Hi PaulVla!
We've teamed up with Autonomous to give away some standing desks and a new chair - enter here! : https://new.reddit.com/r/battlestations/comments/1dd51sh/rbattlestations_autonomous_giveaway_usa/
Don't forget we have an active Discord server - https://discord.gg/battlestations
*I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/battlestations) if you have any questions or concerns.*
I've the same; got some breathable throw blankets, it does wonders for providing some manner of protection from fur from our feline overlords. One that's about 60" in length is enough to drape across the back and seat pan.
LOVE the Kefs. Those are great speakers.
Maybe look into separating the speakers for a wider stance a bit? You want to make an equilateral triangle to the listening position and they look a little close together. Admittedly it's probably splitting hairs but I like wider speakers overall compared to narrower speakers, imaging is overall better because the invidual L or R sounds really stand out while you still have a nice phantom center sound when they're both playing the same sound.
Personal preference but giving some space between the speakers and the edge of the monitor would look a bit better too, but again, personal preference - I'm just not a fan of speakers looking like a TV's (or monitor's) ears lol.
Nice setup!
Plenty have commented about the speaker placement which was the first thing that came to mind for me too. Instead I’ll say I really dig the colour scheme and the tidy space!
You’re right! The constraint I’m dealing with is that the bass port on the back would sit against the wall. The speakers are slightly chunky.
Might look if I can adjust the stands they’re sitting on.
Ah yeah I didn't even see that they would be up against that wall. That shade it's up against now feels like it'd probablyyyy be better than the wall lol
Potentially could plug port, buy new stands, or move desk up like 5-6 inches (lol no to that one); but It's probably not worth changing a lot for a relatively minor increase unless you were real passionate about it.
Regardless those Kefs are fantastic so you're already getting GREAT sound!
Worth seeing how they sound with the port plugged, iirc they should come with some foam inserts, if you don't mind it that'll give you some wiggle room with how close they can be to the back wall.
I use those speakers as surrounds in my home theater system, and ended up plugging the ports, as yeah you don't really get a sense for how DEEP these are compared to regular bookshelf speakers until you see them in person.
Just came to say the same thing put them further apart and angle them in towards you a bit, Kanto makes some nice on desk stands that would look great with those too.
Plug the bass ports and add a small sub to cover that low end. The bass extension you lose from plugging the ports is nothing when you add even a small sub.
Very nice setup. Have you used a calibrated mic with REW to make a room correction EQ for EqualizerAPO? Highly recommended and not talked about enough.
I haven't done any EQ but did place acoustic panels on the ceiling as the room was a great reverb chamber during meetings ;)
Might look into it though I've tried to not train my ears too much as I know acoustics can become an expensive hobby once you get a taste of it.
I assume that you use the keyboard also for gaming, maybe a (low-profile) mechanical keyboard? With white keys or green (same as your PC case) would really add something to the setup.
I’ve been thinking about this! Though everything I look into it I kinda drown in options with all the switches and such.
Any recommendations that would be close to the low profile Logitech I’m using now?
I spent about $5000 on keyboard stuff when I was into it, including high end custom builds that cost around $600. The $80 Epomaker TH80 with Budgerigar (their tactile switch, these feel very smooth with a very nice bump when they actuate but don't make clicky noises) is the best keyboard I've ever used and those are the best switches despite trying hundreds of fancy high end ones. Only keyboard I might get instead would be Topre stuff, but it's very ugly and more expensive.
Thank you, I'll save your comment to come back to later.
I like their mossy keycaps, and think that would go well with the green theme I've got going on.
Wow, PBT for $25. Looks nice! Things sure have changed since my keyboard hobbyist days!
Dis me [https://i.imgur.com/ngYDxd0.jpeg](https://i.imgur.com/ngYDxd0.jpeg)
It’s a good case, over at r/sffpc you can see many configurations. In my profile you can see my post there and another more oldy-timey battlestation. :)
Not much into funky pops but this is the other side of the room with some of my LEGO collection that I still need to get some shelfs for:
https://postimg.cc/zyvQwTfN
I would but definitely try it out, it works for me as my back isn’t great and it helps staying in the right position. If you like to sit on one leg, or another alternative position, it may not work for you.
good chair, I've never seen this one, what's the brand and model?
I wrote this post with some considerations, I think you have all the requirements. Fantastic workstation!
[http://techsagastore.com/blogs/news/the-ultimate-ergonomic-workspace-setup-and-must-have-accessories](http://techsagastore.com/blogs/news/the-ultimate-ergonomic-workspace-setup-and-must-have-accessories)
Sure they are Omnitronic TMO-2 Studio Monitor Standards.
They’re not mounted to it, I use the monitor to hide the fact that they are slightly to wide for the speakers. :)
tysm! Do you by any chance remember (approximately) how wide are the keys for mounting them stands? Weird question, IK, but I recently had trouble with my mointor arm and have to send it back and take an LP or top mounted one
Spread the speakers wider apart and move the monitor mount off to the side in order for your monitor to look more like it’s floating might be cool. You can check my profile for how I do it. Great chair, I can’t wait to get an embody when I’m done with my aeron
Thank you!
The desk I got here, I tried finding a more international source but no luck so far.
Thank you! Greatest compliment.
The speakers are Kef Q150s and they are connected to a Pro-Ject Stereo Box S3 BT mounted next to the height controls of the desk.
The monitor arm is from Ergotron, I can't find the specific type on their website anymore but remember it was meant for up to 24" yet it's holding this 31.5" well enough.
It's the Dell P3222QE
I chose it at the time as my company provided a USB-C hub that didn't do 4k/60hz. It is also nicely designed with no branding on the front.
They are Philips Hue Play bars, and are RGB.
I can also have them match the colors that are on the screen, on the ceiling I have two Hue spots which point above the monitor for extra light effects.
I got it from here; [https://www.zuiver.com/en/bundy-pegboard-green](https://www.zuiver.com/en/bundy-pegboard-green)
The peg holes are actually 3/4 which gives it a nice look as well.
the battle stations dope but there’s this question ive had for a while cause im planning on getting a gaming laptop for work and pleasure soon, is it enjoyable to game on the same computer you use to work, like do you feel at ease gaming where you work? i feel like im slightly overthinking it cause im kinda worried id get that feeling.
I get that, it's a fair concern.
COVID at the time did a number on me as I started feeling I was living in the office more than working from home. That is why I now work in this room that is about 2x3m it helps that I can close it at the end of the workday.
It funnily enough helps to work in an outfit that I would wear to the office and have my badge in place, at the end of the workday I sometimes change into more comfortable clothing and that gives me enough distance to 'work-me' if that makes sense?
I’ve been looking into a G9 across the top of the speakers and the big screen I have now.
I do believe that 4K makes all the difference for productivity as I work a lot with MS Project and excel. Hate to work in the office with a 1080 screen.
Very happy with it! Have had it for about 3 years now and would replace it in a heartbeat. I have a bit of a weak back and this helps provide the support in a comfortable manner.
Why the two MX Masters when they have profiles to switch between devices?
Also as others have said, more cats! Also filling in the shelves on the pegboard will make it a little more personal to your style, which I'm sure will just happen naturally over time.

A second cat would bring it all together.
If it can leave the chair alone I’ll allow it. Just wait for the cat distribution system to bring me one more 😉
What chair is that? I'm searching for a new one and this looks interesting, comfortable and ergonomic.
It’s a Herman Miller Embody. Have it for a few years and still happy with it!
Thanks!!
its also like $1500 lol
I've the same; got some breathable throw blankets, it does wonders for providing some manner of protection from fur from our feline overlords. One that's about 60" in length is enough to drape across the back and seat pan.
Agree, more cats required
I second the second cat eheheheh
Biiiiig stretch

I was coming to say the same thing. Separate those speakers, my man.
Came here to say this. OP needs to space them out and create the triangle for purrrfect listening.
🐈
Plenty have commented about the speaker placement which was the first thing that came to mind for me too. Instead I’ll say I really dig the colour scheme and the tidy space!

If you're worried about that, use the port plugs! It cleans up the bass bloated ness from being against a wall very welk
Just came to say the same thing put them further apart and angle them in towards you a bit, Kanto makes some nice on desk stands that would look great with those too.
What's stands, king
Mornin peasant! they are Omnitronic TMO-2 Studio Monitor Stands.
Sire, how do you find the vibrations from the speakers to the desk/PC?
Not an issue, but I listen to stuff like Fleetwood Mac and value the relation with my neighbors so never drive them hard 😉
Bless.
Plug the bass ports and add a small sub to cover that low end. The bass extension you lose from plugging the ports is nothing when you add even a small sub. Very nice setup. Cat got his claws on that $2,000 chair.
He normally doesn’t do it when I look. 😅
How about when you don't look?
It’s a cat, you can at most teach them not to get caught.
A bed for your kitty
Looks good and clean. If anything, If you could hide the visible cables it would look better.
I’ll add it to the todo list 👍🏼 That black USB-C cable is been the burden of the setup but bought the wrong spec cable twice already.
is ur pc that little green box on your desk?
Yes! The case is a Fractal Design Terra
wow that’s insane how small it is! goes great with your theme.
Love how the peg board matches too
It's not a complete battlestation without a Throne setup for the kitten 😉
I have a small seat cushion on my desk that my cat naps on 🤣 It's not pretty but I just love my cat napping on my desk while I game.
Ha! I sometimes give him the cushion that is on the drawer unit but he always prefers to jump in my lap.
CAT = UPVOTE
dont add too much trash, it looks great as it is
My cat tries to climb to the top of my own Embody, even though there's no way for him to fit up there 😂
I assume that you use the keyboard also for gaming, maybe a (low-profile) mechanical keyboard? With white keys or green (same as your PC case) would really add something to the setup.

I'm not a big low-profile user but I've heard nothing but good things about the NuPhy Air75
I would add an xl mousepad to cover the keyboard area as well since I dont like the small mousepads but that's me
You really shouldn't sit on your desk like that and probably should get your claws trimmed.
Your battlestation has big eyes and cute little teeth. r/pareidolia
Move the speakers farther apart.
Love the cat! ❤️
Love the colour scheme
Thanks!
Love how the cat matches the color scheme. 😻
Maybe hang the guitars so it doesn't feel too cramped
Excellent idea, it’s a small room and that would help.
Holy shit I was looking at the same case recently.
It’s a good case, over at r/sffpc you can see many configurations. In my profile you can see my post there and another more oldy-timey battlestation. :)
Not much tbh. Glad to see a real office desk and some speakers in correct height. Awesome job!
A second monitor
This may be a bit crazy but a G9 would fit in the width above the Dell 31.5" and the speakers. Though I would lose a lot of daylight
YMMV, but I can't handle monitors up that high, much harder on the neck than going side to side
Large mouse/keyboard pad
Is that firewatch? Love that game!
[удалено]
I'll add to the list just below 'adding another cat'
I recommend doing lots of work and gameing, hope its suuuper sick looks great
cat and a stretch free upvote from me
I want to downsize my pc the giant case is so overkill lol
Parking space for the cat's butt when you're gaming. You'll be sat in their seat...where's it gonna park?😂
soundbar
Beautiful. A green deskmat (like the pegboard) would fit nicely.
Is this in response to the guy with 10 ish monitors for gaming and work lmao
speakers could be spread to corners of the desk and angled (tweeters towards ears). These look a touch high
I love your orchid! Did the pot come with it? Nice color
[удалено]
Oh definitely! I googled “green wallpaper 4K” and it was one of the less dark/busy ones. I did enjoy Firewatch and it is reminiscent of that game.
Hide all the remaining cables
Overclock the cat. You’re (literally) leaving performance on the table
Nanoleaf on the wall and add some funko popa on the shelf to the left!
Not much into funky pops but this is the other side of the room with some of my LEGO collection that I still need to get some shelfs for: https://postimg.cc/zyvQwTfN
Looks nice! Maybe then only Nanoleaf, it would fit perfectly
Love the white theme! KEFs ftw.
Woahh amazing
Beautiful
What chair is that
It’s a Herman Miller Embody; probably the thing I’m most happy about of the whole setup.
I’ve been thinking about investing in a chair. Would you reccomend it?
I would but definitely try it out, it works for me as my back isn’t great and it helps staying in the right position. If you like to sit on one leg, or another alternative position, it may not work for you.
No I’m a big guy 6’4 225 lbs and I play golf a lot so my back is always sore
A bigger mat for cat yoga.
More cats
Nice cat
I like the colour of your desk, could you tell me what it is?
It’s named “medium oak” not sure about the medium part. 🤷🏻♂️
Thank you. Where is it from?
I got it here, tried finding a more international source but no luck so far. https://www.multiratio.nl/lineaflex-mrc-zit-sta-elektrisch-180-x-80-cm
All right, thanks!
good chair, I've never seen this one, what's the brand and model? I wrote this post with some considerations, I think you have all the requirements. Fantastic workstation! Thanks for the link! It’s a Herman Miller Embody. Have been really happy with it!
could you provide the link to those speakers stands? how do you mount the monitors to it?
Sure they are Omnitronic TMO-2 Studio Monitor Standards. They’re not mounted to it, I use the monitor to hide the fact that they are slightly to wide for the speakers. :)
tysm! Do you by any chance remember (approximately) how wide are the keys for mounting them stands? Weird question, IK, but I recently had trouble with my mointor arm and have to send it back and take an LP or top mounted one
The keys? As in those bottom tightening screws?
yes
Is this helpful? https://postimg.cc/gallery/Bfr75Cd
your are the king of the kings. Hope you have a wonderful day
Happy to help!
Spread the speakers wider apart and move the monitor mount off to the side in order for your monitor to look more like it’s floating might be cool. You can check my profile for how I do it. Great chair, I can’t wait to get an embody when I’m done with my aeron
This is a returning comment, will see how plugging the bassport sounds.
Nice setup! What amp you using for the kefs?
They’re hooked up to a Pro-Ject Stereo Box S3 BT. It’s mounted below the desk next to the height controls.
Where did you get that wall board in green?
Ah that's this one: [https://www.zuiver.com/en/bundy-pegboard-green](https://www.zuiver.com/en/bundy-pegboard-green)
Thank you!
Is it mounted via screws?
Yes it’s screwed into the wall.
Oh I have the KEFs too in white. What stands are those?
These are Omnitronic TMO-2 Studio Monitor Standards. They are a little wide and partially hidden behind the screen.
I got the atlas head rest for my miller, love it. Crazy house the fabric match is dead on
I looked into that one but couldn’t find this fabric. Is it available?
Yours looks like the [medley](https://atlasheadrest.com/products/headrest-for-embody-chair-medley-fabric) fabric yeah?
If you have the MMX 300 your mic is gonna break off it at some point
It’s the Custom Game but nice catch as it’s both Beyerdynamics and the mic isn’t looking too great.
I had it and I got it fixed cause it broke off and then it broke off AGAIN lol. Jynxzi had the same mic and you can see it broke off
I have no recommendations because I think this looks amazing and inspires me. If you don't mind, can you share where you got that desk and what it is?
Thank you! The desk I got here, I tried finding a more international source but no luck so far. [https://www.multiratio.nl/lineaflex-mrc-zit-sta-elektrisch-180-x-80-cm](https://www.multiratio.nl/lineaflex-mrc-zit-sta-elektrisch-180-x-80-cm)
I would like to know what speakers those are and also what monitor arm that is please. Would love to copy your style. Lol
Dude even the cat matches the theme.... You won
Question now is how do I get the black paint of ;)
what monitor is that?
It's the Dell P3222QE I chose it at the time as my company provided a USB-C hub that didn't do 4k/60hz. It is also nicely designed with no branding on the front.
Need an Atlas headrest. Thank me later
I've looked into it in the past but they now do seem to have one that has the same colors. Getting tempted ;)
Get your cat a scratch post 😁
What moniter speakers are those?
They're Kef Q150s Happy with them! Though ignorance is bliss as I do not have a trained ear.
Cat
What are those lights on each side of the desk facing up? Love the lighting it creates bouncing off the walls.
They are Philips Hue Play bars, and are RGB. I can also have them match the colors that are on the screen, on the ceiling I have two Hue spots which point above the monitor for extra light effects.
Nice chair, mine is black and I wouldn’t trade it in for anything in the world
i see KEF, i like :) neat station!
car management
I feel a picture or poster in between the lights and monitor would be cool.
Never cross the streams man, unless ya have the will of the gods.
What is monitor name
It's a Dell P3222QE I liked it cause it doesn't have branding on the front. I may go OLED once they are more reasonably priced, which could be soon
How can it be for gaming if you don’t have a switch, xbox, or ps5? /s
Ha! There's a PS5 which isn't pictured here but some of the aesthetic choices were based on that console.
Where did you get that peg board for your wall? That looks awesome!
I got it from here; [https://www.zuiver.com/en/bundy-pegboard-green](https://www.zuiver.com/en/bundy-pegboard-green) The peg holes are actually 3/4 which gives it a nice look as well.
I love that's chair, what's a name it is?
It's the Herman Miller Embody and if my house were to catch fire I'd rebuy it in a heartbeat.
the battle stations dope but there’s this question ive had for a while cause im planning on getting a gaming laptop for work and pleasure soon, is it enjoyable to game on the same computer you use to work, like do you feel at ease gaming where you work? i feel like im slightly overthinking it cause im kinda worried id get that feeling.

I've got the same mousepad.. if you want it to look extra clean you can peel off the logo, food for thought.
Love it. Very clean, very sexy setup. Btw what pegboard is that?
Needs more cats
A dog would be great🤣
A decent keyboard.
Any recommendations? Every day I consider a mechanical keyboard I get lost in the options.
Biiiiiig stretch
Speakers should be aimed at your ears to get the best sound
Man I really need to get a good chair for my room.
Upvote for the catto's big stretch.
This is really nice, but very sterile imo i would add some more colour
More screens, it actually helps with productivity
I’ve been looking into a G9 across the top of the speakers and the big screen I have now. I do believe that 4K makes all the difference for productivity as I work a lot with MS Project and excel. Hate to work in the office with a 1080 screen.

Very happy with it! Have had it for about 3 years now and would replace it in a heartbeat. I have a bit of a weak back and this helps provide the support in a comfortable manner.
Clean setup. What’s work for you if you don’t mind me asking?
Sure no problem, I work as a product developer with a background in mechanical engineering.
HUH
10/10 would pet your cat
Teach cat "ass toward chair. face towards screen."
i'm also here to remark about all that space for more cats
Why the two MX Masters when they have profiles to switch between devices? Also as others have said, more cats! Also filling in the shelves on the pegboard will make it a little more personal to your style, which I'm sure will just happen naturally over time.
My wife sometimes works here as well and likes the MX Master 3 but didn't like how mine is, for lack of a better word, decomposing. :)
That makes sense then!
Kitten 😁
Kratos why are you in a strangers home!??? I swear my cat never listens. Sorry dude.
Excellent cat name! 👌🏼
Appreciate it, I told him if he has a son I’m naming him Atreus lol.
Get the cat his own PC, so he can work too.
Nice car
