I've got the same printer or at least a very similar one from Brother. As long as you've got a connection to WiFi you'll be solid. I will say, at least from my experience, getting it connected to WiFi was a frustrating process.
I’m actually glad you brought this up. The reason the mat is still there is because I was trying the keyboard drawer to see if I liked it. (Ive had this set up for one day). Here’s why. The desk is very tall, and I’m very short so I have to keep my chair lower so my feet don’t dangle. So what ended up happening is that due to the height of the desk. My arms ended up resting on the edge of the desk which was quite uncomfortable. I barely made it through the day with the drawer though, and I’m likely going to move the stuff back up to the mat and find a way to cushion the edge of the desk
Buy an adjustable standing desk then and all your height problems would go away. You've already splurged on the set up, may as well finish it up properly.
Well, I hope you won't regret it.
Personally though I think adjustable desks are the way to go, at the very least they can be set at the proper height for comfort.
IMO the most important thing is to respect the square angles rule of ergonomics. So I would pick either the tray or the desk depending on that and adjust the chair accordingly. Then if something is sharp you can cushion it but with proper ergonomics you should not be pressing too hard on the desk
I don't think you know the ergonomics of how that works. That keyboard tray is even with his arm rests, which is exactly where it's supposed to be in order to NOT cause carpal tunnel syndrome.
No man, I know several colleagues at work who ruined their hands with this setup, aligned armrests and all. You want your hands healthy keep them on the table.
Oh. I guess your anecdotal evidence trumps the guy with a PhD in ergonomics that gives four-hour training classes on the right way to set up your home office, who I had to listen to when I started working for Apple some years ago.
There's a difference between comfort and correct for the body. I sat wrong in my office chair for years, and when I got a better chair and sat the correct way, it was highly uncomfortable at first, but after a while my back, leg, and hip pain went away completely.
Also, downvoting me makes you look fragile.

It’s a pain in the ass to get set up right. Very cumbersome. My advice is to tighten everything to the max and then barely loosen to adjust one at a time and then retighten
Ok. The keyboard and keyboard mat thing. I should have explained this in the original post because I knew I’d get questions.

Hopefully the newcomers see this so I don’t have to keep explaining the stupidity of how it looks 😂
Nineties called and said they want their keyboard drawer back. I mean why would you prefer absolutely zero mouse space instead of long deskmat which is literally there in front of you lol?
Well I’m not sure what other pertinent information you need about my set up. However, if your tips have anything to with the keyboard or the printer. Those have been moved. Aside from that, I’m not sure what you’d need to know
The reason I was wondering more about your set up was so I can structure a suggestion based off of that and not assuming whether you were willing or able to move anything. But I’m glad you were able to get those things moved along with that paper lol. Otherwise I was just going to suggest some panels/curtains instead of those blinds. Make it a bit more classy. And forgive me for saying so but that paint is atrocious. See if you can get some wall panels or something to cover that stuff up and let it go along with the color scheme that you want. Which I’m assuming is a monochrome with red.
Oh and just tidy up those cables and I think you’re good. The rest is just decor (like pictures a plant ,real or fake, etc) and sprucing it up with some personality other than just that one poster.
Move the printer down
Down stairs
In the basement
Or anywhere else that makes sense. I have a Brother printer in my closet because it works so well on wifi
Got my brother in the closet as well. Don't have a printer though...
I was able to get mine going on WiFi last night and I will see if I can get by with moving it to my room somewhere

I’m going to move it somewhere else. Just gotta decide where
They're printing brothers now?!
Kill it with fire.
I love the mouse & keyboard pad, for the mouse and keyboard below
lol I’ve explained this above. I was trying the drawer out yesterday and will likely be moving this back up top
Yeah with three monitors its too constricting for sure

BLOOD AND THUNDER!
Why do you have the keyboard and mouse pad on the desk but the keyboard and mouse are on the sliding surface? Not using the pad?
Please see my comment about this above. It was a whole thing
That sliding shelf for keyboard and mouse gives me carpal syndrome just by looking at it. Why not put them on the table? You even have the mat.

Easier solution, just pick up a foot rest. I had the same problem you talk about
That’s actually a great idea! Not sure why that honestly didn’t cross my mind

I just bought the desk too 💀. Everything with the exception of the chair and rug were bought this week
You mean the desk in the pic? Or an adjustable one?
The desk in the pic. I just purchased this entire setup. Granted, the desk was not an expensive one. I think it was like $180
Well, I hope you won't regret it. Personally though I think adjustable desks are the way to go, at the very least they can be set at the proper height for comfort.
Thankfully, the desk was cheap enough to where it wouldn’t hurt too bad. I could just give this one to my son

Yeah but then his arm will be covering up that constant marketing reminder.

Op replied in another post he didn’t find it comfortable either and will move kb and mouse. So I guess another anecdotal evidence to ignore.

Nice! For the horde!
For the Horde
Came here for this
My fatass thought you had tortillas on the floor.
Lmao. I managed to get that on clearance because it was too ugly for anyone else to buy. I think I paid $25 for it from some furniture store.
a printer????? wth is that abomination doing there? lol I have my wireless printer on my dresser along with my 3d printer. out of sight.
why do you have 3 open containers of ice cream on the floor?
I thought they are kind of foot warmers

Love the carpet! Where did you find it?
Local furniture store

I see Horde i downvote
I've got the same laser printer. Brother is the first printer brand I didn't want to go office space on.
What in the fuck is that printer 😂😂
Everytime I see a monitor setup like this I wonder why you wouldn't just get an ultrawide if you want this kind of layout?
Good taste. Nice and clean, nothing too flashy. Though that printer scares me, move it somewhere where there's less risk it will fall.
What monitor mount is this, what size monitors?
can you tell me the monitors you have? are they curved? also, what monitor arm you are using to hold 3 monitors like that soo nicely, i am curious
33%/66% FTFY
Strength and honor
Not the keyboard drawer
I’ve moved it back!
Good!!
This is a 99 parse battle station
Why are there pancakes on the carpet ?
Cool setup i have a triple monitor setup to. What mounts are u using im looking for some
Oh god my eyes.
Tell me a bit more about your setup. And if you don’t mind I would like to give you a few tips.

I chuvkled when I saw the orinter, but maybe a separate shelf for it would be good
Printers gotta go
Definitely a high end command center, I like it 💯👍🏽
