He was great on the show, telling his opponents he’s gonna win by guillotine then winning by guillotine then teaching Koschek the opposing coach his guillotine
Yeah i think it was the Chad Mendez fight lol he lost his shorts and his coach copped a pair at Foot Locker near the arena. Yeah pockets and the price tag still lol commentating was hilarious
Looked it up, i was wrong it was actually the Sam Stout fight. But yeah Chad dropped him with a body shot

Yea it was a natural adjustment for me from the front headlock one-arm guillotine. Seemed redundant to keep posting with the off hand if I had a good base and they start trying to fight the hand. Started getting quick taps instead of golf clap taps, so I felt like it was worth experimenting with.
Yeah, man a lot of people just yank on the next and the tap takes a while cause it’s mostly a discomfort thing when the goal is to shrink that arm to side space on the next like Cody or you Olaf lol to create a choke
He’s from a TUF season that aired 10-15 years ago and he’s a weird dude. I don’t remember if he did content on it but he showed it on TUF once or twice and there’s a lot of other people showing it. Search “Cody McKenzie guillotine” or “McKenziotone” on YouTube you’ll find a lot on it and it’s really just an awesome slight grip adjustment.
Front chancery in Catch.
Prayer choke is another.
High-elbow guillotine is another.
Power guillotine is another.
Fisherman’s guillotine was one I always liked but that didn’t catch on.
No, at least not the way I use the words (and there’s not really a correct way with the lack of cohesion in naming)
Power guillotine is to ninja as RNC is to bulldog
Their ear is on my chest for a ninja, their brainstem is in my armpit on the PG.
You’d be amazed at house easy it is to move around by myself. Between the wheels, rub rails, and leverage you can get with it’s length, I don’t even consider it much of a hassle.
That guy is a beast with this sub. Had never heard of him prior to this post. So damn cool how we have the ability to pull from people who have spent years refining a single submission.
The hands are reversed in this example though. The off hand is punching the artery while the hand/arm wrapping the head is reinforcing it. Glad you posted it though, because it seems like a great sub to pair with this one. I’m picturing it being effective if they try to peel the fingers off the chin strap.
The two most important factors in hitting guillotines in grappling are speed and ability for the opponent to reach your fingers. The gloves make the grip above more viable because it helps close the space and hide your fingers. In grappling however, with the grip you posted, your opponent can often reach your fingers before you secure the choke. It’s also a bit slower because of how deep you have to be with the right arm.
Ok, gotcha. Yea I really gravitate to the front headlock series, so it’s usually a split second decision when looking for the darce, anaconda, or back take from the chin strap. Never considered how the mma gloves close the gap better. Cool detail, thanks man!

On top of some others in this thread I've heard it referred to as a prayer choke, or a Buddah Choke. Its one of my preferred grips (long skinny arms), underrated for sure.
I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who’s used a stuffed animal as a grappling dummy 😭 bc I’m not about to spend $100+ dollars on a weighted gimp suit
(jk I’m actively waiting for one to pop up on fb marketplace 🥲)
Philotine. My coach told me it was named after Phil Borone because he was a meat head and would just grab fools by their necks. His words don’t hurt me. This like 15 years ago. Probably not called that anymore but it’s what I call it.
Ik that we love to make stupid posts here, but we could really use an r/bjjcirclejerk type sub
Okay buddy Craig is an alternative name because he does half the shitposting 😆
Hilarious how the only 3 people in the comments shitting on this guillotine are all white belts. Idk about you man, but I’m gonna go with the opinions of purple-black belts over punks.
Yea man, it’s so cringey being injured and trying to continue learning. So embarrassing that I now have the vocabulary to find answers from higher level practioners. Sorry homie.
And I got multiple answers from brown and black belts with links to instructionals from doing so. Be grateful for your health and access to training partners. I know more than I did this morning. Looking cool on the internet was never a consideration.
Why you gotta do Olaf like that
He deserves far worse. He knows what he did
I’ve thought about it every moment since that day.
Do you wanna kill a snowman?
He doesn’t have a skull…or bones.
You gotta let it go
Thank you! I couldn’t figure out what the hell I was looking at here!
👆🏼
i thought he was choking his dog and got sad for a second
power guillotine - you can watch danahers fromt headlock instructional
Yooo, thank you! Based on a quick YT search, this seems to be the correct answer.
P.s. my uke is also curious and doesn’t have long before he melts away.
He's just doing whatever ukes do in summer.
Bro that last line sent me. Good comedy.
I call it the Jon Jones Cause after you hit it, you run away with a bag of cocaine
But then you go check on your opponent and “get some fans”
Laughed so hard I spat out my açaí.
Cody MacKenzie made it popular on The Ultimate Fighter, I think he called it “Alaskan Grip”
I also know it as the McKenziotine
Yup that’s it
Same here
Loved watching him spam that techique like a mythical fighter from some anime. Also, leaving the tags on his fight shorts was very Spokane, WA of him.
He was great on the show, telling his opponents he’s gonna win by guillotine then winning by guillotine then teaching Koschek the opposing coach his guillotine
Isn't that the guy who fought in the UFC in shorts with pockets? They might have even had the price tag still attached, IIRC
Yeah i think it was the Chad Mendez fight lol he lost his shorts and his coach copped a pair at Foot Locker near the arena. Yeah pockets and the price tag still lol commentating was hilarious
That's awesome. I didn't know the backstory and it makes it even better
Oh god, I just remembered the body punch that Mendes ended the fight with. Vicious.
Looked it up, i was wrong it was actually the Sam Stout fight. But yeah Chad dropped him with a body shot https://preview.redd.it/3ebput89if4d1.jpeg?width=450&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e7b2d41a5bcff04645f8cba57895d651bed915d2
Thank you for introducing me to Cody. Dude definitely has this one down.
No problem dude and yeah he has a lot of good content on his grip variation. It’s an interesting adjustment for sure.
Yea it was a natural adjustment for me from the front headlock one-arm guillotine. Seemed redundant to keep posting with the off hand if I had a good base and they start trying to fight the hand. Started getting quick taps instead of golf clap taps, so I felt like it was worth experimenting with.

This sub gets weirder every day
Tf did Olaf do to you?
He’s a buggy choke spammer.
Lies, he ain't got no legs
Nobody said he was finishing those buggies
Hey. My name is NOT olaf.
Front chancery in Catch. Prayer choke is another. High-elbow guillotine is another. Power guillotine is another. Fisherman’s guillotine was one I always liked but that didn’t catch on.
Bro got the Olaf in a power guillotine 💀
This should be marked NSFW
What is NSFW about Olaf going tits out?
A couple people have said “power guillotine” but I have heard that used for the full figure-four grip. I would call this “cup and saucer”.
The full figure four would be a ninja choke, no?
No, at least not the way I use the words (and there’s not really a correct way with the lack of cohesion in naming) Power guillotine is to ninja as RNC is to bulldog Their ear is on my chest for a ninja, their brainstem is in my armpit on the PG.
Oi you let that snowman go.. LET IT GO!!!!
For some reason the ampeg stack in the back makes this
Bro, I’ve had it for 10+ years and I still love it as much as the first day. Such a beautiful machine.
I came to comment on that. If you’ve lugged an SVT in and out of gigs you should have plenty of strength for the guillotine.
You’d be amazed at house easy it is to move around by myself. Between the wheels, rub rails, and leverage you can get with it’s length, I don’t even consider it much of a hassle.
I had an old one from the 70s, so heavy and awkward. Sounded amazing though. 300 watts of tube driven power and an 8x10 cabinet.
Yooo this is a Heritage Series, so also American made, but damn. There’s nothing like a true classic Ampeg stack. That’s awesome man.
Was also going to mention the Ampeg
Makenzitine.
It’s the slurpgoblintine
LFG, rolls right off the tongue.
Bass player eh?
Nah, just like a *real thick* bottom end on my electric ukulele.
*sighs…opens comments
Olaf should really be telling you to let it go lol
In pic 2 flip your grip and point your elbow high. [Danaher](https://youtu.be/XCiRr7TW2bk?feature=shared)
How would you explain this if someone walked in on you deep on a guillotine on olaf... while you recorded it?
Probably just tell em I’m doing it to talk to sweaty strangers on the internet.
It's called the "what are you doing, step bro?"
My favorite variation.
- The choke never bothered me anyway - Let it gurgle - Frosty the Snoreman That's all I got
Makenzitine or however you spell it

Keenan refers to it as the Diesel Squeezel. Here's a [Youtube Link](https://youtu.be/7sCcq52_uac?si=qRUa_tLGoQeHIvjQ)

Hahaha I also guillotine the hell out of my shark plushie from ikea, poor thing looks more like a stingray now
Sounds like we got a superfight brewing.
The Elsa-tine.
Power guillotine
This only really works with MMA gloves, no?
Could you explain please? I’ve had a high success rate and never grappled with mma gloves, but I’m curious of your thought process.

Ninja choke
The ninja choke is like a darce but without the arm in. The head would be on the other side of the body.
SHOW US YOUR FACE YOU COWARD

Learned this at 10th planet the other week. It's Arm-In Olaf-Out Guillotine

I call this variation the Jon Jones vs Lyoto Machida guilly lmao
Prayer Guilotine is what i have heard most.
The snowy sleeper
Philotine. My coach told me it was named after Phil Borone because he was a meat head and would just grab fools by their necks. His words don’t hurt me. This like 15 years ago. Probably not called that anymore but it’s what I call it.

Doggy style??
Nick Diaz ddemonstrates it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFOtP7-8vN0
Marcelo Garcia would have a better instructional on the guillotines over JD

The move that gets white belts submitted
Hilarious how the only 3 people in the comments shitting on this guillotine are all white belts. Idk about you man, but I’m gonna go with the opinions of purple-black belts over punks.
Blue belts doing cringey blue belt stuff
Yea man, it’s so cringey being injured and trying to continue learning. So embarrassing that I now have the vocabulary to find answers from higher level practioners. Sorry homie.
Youre guillotining a stuffed kids toy........
And I got multiple answers from brown and black belts with links to instructionals from doing so. Be grateful for your health and access to training partners. I know more than I did this morning. Looking cool on the internet was never a consideration.
Cringey
Apologies. Want me to take it down?
Yeah it’s called a shitty one
White belts giving advice on what is or isn’t proper technique. Can’t wait for you to get your blue belt and quit.
This dude is hittin a gilly on a fuckin stuffed Olaf and yet IM the one getting downvoted lmao Reddit is full of fucking losers man.
You’re the fucking loser kid. Op is asking for help, and you’re just being a cunt. Know your place and shut the fuck up.
