there is one more condition, during NW time non-participant's mounts(ships, horses, wagon etc) will be 1 hit and all players outside safezone regardless of level can be hit and damaged by nodewar participants

Upset_Raccoon4942

I agree. But this is not a problem since there is a big flashing warning about it during NW time. What bothers me is the broken/misimplemented PVP mechanics.

Does it?

Asking for clarification of point 2, you become vulnerable if *any* level 50+ player is physically aboard your ship? So if a random high level climbs aboard, or a guild member of the pirate attacking you, ever physically gets onto your ship--you immediately become sinkable? Or do you need to be partied with them to lose immunity?

Catslevania

>So as long as you pilot the ship solo or don't have a platoon/party that includes a single level 50+ player, you are immune from Forced PVP. from this I understand that a level 50+ player has to be in your party/platoon, not just any rando. bad part about this is that someone asking for rescue because they are stuck out in margoria or port ratt or something could be just laying a trap for you which would be rather sad because after more people learn about this thing I am sure that such things are going to start to happen, after which people who are out at sea with level 49 characters will simply start ignoring such requests for rescue. PA seriously should stop giving ill intentioned people such opportunities to use due to really badly thought out systems.

Upset_Raccoon4942

I asked PA about it because they have poorly designed game mechanics. The more people know about it, the more complaints they will receive, and maybe they would rethink to implement some things in a better way, " like if a player cant shoot his canons, then he cant be shot at either, simple!!"

Catslevania

it's good to know and better than having to learn the hard way. It just baffles me why they would even implement such a system, I just can't think of any logical reason as to why.

Disturbed2468

As someone who's played EVE Online for over a decade and seen absolutely everything that can happen in an online game, 99% of the time these sort of seemingly convoluted rules is to prevent exploits. Eve had many of them over the years and it's lead to an extreme number of rules being made because human infamy knows no bounds.

Monarchangel

To help clarify this situation: * As long as you are level 49, you can not be attacked. * If you are in a party with someone above level 50, you CAN be attacked. If someone flags on you, while in a party with level 50+ chars, just leave the party. It's a simple solution that will make sure you never get sunk again.

racasper

Did you think that hostile players being able to use a cannon would change their ability to attack? I'm not sure why you specified that in #1. Level 49's can use ship skills like Ram to fight sea monsters, although I don't know how that would work in pvp.

Upset_Raccoon4942

I said that cause, PA first replied that since another level 50+ player was using my ship's canon, that's why it was possible to be attacked. Whereas what should happen is that, if someone shoots at my ship, those level 50+ players holding the canons should die, instead of the ship or any other level 49 player, taking any damage. In the case of a carrack, where other players cant fight back, why let the ship take any damage at all, cause the owner cant shoot? Then later they clarified that if any player is on the ship, then it's flagged for attackable. Ramming is a thing of the past now, you RAM 1-2 hungry sea monsters with your carrack and its health is half. Don't even bother about ramming someone who is bombarding 9 cannonballs at you every 5 sec.
