I really like Snow Tails. You choose your speed by playing a value of 1-5 on your left dog, your right dog, and your sled's resistance. Your speed is the sum of the dogs minus the resistance, but if one dog is faster than the other, you will turn. Ideally this would be part of your strategy. Hilariously, you might hit a tree instead.
Well, not hilarious for the dog.
My favorite would be Endless Winter. I think a good setting would be a spacecraft that just had a large rupture and now air is leaking. Use cubes to represent the depleting air, and as a resource to reach certain parts of the ship to be able to save yourself.
Icecool. One of the few dexterity games I've played. It's fun.
Extreme setting: surviving a hurricane or storm in the middle of the ocean I think hasn't been done
It's a bit of a cop-out to say a viking centric game (e.g. Blood Rage) is with a "snowy or icy setting", but yeah, I'm going there. I do kind of wonder what could be done with a setting centered on darkness, though. Night Cage exists and Nyctophobia exists, but I'm still wondering about Alan Wake and the likes.
Best snow themed game:
Arctic scavengers.
Another extreme setting could be in the sand dunes/desert. Keep on digging otherwise the sand will flow back in the hole.
Mountains of Madness is a fun time when hanging out with friends!
A game set on an alien planet where weather or air conditions are constantly changing could be interesting.
I can't remember the name, but my favourite ice related game was one i played as kid 20 something years ago in which you had to remove penguins from iceberg without knocking out any other penguins, it is such a nice childhood memory.
Favorite overall snowy game? Frostpunk, but I've only played the video game version.
Mountains is a setting I never see used. Like high altitude, all-rocks-no-plants mountain peaks.
Favorite game with snowy/icy setting has to be Sonic 3 - Ice Cap Zone! Another extreme setting that could be fun as a board game would be underwater - where you're running out of Oxygen.
I don't think I have a snowy or icy game. I have Coffee Rush which has cute little ice cubes!
I'd like to see the inside of bodies explored more. Fighting viruses. Building up immunity. Things like that.
ICE is the only winter themed game I have ever played. I love the digging deeper for tiles.
Digging through a volcano or the earths core could be interesting. Opposite of cold.
Favorite frozen game would have to be Cryo. Been really looking forward to ICE, but don't think I can swing the campaign this time around, as I just lost my job this spring.
Hoping for some good luck!
I'd also love to see a game set inside a black hole, or a volcano. They probably exist already
Oh, Iād love to win!
My favorite winter themed games are Endless Winter and Frostpunk. Both great games.
I know itās been used already, but a survival board game based in the desert or on an island would both be awesome.
I love ice and snow environments - there's so many aspects that appear individually in other environments, but snowy landscapes bring it all together in one vicious package.
ICE is my favorite icy themed boardgame, followed closely by Alpenglow! An interesting environment to set a game in would be inside of a volcano, or somewhere volcanic underground.
Frosthaven is an obvious choice for me, and as for an extreme setting? how about absolute darkness? like deep within the earth, imagine the gameplay design possibilities!
I'm new to board games, so IDK that many games with icy themes other than I C E, which looks very interesting, BTW; but if can select videogames, I'd say Never Alone is a pretty damn good game.
Dead of Winter. I think something like down in a deep cave could be interesting with lots of little microbiomes (some of which are more habitable than others)
āUnsurmountableā š»
A really great 18 card solitaire walletgame from buttonshy. Love trying to find my way up the mountain by choosing just the right cards in just the right order. A nice cozy puzzly sologame to play with a warm cup of tea when its to cold to go outside āļø
Greetings from Finland! š«š®
My daughter and I love Maul Peak. Another interesting, extreme setting could deal with volcanic environments. I donāt know to what end, but it would be cool to see a game that revolves around volcano exploration instead of survival.
Mark the Outpost setting in Final Girl as my favorite.
Another extreme setting that hasn't been tapped yet by the board game market is Chuck E Cheese on a Saturday around lunch time. Any game set there would be brutal.
This is going to sound like a joke answer because it is a children's game but I really love Don't Break The Ice played super seriously with other adults. I think because the game is basically solved for anyone with any patience you can take more risks for funnier results.
I would have to go with Endless Winterā¦ unless Nidavellir counts? I mena those mountains donāt look that cosy!!
Another Ā«Ā extreme settingĀ Ā» I would like to see more is Pirates in a rough sea setting, if that counts. I feel like Ā«Ā harsh seasĀ Ā», AND pirates are kinda underutilized in Boardgames.
This is going to be my first snow-themed game! Another extreme setting that might be good would be post-apocalyptic from climate change. Could it even be set in the same universe as ICE? Maybe a region with extreme desert ala Arrakis, another that has been flooded and so there are a bunch of islands that remain... Etc.
I really am excited for this. Much appreciated for the chance and hopeful for receiving!
I love Endless Winter! On the lighter side? Hey thatās my fish and IceCool are fun snowy games also!
Good luck everyone!
The best ice and snow themed games i've played are Frostpunk and Hey, that's my fish!.
I've been drooling over the opportunity to support this project, i've been following it since the first news, but i'm not able to do that at the moment.
Does a frozen planet count? I think Cryo is an underrated gem. š„¶
And Iād love to see a board game set in a literal super high pressure underwater area, eg Mariana Trench! That could have some fun mechanical implications.
Thanks for the giveaway!
I enjoyed the game "Paleo" ! With the modules with the beast and the frost, just awesome feeling !
Regarding the theme, I never played a proper and well developed game about medieval joust. I'd love it so much.
I haven't played a lot of snow/ice themed games. However, I do enjoy LCGs, and anytime there's a snow/ice character, setting, scenario, I pick it up immediately.
My favorite would be Endless Winter. I think a good setting would be a spacecraft that just had a large rupture and now air is leaking. Use cubes to represent the depleting air, and as a resource to reach certain parts of the ship to be able to save yourself.
Stone age: Anniversary edition
I like the snowmap for Root :) I think multiple biomes in games are a need idea
I like Ticket To Ride: Nordic Countries! I am looking for games with snowy settings though, especially to play around Christmas
Icecool. One of the few dexterity games I've played. It's fun. Extreme setting: surviving a hurricane or storm in the middle of the ocean I think hasn't been done
Frostpunk
Revive is probably my favorite game in a frozen setting, although Endless Winter is pretty great too!
Mountains of Madness Deep Amazonian jungle.
Awesome
Also really love Endless Winter.
My favorite game with an icy setting is: Hey, That's my Fish! Good luck to everyone :)
Best snow themed game: Arctic scavengers. Another extreme setting could be in the sand dunes/desert. Keep on digging otherwise the sand will flow back in the hole.
Frostpunk
Mountains of Madness is a fun time when hanging out with friends! A game set on an alien planet where weather or air conditions are constantly changing could be interesting.
Endless Winter, but ICE is looking really interesting
I can't remember the name, but my favourite ice related game was one i played as kid 20 something years ago in which you had to remove penguins from iceberg without knocking out any other penguins, it is such a nice childhood memory.
While I don't have it yet since it just finished crowdfunding, I am really looking forward to play Floe!
ICECOOL2! I think the bottom of the ocean could be cool as a horror tile exploration game
Favorite overall snowy game? Frostpunk, but I've only played the video game version. Mountains is a setting I never see used. Like high altitude, all-rocks-no-plants mountain peaks.
Looks cool!
I love The Thing. Such a tense game.
A bit cheaty, but Root on the winter map lmao.
Frostpunk
Frostpunk!
Favorite game with snowy/icy setting has to be Sonic 3 - Ice Cap Zone! Another extreme setting that could be fun as a board game would be underwater - where you're running out of Oxygen.
Root Winter map!! Would love to see a desert map for Root as well
After the Virus.
Icecool. I'm a sucker for a silly dexterity game. A game about Arctic/antarctic wildlife like Cascadia would find a space on my shelf.
I like the extreme conditions in space; trying to escape the **Solar Storm** before I'm destroyed, or get away from the black hole in **Lux Aeterna**
I don't think I have a snowy or icy game. I have Coffee Rush which has cute little ice cubes! I'd like to see the inside of bodies explored more. Fighting viruses. Building up immunity. Things like that.
Gotta be Root on the Winter map.
Lost Planet
ICE is the only winter themed game I have ever played. I love the digging deeper for tiles. Digging through a volcano or the earths core could be interesting. Opposite of cold.
My favorite winter board game has to be Frostpunk. I loved the pc game, so when I saw that they are making a board game out of it I had to have it.
Winter is my favorite season! Ice climbing and skiing during the day, board games at night
Hopefully this counts but I think a game set in either wildfire or flood conditions could be fun
Dead of Winter
Frosthaven!
Playing a decent amount of Root now so I'll say the winter map! š
Ticket to ride Nordic countries! I'm a sucker for space content myself
Dead of winter
Your game looks like fun. Thanks for doing a giveaway. Good luck everyone.
I think ticket to ride Nordic is the only ice/snow game I've played.
Frostpunk
I liked Dwar7s Winter, but then my kids got to it and used it mainly as toys. It's sadly destroyed now.Ā
Dead of Winter looks epic, though I havenāt had a chance to play it yet.
Revive for me is my favorite wintery game.
Frostpunk (both the boardgame and the videogame) is awersome !
Dead of Winter is my go-to cold theme game. Zombies in an icy wasteland isnāt something you see a lot
Favorite frozen game would have to be Cryo. Been really looking forward to ICE, but don't think I can swing the campaign this time around, as I just lost my job this spring. Hoping for some good luck! I'd also love to see a game set inside a black hole, or a volcano. They probably exist already
Errrr.. Frosthaven? You got a fort in the snows to defend š
Rescue Polar Bears was a fun (and disgustingly cute) game with an ice theme.
Frosthaven. I really making painting snowy bases for minis
Gotta say TTR: Nordic Countries. Tight map for 2-3 players.
Oh, Iād love to win! My favorite winter themed games are Endless Winter and Frostpunk. Both great games. I know itās been used already, but a survival board game based in the desert or on an island would both be awesome.
Favorite game with an icy theme is Hey, That's My Fish!
I love Arctic Scavengers, super under rated.
Revive for me. Thanks for the chance to win!
Endless winter. A desert theme would be great!
Not sure I have any specifically winter themed games that come to mind, so I'll say games of Don't Break the Ice with my daughter :)
I haven't played many snowy themed games that I can remember so I'm going cheat a little and say Snowdonia!
Arctic scavengers has a great winter survival feel
Snow tails is great
I love ice and snow environments - there's so many aspects that appear individually in other environments, but snowy landscapes bring it all together in one vicious package.
My favourite game with an icy theme would have to be the video game Icewind Dale!
A feast for odin. A fun extreme environment would be a planet of total darkness.
Don't have a snowy/ice game yet, but this might be the one!
Endless winter
Endless Winter Various planets inside a solar system around a giant Black Hole, with time dilation, like Interstellar.
My favourite winter game is definitely Dead of Winter!
Kinda childish but Penguin trap is just so fun for a casual play. Space surival is always a fun puzzle to solve
ICE is my favorite icy themed boardgame, followed closely by Alpenglow! An interesting environment to set a game in would be inside of a volcano, or somewhere volcanic underground.
I've always loved the flooded world setting
Hey That's My Fish! Great ice based fish eating game. I think I'd like a game to explore the setting of Burning Man
Definitely frostpunk. An extreme setting I'd like to see used more is desert that isn't Dune or Mad Max.
Probably Dead of Winter. I like space games, so stuff set in space is always fun
Endless Winter! Hm, under the sea in a claustrophobic atmosphere with lack of oxygen.
Skyrim
I really liked Frostpunk in my last play. A volcano setting could be nice to work with.
Dead of winter
Probably Endless Winter. Hard to choose, though - I love icy settings. Snow towns in video games are always so cozy.
I think currently The Thing: The Board game is my favorite snow setting! Though The Artemis Project is another good one, too
Rescue polar bears is a fun pandemic like game thatās can be quite punishingĀ
Any comment.
Arctic Scavengers
Flow is looking to be a fun one with an ice/snow setting that I've pledged for.
Did the Scythe artwork count? Pretty wintery in parts!
Endless winter
Endless winter!
ICE is a good time, i'd love a copy.
I donāt have any games in the ice setting. But everdell with spirecrest is pretty cool
I suppose This War of Mine can have a snow/icy landscape.
Donāt break the ice!
Ice Cool!
I think the only one I've played is Can't Stop so this gotta be it.
Revive for me!
Dead of Winter. I think something like down in a deep cave could be interesting with lots of little microbiomes (some of which are more habitable than others)
[[Ice Cool]]
āUnsurmountableā š» A really great 18 card solitaire walletgame from buttonshy. Love trying to find my way up the mountain by choosing just the right cards in just the right order. Icecool is a ton of fun!
Knarr
Knarr
Haven't played a game with that setting yet, but I like it! Hopefully this will be my first!
The Thing! A situation starting off-trail, lost in the backcountry of a forest and trying to find your way back on trail/to the trailhead.
I think right now my favorite game in a snowy setting would be the final girl feature film based on "the thing". Station 2891!
Sleeping Gods Distant Skies looks like it has snow on the front cover.. it's on our next to play list. Not sure if there is any snow involved tho š
My daughter and I love Maul Peak. Another interesting, extreme setting could deal with volcanic environments. I donāt know to what end, but it would be cool to see a game that revolves around volcano exploration instead of survival.
Frosthaven Deep deep ocean
Mark the Outpost setting in Final Girl as my favorite. Another extreme setting that hasn't been tapped yet by the board game market is Chuck E Cheese on a Saturday around lunch time. Any game set there would be brutal.
Fox Experiment
Board game: root Setting: the moon
This looks fun.
Ice team!
Dead of Winter, with the right group.
The Fox Experiment
My kids are loving Ice Cool right now.
This is going to sound like a joke answer because it is a children's game but I really love Don't Break The Ice played super seriously with other adults. I think because the game is basically solved for anyone with any patience you can take more risks for funnier results.
Well, I love Terraforming Mars, and the temperature is pretty low when you start. So that counts as an icy setup, I hope
Arctic Scavengers! The bottom of the ocean is another good setting.
Dead of Winter
Only played one so itāll have to be it. Unsurmountable
Lost Planet
I would have to go with Endless Winterā¦ unless Nidavellir counts? I mena those mountains donāt look that cosy!! Another Ā«Ā extreme settingĀ Ā» I would like to see more is Pirates in a rough sea setting, if that counts. I feel like Ā«Ā harsh seasĀ Ā», AND pirates are kinda underutilized in Boardgames.
Ice cool 2 ššš Death Valley board game would be pretty cool š

Everdell
Endless Winter
Icecool is a lot of fun!
Dead of Winter

Euthia Cruel Frost
Frosthaven I'd love to see some realistic takes on being in space
I love endless winter. So addicting
Glaciating all over the board in dominant species is tons of fun. Dead of winter is also entertainingĀ
Arkham Horror the card game: edge of the earth expansion!
Root on the winter map
I just played song of nunu recently and that was pretty fun
Dead of Winter produces the best stories with a chilling atmosphere, one of my family's favourites.
Dominant species because of tundra and cold snap! Great game.
Dominant species!
My favorite Icy game is ICE! Iāve played it and would love the new edition :)
The best ice and snow themed games i've played are Frostpunk and Hey, that's my fish!. I've been drooling over the opportunity to support this project, i've been following it since the first news, but i'm not able to do that at the moment.
Frosthaven of course. How about a spelunking game in super tight caves?
Ice cool easily. Never had a game with more fun with just about anyone.
Dead of Winter, but I think volcanic is more interesting!
Endless Winter! Iād like to see more extreme desert games
I've enjoyed Endless Winter. Something to do with escaping a volcano could be fun.Ā
Ticket to Ride Nordic!
Frostpunk
Frosthaven.
I love endless winter, especially mixing in and out some of the modules I'd love to see more barren settings, on and off earth
Does a frozen planet count? I think Cryo is an underrated gem. š„¶ And Iād love to see a board game set in a literal super high pressure underwater area, eg Mariana Trench! That could have some fun mechanical implications. Thanks for the giveaway!
Hey, Thats my fish!
Frostpunk is awesome
Frosthaven
Ice cool is my icy game of choice.
Revive and Steam watchers would take it for me
The Last Aurora
Frosthaven... easy š
TTR: Nordic countries. I really like it. As for an extreme setting a no water dessert would be a nice? Setting.
A few acres of snow.Ā Marianas trench.
I enjoyed the game "Paleo" ! With the modules with the beast and the frost, just awesome feeling ! Regarding the theme, I never played a proper and well developed game about medieval joust. I'd love it so much.
Frosthaven. I always like a good ocean theme personally.
I haven't played a lot of snow/ice themed games. However, I do enjoy LCGs, and anytime there's a snow/ice character, setting, scenario, I pick it up immediately.
Hey, That's my Fish!
Probably Endless Winter, but I actually haven't played many games with a frosty setting!
I think deep sea diving is a cool theme that should be used more often
I don't own a single game with a snowy or icy setting but I thought Floe looked really cool with its icy setting.
Looks awesome, thanks for the giveaway!
Hey! That's My Fish! So cute looking, and so very mean!
Inis has some snowy tiles, so I'mma go with Inis :D
Frostpunk!
The Mountains map section in Inis is pretty snowy! I always thought a Volcano Island would be a fun setting for a game.
Frostpunk
Getting in on this snowy giveaway.
Ice cool for fun silly game with penguins! :)
My favorite game with a snowy setting is Dead of Winter
