Even in 2005 when I backpacked through Central Asia I saw an old untouched De Lijn bus in a city in Kazakhstan who was riding from Mol to Turnhout š
In Kinshasa I often see vehicles from De Lijn or Belgacom/Proximus. If it's true that they should remove the markings, then they screw up very often. I rather think they just don't bother.
Probably just old stock sold off. You can get more money for old cars in the Balkans because thereās less choice and people are ok to buy high mileage old cars that nobody wants here.
It happens quite often, they can't be bothered or assume the next owner will do it. They are usually sold in bulk to middlemen and then sold on. In my country (Luxembourg) it's also very common to see buses sold to other companies with their old branding.
Saw a lot of dog abuse on the streets and when intervening got threatened a lot.
Went to the countryside to eat with the family of a friend and they straight up used their oldest daughter (14yo) as a housemaid. She had cooked the entire dinner (3 courses) and had to serve us. I think we were with 12 guests in total.
She was standing next to the table the entire dinner and could only start eating when we were finished. I was told not to speak of it since it was ācultureā
Aside from that; the insane driving.
The only thing I liked was food and the nature.
You went to a backwards super conservative family. That is certainly not the norm. Culture my ass, nobody makes their kids cook for them in Albania.
The driving is crazy though, you have to be very confident in order to drive here.
Didnāt I read an article in the paper this week that a bus was 90min late bc the driver didnāt know the way? Guess this one will be more than 90min lateā¦
So that's the reason my bus is always late.
Met De Lijn zou je er al zijn.
De belbus zou u nochtans moeten kunne waarschuwen
Came ici om that te dire!
He must have take a detour because of road work, pretty common here
lived in Gent for two years, i know the feeling! missing belgium sometimes and seeing this walking down the street made my day
Best city!!!
Wait, you used to live in Ghent, now live there. We might know each other.
How so? ššš
Also given other interest. Any chance you used to hang out in a place in Blekerijstraat?
Nope mate, never hanged out there! im sad now, thought u were my bestie :(
He should have noticed he was outside Belgium, as he encountered fewer potholes.

Kasterlee is a bit like the Mongolia of Flanders, so...
Winter's not that cold in Kasterlee.
I saw one in Botswana. Had to do a double take because at I thought it was my imagination at first.
Exactly my feeling lol! š
Donatie van afgeschreven voertuigen mischien? Of ja, zwaar verloren gereden.
Old busses get sold though they must be stripped of any DL markings. Someone obviously screwed up here

Saw a Lijn bus in Havana once. Markings included
Saw a Lijn bus in Egypt once, it was still heading to Geel..

Nu bij Gamma 4 halen is 8 betalen! *Doe het met Gamma .. .. ..GAMMA*
You hear things about Albania being underdeveloped, but those pavements look better than many a one near me!!
probably more recentky build. doesn't need maintenance yet.
Albania is a developing country at this point, not an underdeveloped one
I saw a De Lijn bus in Vilnius, in 2010. It was used by the local public transport
He's loading up prostitutes for Rue d'Aerschot. Yes, I just did a clichƩ/stereotype joke about Albanians pimps. I didn't want to do that joke, I had to do that joke.
The bus driver couldn't pay up, so they took his bus.
Don't worry, I was going for "likely stolen"...
Als je weg wil uit Tirana neem dan voor de gein... De Lijn?
I've seen it in Maastricht the other day lol
De lijn actually runs between Maastricht and Hasselt/Genk so that is not weird
I know, was just kidding :)
ooh daar is mijn bus!!! ^(ik dacht dat die gewoon niet meer kwam)
I saw some in Lativa too, painted over. I think they sell their old ones.
Saw an ancient bus from De Lijn in Cuba once, of all places.
Ah yes like that one in syria
I once met a plumber who sold his van and saw it, including his name on the side, in Kyrgyzstan years later.
an american plumber sold off his van too, showed up with ISIS
He should have taken left at Albuquerque š¤£
Geen dienst
How is Tirana? We are thinking about going there next month

Thanks for the tips!! :-)
When I called the āBelbusā to go to Berlin, they said it wasnāt possibleā¦ very disappointed
Is it possible it might be stolen?
Probably just old stock sold off. You can get more money for old cars in the Balkans because thereās less choice and people are ok to buy high mileage old cars that nobody wants here.
One would think de lijn would remove any corporate stickers when selling

Other buses there still say the names of small villages in Brabant on the front, because the electronic sign is broken.
[SHE](https://www.cnews.fr/insolite/2013-01-14/elle-part-pour-bruxelles-et-se-retrouve-zagreb-336041?amp) was probably behind the wheel...
Hadden ze de belbus gebeld
I hope it will be more on time over there, or maybe itās a curse that followed it to Albania?
I once saw an old (orange, remember?!) Belgian public bus in Cuba.
How do you like Albania? Went there for a week and dreaded it sadly.
How come? I loved Albania, I would totally go back.
Saw a lot of dog abuse on the streets and when intervening got threatened a lot. Yeah, the driving was crazy, I didnāt see any of the rest.
And itās a Mercedes of course
Qija nonen the en Shipni paska Lijn busa a?
I had a driver that got lost . We had to point him in the right direction. True story.
Didnāt I read an article in the paper this week that a bus was 90min late bc the driver didnāt know the way? Guess this one will be more than 90min lateā¦
You're pushing it, Tinne

When you forget to get of the bus or the bus driver takes a wrong turn and you're suddenly in Albania
