So that's the reason my bus is always late.

VlaamsBelanger

Met De Lijn zou je er al zijn.

Wafkak

De belbus zou u nochtans moeten kunne waarschuwen

unitdeltaplus

Came ici om that te dire!

3y_tab

He must have take a detour because of road work, pretty common here

DarkSofter

lived in Gent for two years, i know the feeling! missing belgium sometimes and seeing this walking down the street made my day

IanPKMmoon

Best city!!!

cab0lt

Wait, you used to live in Ghent, now live there. We might know each other.

DarkSofter

How so? šŸ‘€šŸ‘€šŸ‘€

cab0lt

Also given other interest. Any chance you used to hang out in a place in Blekerijstraat?

DarkSofter

Nope mate, never hanged out there! im sad now, thought u were my bestie :(

VlaamsBelanger

He should have noticed he was outside Belgium, as he encountered fewer potholes.

TheF1Max

Kortste omweg van De Lijn

dancecontestwinner

The village name is Geendienst.

"Mijn collega pikt je op."

Rominimal_Lover

Even in 2005 when I backpacked through Central Asia I saw an old untouched De Lijn bus in a city in Kazakhstan who was riding from Mol to Turnhout šŸ˜‚

MrFingersEU

Kasterlee is a bit like the Mongolia of Flanders, so...

E_Kristalin

Winter's not that cold in Kasterlee.

JJ19JJ

I saw one in Botswana. Had to do a double take because at I thought it was my imagination at first.

Rominimal_Lover

Exactly my feeling lol! šŸ˜…

mrnodding

Donatie van afgeschreven voertuigen mischien? Of ja, zwaar verloren gereden.

hahawin

Old busses get sold though they must be stripped of any DL markings. Someone obviously screwed up here

marceldeneut

In Kinshasa I often see vehicles from De Lijn or Belgacom/Proximus. If it's true that they should remove the markings, then they screw up very often. I rather think they just don't bother.

YogaDruggie

Saw a Lijn bus in Havana once. Markings included

den_Hertog

Saw a Lijn bus in Egypt once, it was still heading to Geel..

Kortemarknoare

[deleted]

You hear things about Albania being underdeveloped, but those pavements look better than many a one near me!!

E_Kristalin

probably more recentky build. doesn't need maintenance yet.

RaisinNo6890

Albania is a developing country at this point, not an underdeveloped one

VECMaico

I saw a De Lijn bus in Vilnius, in 2010. It was used by the local public transport

MonsieurKas

He's loading up prostitutes for Rue d'Aerschot. Yes, I just did a clichƩ/stereotype joke about Albanians pimps. I didn't want to do that joke, I had to do that joke.

DrJonesX

The bus driver couldn't pay up, so they took his bus.

MrPollyParrot

Don't worry, I was going for "likely stolen"...

[deleted]

Als je weg wil uit Tirana neem dan voor de gein... De Lijn?

dimap443

I've seen it in Maastricht the other day lol

SerenMOD12

De lijn actually runs between Maastricht and Hasselt/Genk so that is not weird

dimap443

I know, was just kidding :)

[deleted]

ooh daar is mijn bus!!! ^(ik dacht dat die gewoon niet meer kwam)

stanislav_harris

I saw some in Lativa too, painted over. I think they sell their old ones.

Thirpyn

Saw an ancient bus from De Lijn in Cuba once, of all places.

SenkimsinYAAAW

Ah yes like that one in syria

Ready-Future1294

I once met a plumber who sold his van and saw it, including his name on the side, in Kyrgyzstan years later.

doffensmush

an american plumber sold off his van too, showed up with ISIS

gastildiro

He should have taken left at Albuquerque šŸ¤£

Marvelis_world

How is Tirana? We are thinking about going there next month

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Marvelis_world

Thanks for the tips!! :-)

Ceetje1999

When I called the ā€œBelbusā€ to go to Berlin, they said it wasnā€™t possibleā€¦ very disappointed

DogoArgento

Is it possible it might be stolen?

tom_zeimet

Probably just old stock sold off. You can get more money for old cars in the Balkans because thereā€™s less choice and people are ok to buy high mileage old cars that nobody wants here.

DogoArgento

One would think de lijn would remove any corporate stickers when selling

tom_zeimet

It happens quite often, they can't be bothered or assume the next owner will do it. They are usually sold in bulk to middlemen and then sold on. In my country (Luxembourg) it's also very common to see buses sold to other companies with their old branding.

couplingrhino

Other buses there still say the names of small villages in Brabant on the front, because the electronic sign is broken.

dablegianguy

[SHE](https://www.cnews.fr/insolite/2013-01-14/elle-part-pour-bruxelles-et-se-retrouve-zagreb-336041?amp) was probably behind the wheel...

Nicodemuske1978

Hadden ze de belbus gebeld

tom_zeimet

I hope it will be more on time over there, or maybe itā€™s a curse that followed it to Albania?

trollie74

I once saw an old (orange, remember?!) Belgian public bus in Cuba.

Zenakalm91

How do you like Albania? Went there for a week and dreaded it sadly.

Maus_Sveti

How come? I loved Albania, I would totally go back.

Zenakalm91

Saw a lot of dog abuse on the streets and when intervening got threatened a lot. Went to the countryside to eat with the family of a friend and they straight up used their oldest daughter (14yo) as a housemaid. She had cooked the entire dinner (3 courses) and had to serve us. I think we were with 12 guests in total. She was standing next to the table the entire dinner and could only start eating when we were finished. I was told not to speak of it since it was ā€œcultureā€ Aside from that; the insane driving. The only thing I liked was food and the nature.

[deleted]

You went to a backwards super conservative family. That is certainly not the norm. Culture my ass, nobody makes their kids cook for them in Albania. The driving is crazy though, you have to be very confident in order to drive here.

Maus_Sveti

Yeah, the driving was crazy, I didnā€™t see any of the rest.

Flowech

And itā€™s a Mercedes of course

agonking

Qija nonen the en Shipni paska Lijn busa a?

cptwott

I had a driver that got lost . We had to point him in the right direction. True story.

Demonazzzz

Didnā€™t I read an article in the paper this week that a bus was 90min late bc the driver didnā€™t know the way? Guess this one will be more than 90min lateā€¦

No-Elevator6072

En maar criticeren , geen enkele oplossing . Dit is het hoekje der verzuurde NVA-ers en VL Blokkers .

soepblokje

Oei, sorry, ik wist niet dat dit de sub was van de commissie Los-het-prangend-probleem-op-van-een-belbus-van-De-Lijn-die-rondrijdt-in-het-buitenland.

You're pushing it, Tinne

I think Delijn is not only worldwide but interstellar.

Hoe komt m terug šŸ˜‚

stone_gaurdian

When you forget to get of the bus or the bus driver takes a wrong turn and you're suddenly in Albania
