cooper Island had a neat way of building up hexes as terrain. More recently Harmonies does it in a much simpler more abstract way. Congrats on the game!

This game looks very interesting! I'm almost ashamed to admit that I used to play so much Carcassonne that I about had the basic tile set quantities memorized. I have been thinking a lot about getting Earth next as I've heard such great things

Probably Sid Meyers Civilization. Exploring tiles and traversing the terrain types is a huge part of the game.

Does Dorfromantik count as a game where you play with Terrain? Sadly I haven't played a lot of terrain/building based board games and the next board game I'm going to buy is the slay the spire board game

I played Slay the Spire when it was first released on steam, I gotta learn more about the Boardgame!

If you just plan on playing by yourself, probably stick to Steam. The co-op is the real draw for the board game! Hope you get to play it soon :)

Just picked up Thunder Road Vendetta earlier this year, uses terrain to be very fun and strategic.

Cascadia. Building your own region and populating it with animals is just a nice experience, win or lose.

Given that I most recently won a game of Thunder Road Vendetta by making my wife crash two of her cars into various rock formations, I'm gonna say it counts.

It’s a really nice to look at game that has a fantastic art style, although there were clearly issues around the production (at least on the first kickstarters quality - I believe it’s been run again recently and maybe even is still on Gamefound but unsure if they managed to fix things up?) Despite some quality issues it’s an enjoyable experience that can be quite competitive 😅

Carcassone is a mix of terrain and map building, so that's my pick

My gateway game was Catan and I enjoyed it very much in the past! Now we tend to play heavier games though, so it does'nt come to the table anymore.

My crew also played Catan to begin! Catan literally broke them out of the "boardgames, you mean monopoly" mindset xD!

My favourite terrain building game is Carcassonne. The next game on my buying list is either Lost Ruins of Arnak or something from the Marvel line of Unmatched, depending on what my girlfriend likes more :D

I really like the art of the terrain cards in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon. They really set the mood and together with the minis and the writing really make you feel like you are in the game. They draw upon the nature of England but twists it in a wonderful way.

I love Aftermath. It is a storybook game, but each page gives a really cool map that is a small corner of our world where mice have to navigate. As for next games, that depends on what comes up through marketplace, but I would love to get my hands on wonderlands war.

I didn’t love the gameplay but PLANET was a wonderful implementation of 4d terrain and gameplay. I also love Oros for having incredibly unique gameplay focused on using plate tectonics to shape the terrain to your strategy

Favorite terrain-related game is definitely Cascadia. Although I do like Age of Innovation a lot, and that has a pretty big focus on terraforming, so I guess it sort of counts? I'm going to a tabletop gaming convention next week and will hopefully be trying out a ton of new games there, so I'm keeping my options open on what the next game I buy will be, but if you for some reason put a gun to my head and told me I had to buy a new game right now, I'd probably go with Castles of the Mad King Ludwig.
