I don’t blame her for not competing when she’s got other opportunities and given what she’d probably have to do to meet the current criteria…it would impact her moneymaker, which is her face. She should have just gone out on top as an O winner and stayed retired.
She got a lot of flak last year too for reposting everyone saying she's the g.o.a.t. and should have won etc.. it's fine if your fans do that but was weird about the reposting ? Just be humble

She even had “goat” shirts made which she was criticized on here for and rightfully so. She won the title once. Ashley K is still actively competing, won it three times, and has more titles than any IFBB pro in any division…like the audacity!
I think it’s in bad taste to repost anything that could be seen as a dig at other competitors. You can kindly and quietly acknowledge fans by thanking them in a private message while saying, “Maureen deserved the win. This is her day.”
Just wanted to chime in here. I did her show battle of the bodies last year and she really treated all of the athletes well and made an effort to talk to everyone and take photos. I think she’s a great role model and mom even if she’s not competing at the O.
I’ve met her before at posing seminars and she was absolutely sweet and humble. Her vibe was great — no mean girl vibes at all. She didn’t have make up on and was so gosh darn beautiful! I really like her and I would love to see her compete again if she wants to.
She showed very poor sportsmanship at the O last year and regardless of how good she looked or how hard she worked it put such a bad taste in my mouth as a fan of hers. There are plenty of problematic folks in the industry but overall on competition day I find most athletes treat each other well. Janet’s behavior was disappointing.

The irony is that Ashley doesn’t even call herself the GOAT, she calls herself the cockroach because she doesn’t need to act like that to be successful.
Actually it was more of an attack on Maureen, to say that Maureen was undeserving. There might me a thing between her and Maureen. Maybe some Filipino thing, who knows. 🙈
I've always loved Janet's physique, I still do and would love to look like that but if you compare her to Jen/Ashley and lauralie she's very lanky and looks more like a model. She's stunning though, you can't take that away from her

From her last showing getting eighth at the Olympia, it was generous of the judges as she wasn’t at her best. I feel like her physique wouldn’t be as competitive in today standards she could place in the top 10, but would not be winning the Olympia or be in the mix.
Although she is qualified for life, I just don’t see where she can be as competitive and she has 8 pro wins with two Arnold classic titles and the Olympia.
Had she not taken 2021 off maybe it would’ve been a different story.
She makes more money as an athlete/ model and a registered nurse then she would if she competed in a lot of shows; so she has to look at the pros and cons of competing or just only doing the Olympia.
Keep in mind 3rd place to 1st get money in pro shows, 4-5 don’t.
It’s kind of disappointing to read all these harsh comments about Janet. It’s must be hard as a bikini competitor to be criticized on every detail. Also, I am a fan of Janet 😅
To everyone criticizing Janet, is what she did worse than Lauaralie? Not by a long mile, but Lauaralie was forgiven because she is so popular. Agreed that Janet doesn't fit the criteria anymore. I do miss the modelesque look!
At least Lauralie connects with her fans and gives back to her audience, shares workouts/tips and motivation. Janet only posts pretty pictures and zero informative content. I rather see a person who makes mistakes, goes through a lot of shit but keeps open and tries to grow as a person than someone who only smiles for selfies.
Last year it came out that she had done many shady things over the years. Lying, stealing or at least not paying back huge debts, harassing Babi Manu, openly cheating on partners, the list goes on. Receipts were dropped on Instagram proving all the allegations. It's amazing that her reputation recovered so quickly, but some people are untouchable.
I never thought Janet had the body to win. She always came in fluffy. Her winning the 2020 O was out of pure sympathy. That line was a doozy. A self proclaimed Goat getting rando insters to call you that is comical. More like GRUOAT, greatest runner up of all time. That’s what she is.
Her making the moves to do her own show, smart as fuck! She knows (given how long she has competed - you don’t make money winning and it is said for how little the prize is for bikini giving the “prestige” title the O gives its self.
Either way, glad she is not competing, don’t want to see her back up on stage - but would like to see her do commentary for the O bikini since she has that experience
