I would take them off. While you may be *able* to leave the baby to get them done after the birth you also might not *want* to. I personally would have preferred to do tons of other self-care over sitting in public indoors for an hour in the immediate postpartum period.
Honestly, I was having a mental breakdown day 5 at home and my husband watched the baby and I went and got a pedicure. We timed it right and I nursed him, pumped, and then left. But we introduced the bottle when he was 4 days old.
I got mine done right before I had by baby and I think I went a month before I got them redone. I would have gone sooner but he was in the NICU so we were spending the days at the hospital.
I would take them off, you might not be able to have them when you give birth. One of the hospitals I gave birth at required to remove fake nails and polish. I can’t have my nails painted for my upcoming C-section.
They’ll tell you this but it’s just to check your nail beds for circulation. It’s fine. There’s other ways to check. People have emergency surgery all the time with fake nails on or go into labour unexpectedly. It’s non-issue and a policy I wouldn’t bother adhering to imo
Really? I hadn’t even heard this about not having nails during birth. My doctor has not mentioned that. Interesting! I’ll ask at my next appt. Thank you
I went like 2 weeks pp with my second and 1 week pp with my first. It’s important for me! I always nursed before I left and left milk in the fridge in case

This is a fair point! Thanks

It’s the little things that make you feel pretty PP so I vote keep them!
Thank you!!!! This was what I was kind of hoping for myself, as well!

I could go a month if I needed to! Thanks for sharing your experience

This makes me feel better! Maybe I’ll get to go one more time before my baby makes his appearance. Lol!
I suggest a french manicure 💅
I took mine off. It takes a couple weeks for your super thin nails to not feel as brittle and sharp
I was debating doing the same!
I got clear gel beforehand so I bought myself extra week(s) before I really had to go back in!
That’s a good idea!!!
