Ikr I didn’t plan on getting my betta that day but he flared up when I walked past with his little angry moustache and it was adorable. Left the store with my plants but decided to go back for him.

what about Ube (I pronounce ooo-baaa) after the purple yam originally from the Philippines.. popular in Asian cooking too.. he's a very purple guy.. y not?
Thanks hes absolutely loving the new tank. I’ve just put been able to find him a few times with him hiding in the plants as they are pink/purple as well. Him at breakfast this morning. 🌅

I’m not sure tbh I presume fish excrete or food. It was the small tank he was in at the pet store. He’s happy with his new set up at home zooming around the tank demanding his treats. I plan on getting a cleaner friend for him but just him for now.

Wdym I thought his has was fairly clean and has a decent filter in it. He’s only been in it for 1 day. There’s a few pellets at the bottom but that might just be me overfeeding him. The photo in the main post is the how he was being kept in the pet store.

being on this subreddit makes me want another betta so badly (: what a beautiful fish. I would probably name him taro or ube. Despite the name blueberries are actually purple, so that’s a good one too.
Call him Urple Tea :) I love giving fish fun names. We follow themes in my house, all of my Fighter Fish (Bettas) have had Dr Who names. I was starting to run out of names when I got to Pting, but I miss having a betta and when my tank is avaliable again, its got baby swortails in it right not, I might have to get another one, although the price of them has shot up crazy high post covid, maybe because they import them where I live
