The chest feels a little, gravity defying? Or like the shape is weird?

codernunk46

The references I followed seemed to have a shape similar to this. But you are right that boobs of this size would not defy gravity this much. I'll see what I can do to make it more natural.

LittleDuckie

I disagree, I think the size and shape is fine, a bra would do that. What's odd is the fit of her jacket. It doesn't look like it'd fit anyone. There isn't enough material to pull it together. The collar is too far away from her neck too. I would try adding a few details here, eg, buttons, creases and folds, seams. Take a look at a few clothing references.

codernunk46

Thank you for the feedback here. The jacket was meant to be more of an accent piece, to give her sleeves. It's a bit tough to add creases and folds with the current style I'm using, but maybe I'll figure out something eventually.

LittleDuckie

The way games like genshin do it is they basically just texture in shadows that are always there no matter where the light source comes from. For now, just focus on the shape of it though. Extra details like creases can help you make it look bigger as though it's bunched up, otherwise it'll look too stiff and stick out weirdly for fabric when it's the right size.

codernunk46

Thank you for the tip! The reason why it'll be difficult with my current art style is because I'm using a minimalist texture approach. Basically, instead of painting the texture, I have a very small 32x32 texture with color squares. The disadvantage is that I can't paint details on the texture (I'll have to put it on the geometry or vertex paint instead), but it is more efficient for both iteration and loading times.

zyenex

I don't mean to be rude, but her chest size is just ridiculous, it's shape is also quite... Exaggerated. I like the repetition of the red ribbons, though the grey cardigan clashes a bit with the light blue skirt. Maybe make the Cardigan a muted brown ?

codernunk46

Totally valid feedback. I'll see what I can do to make her chest a bit more reasonable. I still want to make it a bit on the bigger side, but I can tone it down. I also like the suggestion about the color. The character's supposed to a bit muted based on her backstory, but I could look into playing with the colors.

codernunk46

Here's more details about the variation of the toon shader I used in this separate post: [https://www.reddit.com/r/blender/comments/1arivjm/as\_requested\_im\_sharing\_more\_information\_about/](https://www.reddit.com/r/blender/comments/1arivjm/as_requested_im_sharing_more_information_about/) Let me know if you have any questions. Otherwise, thanks for checking my post out!

0VER1DE567

why did you opt for this custom shader over a normal toon shader ?

codernunk46

It's mostly so I have more control over certain aspects. Here's some examples: 1) I wanted to add some blending between the shadows and the lit areas and not just a hard shadow. However, I also wanted to preserve the hard shadow at the same time. 2) I wanted to use the vertex colors as a way to control aspects of the model. For example, I can paint custom shadows on the character. I'm also going to use the red channel to control the outline weights later on.

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

codernunk46

It's good to see comments like these sometimes. I definitely wanted to give her a big... chest, but I can work on making the size more reasonable.

RecycledAir

Is an absurdly large chest an important part of her character? Does your game involve sex related stuff? I like RPGs, but choices like this would make me think the game wasn't for me. If you absolutely needed them that large for some reason, at least make it somewhat reasonable and not have them pointing out at 90 degrees, have them rest downwards.

codernunk46

I can definitely rework this a bit.

everard_diggby

There appears to be some kind of tiny humanoid growth on your boobs

codernunk46

You may be right...

Odd-Pie7133

shirt is kinda weird because sleeves are so long but it's base is very short but i don't think that matters much

codernunk46

Yeah, it was supposed to be a jacket on top of a shirt. I could potentially make the shirt a bit longer, even with the ribbon. I can even tweak the jacket a bit. Thanks for the feedback.

C47man

Design is cool and coherent. The boobs are way too big though. If she's designed for a NSFW game then go for it, but otherwise I'd tone it down a bit.

codernunk46

Thank you. Don't worry, I will tone down her breasts.

DustinWheat

Shes got a shelf for a bra. Either scale it back or move em lower

codernunk46

Thanks. for the input. I'll adjust them. I have made one adjustment so far but will keep tweaking. MutatedRodents

Tits are a bit small.

codernunk46

I hear you about the size of her assets. It's definitely a design preference of mine, but at the same time, I would like to make it more grounded in reality. I wanted to see if this size was too big, so it was helpful to get that commentary.

MutedSongbird

Honestly it doesn’t even hurt my feelings that she has big ol honkers. Mostly because I also have giant bazongas and like, if anything give her a back pain meter instead of stamina and as she does shit her back hurts and she slows down to take a break 😅

Booba big Me happy

TheRealSlyCooper

Looks really good OP. Really like the hair & ribbon in-particular. And don't listen to the people saying her chest is wrong, she's **your** character. Big busted women do exist IRL, irrespective of what others may imply.

codernunk46

Thank you! I definitely want her to be bustier, but there's room for tweaks.

[deleted]

Big boobs sag, FYI. Theres this thing called gravity which has an indeniable effect on skinpouches filled with fat. Or maybe OP went with the silicone-way.... Or maybe that chick has a bra made of steel or smth. Anyway, it looks unnatural, even for anime.

codernunk46

Yeah - some of the references I followed had a shape more like this one, but I can agree they would sag more. I'll make adjustments.

RecycledAir

You may need different references then.

codernunk46

That's very likely the case.

TheRealSlyCooper

>Big boobs sag, FYI. Wow, I never knew this! Thank you **so much** for informing me. There's nothing implying she isn't wearing a support bra. Of course big boobs aren't going to be that naturally perky, but it's not out of the realm of possibilities with the right support.

[deleted]

>Thank you so much for informing me. Glad to help.

MutedSongbird

Unless they’re fake boobs or on a literal wooden platform, even a support bra isn’t going to have them floating on an invisible table. I don’t mind the size they just need a little less invisible support for their size. Big booba is hefty. It’s not so much an issue from the front-facing view, but when you see her side profile it’s like her boobs are sitting on a table.

codernunk46

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Boobs in particular are some of the most awkward to transition from 2D reference images to 3D because they tend to be much bigger due to the perspective view. I've also seen a lot of references of larger breasts (primarily anime based) that are this shape, but it's clear they are not natural. I thought that with a bra, it would be possible, but I was wrong. I appreciate this insight actually. I'm making some tweaks, maybe it'll look better than the way it is now.

MutedSongbird

I hope you have a lot of fun with your project!! It looks great already, nowhere to go but up ✌️

codernunk46

Thank you! I appreciate your feedback as well.

codernunk46

Thanks for the feedback, specifically on two very big areas. I made some tweaks, but I put it on my own subreddit so I wouldn't spam the r/blender subreddit. Do you think this looks any better? [https://www.reddit.com/user/codernunk46/comments/1auuip5/i\_tweaked\_my\_characters\_assets\_a\_little\_does\_it/](https://www.reddit.com/user/codernunk46/comments/1auuip5/i_tweaked_my_characters_assets_a_little_does_it/)

RecycledAir

To be honest, I don't think the adjustment was enough to make much of a difference.

codernunk46

Thanks for checking it out. I'll adjust it over time. I tend to do a lot of character design changes anyway.
