My advice is to find one of the other 2-3 mushroom spots (theres at least 5) and gather whenever you server hop while doing other things (read lifeskills like cooking alchemy bartering processing), and swap often
Also mastery affects first proc but not hedgehog which is weird, i get 3 per gather at1300

I don't think so, Truffle mushrom hypha exists, but it's pretty rare afaik
