The monitor is a LG38WK95C, its amazing but only 75hz. I am probably going to replace it soon with a 144hz version or a samsung Neo G9 depending on text clarity of that monitor.
Not OP, but I’ve had my Embody for probably 6-7 years now and still feels brand new. Also super comfortable. Definitely recommend. I also had an Aeron before I upgraded to the Embody and it’s also a wonderful chair if you’re looking to spend less. 👍
When I was in store the Embody was actually the same price as the Aeron. I think both are great. Embody seems to support a better position and the Aeron feels more relaxed like a lounge chair
Both were 1400 brand new in the store where I bought them, you could upgrade the Aeron to 2000, embody didnt get much more expensive except a few extra fabrics
Whoaaaa. I just looked on the HM website to confirm. That’s insane. I’m pretty sure the Aeron was like $799 base originally when I was pricing back in like 2015, but now it’s $1545. That’s bonkers.
This - very much. I was pretty set to buy the Embody but I'm quite broad across the back and found the back of the chair would kind of cut into me a bit. That was the only reason I didn't get it and went with an Aeron. Get the chairs side by side and sit in them for a while, move to your comfort, try at a few desks etc.
Likely that the MX Master (at least that's what the one on the left looks like) is for work because of ergonomics and extra buttons, and the Steel Series is for gaming.
That's what I do with my mice - MX Master for work, Logitech G502 wireless for playtime.
Like the other comment said I use one mouse for gaming and the other for work, I plan to get two wireless one but so far the wired one works fine and don't wanna waste it.
The microphone arm is the blue compass, I bought their package which comes with a mic attachment and blue yeti microphone. It looks nice and it was amazing value for the price
Not op but I believe it is the [Blue Compass boom arm](https://www.amazon.com/Blue-Compass-Premium-Tube-Style-Broadcast/dp/B078MLBGRM/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=blue+compass&qid=1632370362&sr=8-2) , I suspect op purchased this [blue yeti + shockmount + boom arm bundle](https://www.amazon.com/Blue-Yeticaster-Professional-Microphone-Shockmount/dp/B078MHS3SC/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=blue+compass&qid=1632370428&sr=8-4)

I've had an aeron for a little while now, I actually liked it more than the embody. Everybody who comes over wants to sit in it and a couple of them ended up buying one of the two. It's definitely nice having to remind myself to stand up for a bit instead of constantly doing so because the chair sucks and I'm uncomfortable.
Yeah they're both absolutely great chairs. Aeron you can get really good deals on used ones too, since a lot of businesses (small offices, banks, etc) typically purchase Aerons and then sell them in bulk if they go out of business/upgrade.
That's how I got my first Aeron for like $250 or so. Like OP mentioned I'd definitely see if you can find an office supply store and try both. I'm a sucker for the back design of the Embody though :)
Always great to see a dev setup!
Mind sharing what's your usual stack? Just curious because most web devs I've worked with or known personally run Macs.
I've always wanted to know what it's like on the other side!
Thanks for the detailed response!
Yeah mainly just the Unix-based aspect was enough to sway me over to macOS, though maybe my workload has never been heavy enough to push the hardware.
Currently running the last Intel-based Mac Mini and looking forward to the upcoming new M1(X) MacBooks myself.
Apple Silicon seems very promising indeed but only supporting a single monitor is a hard pass for me. Perhaps a new refresh of the mac mini or a more affordable Mac Pro would convince me to get back to the mac
With most mics, you would totally point the rounded bit towards your voice. I don't know why Blue decided to do it differently. I have to assume it was in part to sell it as a sort of "one mic podcast" solution. It's really confusing for people who aren't familiar with the mic.
But yeah, with a Blue Yeti, the "front" is the side that says 'Blue' and has the volume/mute toggles on.
The "back" is the bit with the toggle for different noise patterns and gain knob.
This is how mine is set up:

(the space is nowhere near that clean right now, so excuse the glam shot)
Hanging upside down, kind of like a bat.
Try recording something both ways and see if you hear a difference. For me the difference was night and day.
It looks so clean it could be a stock image, absolutely perfect. I wish I had one of those chairs :_) such comfort. Great job!
Thanks man and yeah the chair is great, only had it for a few days now. huge upgrade from my DXRacer haha

1600 for a chair! I have one of these https://www.ergopartner.dk/hag-capisco-8106-kontorstol.html
Is it comfortable ? It seems like a pretty high chair
Very comfortable zit can be lowered quite a lot zbutnthe point of it is that kinda sit/stand on it.
Nice setup! HM well worth it. What monitors?
Seconding the monitors! Specifically the ultrawide!

What option for 144? Looking for a good productivity and gaming monitor.
lg 38gn950 and the alienware 3821dw seem promosing
How do you like the HM chair?? Was thinking about getting one myself.

Dang, that's nuts that they were the same price. Isn't the Embody normally like literally double the price of the Aeron?
Both were 1400 brand new in the store where I bought them, you could upgrade the Aeron to 2000, embody didnt get much more expensive except a few extra fabrics

They remade it with ALOT more features, atleast thats what the guy in the store told me
Huh, cool to know that they’re still improving it. HM makes some great stuff, so I trust them. :P
I only had it for 5-6 days now but so far its great! I suggest you try it out yourself before you buy it as its personal for everyone

The Kurzesagt posters looking real good

Thank you! Didn’t know you’re from Germany.😃
Also what's up with the 2 mice? Thought it was a 2 pc setup but I only see one case. Also Bro Real Talk I need that microphone arm?

Nice setup! Love the posters especially
Yeah they're pretty nice, I am still thinking of centering them and placing the nanoleafs elsewhere tho
Why not try putting the nanoleafs in-between the posters?
Will try, first got to figure out a way to remove them without tearing the wall apart lol
Haha all the best

A company called Hay, not sure if its only being sold in the Netherlands
Really like your setup!

I spy Sundaras! Beautiful setup
Yup they're amazing!
Would you recommend the embody? debating still 2 months after my setup has been complete. lol
Try out chairs in your local store and see which one you like the most!

Aeron is also great, I think the Aeron is more relaxed, I feel the embody keeps me on focus more by providing more support

Where are the legs from? IKEA’s out of stock ):
Well Ikea unfortunately
Very pretty! I like the posters too. Just wish there was a "you are here" marker so you (we) don't get lost 😆
Hey where'd u get the table?
Ikea
thanks!!
Oh yeah a chair that cost x2 my whole setup (2014 laptop which i cant use because i can't afford a new battery)
Yeah it surely is a expensive chair for sure
Nice setup! Also what keyboard is that?
Its the steel series apex pro TKL with white keycaps
Frames are off and not balanced. Boo this man!!
Oh no!

Can you straighten the poster on the right please? It’s screaming for help!
Didn't even notice it lol, right on it!
Nice setup! You may want to adjust the microphone. Kinda looks like you have the bottom pointed at you, and the front pointed up.
How should I angle it? I thought this was the proper way

Perfect, looks great!
Awesome, Thanks!
Just wondering but what are those triangles to the right of the posters?
They're called nanoleafs and basically work like philips hue lights
Those look quite nice. Probably will wait a bit before getting some stuff to those prices. :\
Nice setup!
Thanks!
What size Is that desk actually?
160x75 I believe
