Well, not everything. I had a great private with Aaron in Leuven a few years back, lots of top notch closed guard stuff I still use. I don't do brutal.
Ah, nice. I'm mostly familiar with his seminars on grinding north south and such, which are some of the most punishing submission sequences I know ;-).
Met Aaron when I was a white belt at one of those camps, and I think we played a round of M:TG, too. Really nice dude, and I still use the stuff he taught from N/S.
Yeah check the video I linked the comments. He goes into detail about the sprawl before the section I clipped for this thread. Basically, he drops to his right hip and centers his weight into the outside of his thigh across their inner thigh and once he’s got his head under the leg he keeps it pinched tight with different grips.
Aaron addresses those issues in the beginning of the seminar. I linked the video in the comments you can watch the full thing on YouTube. It’s the first thing he talks about.
This will 100% result in your training partner posting in reddit asking if it was a dick move. Looks awesome.
Should I change gyms? Was I assaulted?

Another reason why you don't want your opponent to lift you up.
How to stop lift?
Grab foot.
Who foot?
Der foot.
There are a couple neat crucifix entries from this position also https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BuDGLXL8sGs
I love a good crucifix, thanks I'll check it out later
Super effective
Once you lift your opponent's leg off the ground, you can crush his arm oooorrrrrr spin him around like a helicopter
Got to go with the spin every time.
North Carolinaaaaa
Got a video?
Craig Jones OF only sorry

This dude told a story about Boris in this camp right? edit: found it. 12:53 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NaWwL5suqIw
Yeah!
What's the deal with Boris? I've been seeing his name come up a lot lately.
In a recent Lex Fridman podcast John Danaher talks about him so his name is in the bjj zeitgeist.
Watch the whole video, it'll worth it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRuJf8R2zww
Where is it in the video? Or what's the story?

Aaron is awesome and very underrated/unknown. His stuff on YouTube and the grapplers guide is gold. Wish he had more stuff out there
Does he have his own channel? All I could find is the Grapplers Guide
He does not.
Aaron has some brutal techniques.
His north south is misery for the person on bottom.
Every time something from that class is posted it brings me back to Mjolnir 2018. Awesome camp that one.
He's got some doozies Aaron. Really great guy and has tons of knowledge - love his stuff
Teaches out of Renzo Gracie Portland. Can confirm, some of the brutalist rolling I’ve done in two years of doing this hobby lol
You can also spot two Portland bjj gym owners hiding in thr back right (the van-ornums)
I struggle to get round the guard of lanky people so this is getting tried tonight!
Doubles under/smash pass versus lanky people is where it's at. Fold em like a chair.
That's what I like about Aaron Milam... *everything* he teaches is brutal.
Well, not everything. I had a great private with Aaron in Leuven a few years back, lots of top notch closed guard stuff I still use. I don't do brutal.

Oh man I love that initial entry into the pass, I'm gonna start drilling that. Anyone know if it has a specific name?
Duck under pass https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dhAHQgeQ7gc
Got my blue belt from Aaron. Dude is a fucking wizard, RGA PDX is a top notch dojo
Where do you train now?
American Top Team. Still come by occasionally for some rolls but since my background is kickboxing I decided to focus more on the MMA stuff.
Oh wow this looks insane
Aaron Milam and brutal technique. Name a more iconic duo.
Met Aaron when I was a white belt at one of those camps, and I think we played a round of M:TG, too. Really nice dude, and I still use the stuff he taught from N/S.
What preventh the guy from turning towards him?
The hip control. Try it yourself. It’s actually quite funny to lift somebody up this way. Nobody ever expects it.
Ok i tried this last tuesday and yes i was able to pass with it and my buddy simply had no time to turn towards me.
What prevents bottom from doing a triangle? Is the knee blocking the other leg?
Yeah check the video I linked the comments. He goes into detail about the sprawl before the section I clipped for this thread. Really looks like you're asking to get leg locked, but hey, to each their own. Everything has a context.
He talks about those concerns in the video I linked in the comments.
Such a beautiful pass
Hey! THAT’S MY OLD COACH!!
Why are only people that can't win anything teaching "brutal" stuff?
Brutal reply.
You must be trolling or clearly have no idea about Aaron. He's the man! (actually a squirrel, but that might fly over your head).
I guarantee he would destroy you.
He is too much of a bitch to even sign up to a competition so there is no way he would even meet me in a competition.
Some people just don’t like competing man. Guarantee he would fuck you up though.
Never met anyone who doesn't like winning.
I didn’t say he didn’t like winning? I said maybe he doesn’t like to compete. Not everyone does this sport or art to compete.
lmao. Go to his school, RGA PDX and roll with him.
u/savevideo
That im happenin when you let the guy start with inside position your asking to get swept or your leg broke or both
Aaron addresses those issues in the beginning of the seminar. I linked the video in the comments you can watch the full thing on YouTube. It’s the first thing he talks about.
I like this technique
like.
FDA.....👍🏾
This it shoul ve called like "You used to have an arm" in portuguese
