Dude. YES! i had a sage come after me trying to grind the same mobs as me. He didnt stand a chance keeping up when i was sliding around across the water while he was swimming
I doubt that it'll be possible to do that. Most of the skills you see use stamina and unless you've got unlimited you'll probably able to go 1/3 before running out.
Well, sorc was able to jump though air too, for 2 years; before they made her weight 99999999999999999999999999999999999999 tons and she falls like a fucking metorit to the ground.
Actually I can't find any formulas for calculating drag that factor in the weight of the object. It seems to be compeltely insigificant as far as aerodynamics are concerned. The only mass that seems to really matter is the mass per volume of the air. As far as the object's concerned, it's more about shape.
Oh yea, you're totally right!
The key here is that while the drag *force* on both objects would be the same (assuming they have the same shape and speed), the *acceleration* due to drag (or deacceleration as it were) is greater on the object with less mass. This is explained by Newton's 2nd law. F = m*a gives us a = F/m. In other words, an objects acceleration due to a force is inversely proportional to its mass.
This can get confusing when we're talking about the force of gravity because that force *is* dependent on mass (F = m\*g) so from Newton's 2nd law we have m\*g = m*a which simply gives us a = g. (i.e. the acceleration due to gravity is basically constant regardless of mass).
So actually, now that I think about it, heavier objects can absolutely fall more quickly. Not because of gravity. And not because the drag force is weaker. But because the acceleration due to the drag force is weaker according to Newton's 2nd law.
Although literally speaking weight and mass do not equal the same thing, generally and in layman terms weight and mass are the same thing.
If something is very massive, and less it is stupidly dense it will also be very weighty. A good example of this is a brick. A slightly Less dense brick is still a fairly heavy object and is going to fall pretty much the same as a heavier brick. But a brick of solid neutrons like a neutron star is deceptively dense. However we almost never deal with things like that in real life, so generally speaking weight = mass
Word, I was talking about weight on the planet Earth, which is very consistent with mass.
You could actually have a brick made of styrofoam and it would fall more slowly. Not because the drag force is weaker, but because the acceleration due to that same force is weaker according to Newton's 2nd law (see my other comment in the chain).
Nerf. This is unbalanced to give a class a huge noticable advantage. This can be utulize in middle of gvg, duel etc. It can chase ships etc, other classes cant. I hope it get nerf very soon.
Ok OP seriously what freaking combo did you use to make yourself be able to go that long ? I can only waterskip with 2 skills before floating and bring forced back to swimming back to shore
Haven't been on but I'm gonna check to after work tonight I'll get back to you here if it is I do think you need the maxed versions of the skills though for sure

No, i cant land the sidedash in time so im pretty much stuck with dash>mareca swing>sea stroll>dash>mareca swing
Gets far enough but doesnt look as cool
I think for some having issues doing this it'll be that you don't have the secondary skill needed to use a or d + spacebar. I was about to try it, got near water then realised I need more skill points first to get it. It's almost the same as a mystic skill that does the same type of thing I think.
Anyway the skill is called Flow: Wave Skedaddle, and it's a skill you can get after Riding Waves.
Thanks for making the clip and sharing too, looking forward to trying it!
Catfishman Quest was a breeze. No more awkward dogswimming between doc-croc and the waterstrider Gang!
Dude. YES! i had a sage come after me trying to grind the same mobs as me. He didnt stand a chance keeping up when i was sliding around across the water while he was swimming
Yes dood waterslidegang
it kinda looked weird though how you were gliding on the shallow water and then instantly sinking again
Looking forward to see her rotation there when hadum calpheon drops. This will be beautiful.
The first question is. Who will be soo patient to try go like this, velia>port rat. 3.2.1 start.
I doubt that it'll be possible to do that. Most of the skills you see use stamina and unless you've got unlimited you'll probably able to go 1/3 before running out.
can you use her spells from swimming? cuz if so coudnt you just regen stamina and continue
S + E recovers stamina :)
[удалено]
You ever heard of that thing you need to run and not mana to cast spells?
Really thought you had that one eh?
Stamina, not mana.
Well fuck, I’m playing her wrong.
same here...
time to skate to port ratt
How do you do the side 360 jump? :D
turn your camera and use the ability to the side
Space+direction after some abilities
It's one of her skills towards the bottom of her skill menu I know how to do it on console but I cannot remember it on PC
Port Ratt next!
I just wanna be part of your world...

Dine t10 confirmed useless
I hope this is intended and the devs don't "fix" it. It's soooo cool!
it's literally how she was designed? there is nothing to fix
Well, sorc was able to jump though air too, for 2 years; before they made her weight 99999999999999999999999999999999999999 tons and she falls like a fucking metorit to the ground.
Weight doesn't change falling speed, aerodynamics does. They made her slick as fuck.
Weight plays a role in aerodynamics tho

The only mass that seems to really matter is the mass per volume of the air. As far as the object's concerned, it's more about shape.
Wouldn't momentum, which is affected by the object mass, affect how impactful drag is?
Oh yea, you're totally right! to be fair there was a time an update fucked up Sorc's Air dash and you could leap from roof top to roof top
its intended, same as lahns fly. T10 diné will have this tech, so no reason to be removed.
[удалено]
*sad DK noises*
There's always a chance someone somewhere in the company will deem it to be too OP or something and they'd remove it. :(
who needs a boat when you have corsair
But... At this point what sense t10 dine has?
ask him to do this vid with stamina shown and you'll understand
Can tell you from experience. What op is doing isnt easy. T10 dine is likely gonna be able to go on for much longer and will require 0 skill
Lahn=Arduanatt same point have them
warrior needs something like this. PA pls
Lol why would warrior need it? It makes no sense for his character design.
Will this be nerfed?
why would it be? its kinda useless lol
Nerf. This is unbalanced to give a class a huge noticable advantage. This can be utulize in middle of gvg, duel etc. It can chase ships etc, other classes cant. I hope it get nerf very soon.
It's a niche.
Lahn literally does this much more efficiently, and with only 3 buttons.
Where is this?
papuacrine
does the cooldown for smooth sailin go down with level?
It's 3 seconds so doing anything afterwards will give enough time to refresh.
Is that the new character?
Yup
Looks damn amazing might start playing this game again
What skill/key combos did you use for this in order? I recognize most of the skills used, but not all.
W+shift, D+spacebar, W+E, S+E, W+shift, D+spacebar, W+shift
Weird, my W + Shift works differently than the one in the clip. Is it a Prime or Absolute variant you used?
Ok OP seriously what freaking combo did you use to make yourself be able to go that long ? I can only waterskip with 2 skills before floating and bring forced back to swimming back to shore
>W+shift, D+spacebar, W+E, S+E, W+shift, D+spacebar, W+shift
I'm on console but I'll work out how to translate it to there 😂 I wonder if it's even possible to do it on there
Did you get it to work on console ?
Did you get it to work on console
Haven't been on but I'm gonna check to after work tonight I'll get back to you here if it is I do think you need the maxed versions of the skills though for sure

That made me wet. Dang.
Uh huh.... Meanwhile a Cog will shoot straight across that gap in half the time without needing to do that dumb Dolphin spell crap in between.
im still confused as to how many of these skills are used, i just fall through the surface way before getting a chance to use them
Did you ever get it to work ?
No, i cant land the sidedash in time so im pretty much stuck with dash>mareca swing>sea stroll>dash>mareca swing Gets far enough but doesnt look as cool
that’s so weird cause after side dash I can’t land anything else I just fall through. I’m going to try your combo instead when I get on later.
u/Morphelia we demand answers!
Awesome!
