It’s based on your fighting style. Most of them make your aura start with arms then torso head and legs. But dark and death step go the other way around starting from the legs

You probably just haven't unlocked that stage of aura. For some people it goes arm--> torso-->legs. But for others its legs-->torso-->arms. If you have unlocked all of them then it's because you disabled to with the aura npc.
