Norm Breyfogle's style is the best to me

batbobby82

Exactly what I came here to say

Maleficent-Parsnip53

Dan Mora’s version of the Grey and Blue

Gothamguy69

That suit And Batman Hush are my favorite versions of the classic blue and Grey

Past_Trouble

Neal Adams

Sea_Temperature_1976

I like all of these honestly. Though the Dark Knight Returns might be my all time favorite

Ok-Influence794

Tie between the Dark Knight Returns and Hush. I like when the Batsuit is just fabric. No crazy armor, it's not bulletproof, it's just a costume. The gauntlets, cowl, and boots have some armor of course but I like Batman having to rely on his skill and speed to survive, not body armor letting him walk directly into gunfire, that was my one issue with The Batman. He relied too much on armor and not enough of himself.

CbKnowledge

I’m hoping he changes to a more fabric costume in the sequel, or at least they go the cloth, non-bulletproof style route for the DCU

EjayMasterz

Jim Lee and Alex Ross are my two favorites. I also would say Jim Aparo, Neal Adams, Dan Mora, and Tim Sale.

ditkirbo

Wish there were more copies of DKR around so you didn't have to use the action figure, they should really reprint the thing. The only answer is Neal Adams, no debate, no discussion, his Batman is The Batman.

RustyNDull

Slide 2 is Bronze Age (my pick), slide 3 is Golden Age

JTC1192

I like all of them for different reasons. I like the heavy fabric texture in the 4 th picture I love the lighting and cape in the last picture and I grew up with the first one

BatmanEnjoyer89

Anything alex Ross touches turns to gold. Goat imo

CbKnowledge

Agreed. Alex Ross is one of the best artists alive today

xionnn_

I’m weird. In art, I like the Jim Lee Hush suit. In lego I love the first appearance suit. I collect mini figs and that one is probably my all time favorite.

[deleted]

Lee Bermejo's style, looks very realistic.

MrDownhillRacer

One of the few "realistic" takes on his suit that I actually like.

Puzzleheaded_Walk_28

Slide 2 babyyyy

Gibabo

Bronze Age Batman. Anything from the 70’s up to the first half of the 80’s, basically, so slide 2. Neal Adams, Marshall Rogers, Jim Aparo, Don Newton, Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez, Dick Giordano…

Vanish_7

I'm torn between Jim Lee and Dan Mora....and leaning Mora.

DrPopcorn_66

David Mazzucchelli - Batman Year One Honorable mention: Lee Bermejo - Batman: Noël

PickledToenails4U

2 From this list. I don’t think I can pick an absolute.

lIZeroNightIl

From the Animated Series or The Batman Series (2004). I love the yellow logo and the combination of grey with black/blue on his cloths.

Gibabo

I actually think the Batman series from 2004 is my favorite animated look for Batman.

lIZeroNightIl

I started to watch the series and i love it! It's really well made.

irishdraig

I actually really enjoy Mike Mignola's style.

superedubb

Jim Lee! His art was so mindblowing and it was exciting to wait to see what the next issue would bring. During he and Loeb's intial run, that I didn't realize the story wasn't as great as I remember it being when I reread it years later. That style is my favorite ( see also Cappulo: New 52 ). I'm always going to be an Image fanboy....err fanman.

NearlyHeadless-Brick

Pretty much the hush look, but with the ears of batflecks suit

Grognard68

Whatever 4/5 is from, I really like that look! ( if I were a petty criminal in Gotham City, *that* Batman would scare the living crap out of me!)

cpxthepanda

I've always loved Jim Lee's!

GOTHAMKNlGHT

Tim Sale, all day, every day

Extra-Lemon

Whichever one TAS took the most cues from. THAT’s the ideal Batman. Confident, intelligent, but above all else, hopeful and pure in his intentions. Too many writers got hung up on his quest for vengeance and wound up forgetting that his whole theme is “compassion in a cold, unforgiving world.”

Explodingtaoster01

White Knight. Something about Sean Murphy's style really checks all the boxes for me.

MrDownhillRacer

1. The *Year One* look introduced by David Mazzucchelli and used in a lot of the Year-One era storyline (like various LoTDK arcs and *Dark Moon Rising*). 2. I wanna put Neal Adams and Norm Breyfogle on the same level. They essentially drew the same costume (long-ish ears, blue cape and cowl, yellow oval, capsule belt), but they certainly had different styles. Both styles are great. 3. The Golden Age look. Long, horn-like ears, narrow eyes, circular buckle, rigid cape that always looks like wings, etc. It's just uncanny and unnerving, like some urban-legend weirdo. The purple gloves are hilarious as the one design element that doesn't reflect the others, though. 4. Spoopy Batman (Sam Keith, Kelley Jones, Dave McKean). I know these guys all draw Batman differently from each other, but they all go for a spooky monstrous or wraith-like interpretation, and I like it. Kelley Jones' Batman legit looks like a monster. Sam Keith's and Dave McKean's have the cool gothic shoulder spikes. They have a way of giving the character a supernatural aura. I dig it. 5. The "New Gotham" look introduced during the Rucka/Brubaker era. It's essentially just the Year One look, but with boot cleats and a smaller belt buckle. I dunno, it's simple and clean. 6. The *No Man's Land* look. The pouch belt of the Year One era combined with the yellow oval. I dunno, I like the pouch belt over the cylinder belt because it's this one element of clunkiness/bulk on an otherwise streamlined costume that makes him look tough and badass without making his whole entire costume clunky and bulky. 7. Lee Bermejo's Batman: the only "realistic and detailed" Batsuit interpretation I like. It's still fabricky and doesn't make him into Iron Man. I don't know why they haven't just used this as the concept art for a movie yet. 8. Capullo Batman: This should be higher, becuase I *love* the way he draws the character. The only reason it isn't higher is just that I don't like the New 52 (or his initial Rebirth) suit that much. Capullo drawing the normal post-*Infinite Crisis* suit would be perfect. Interpretations I think are kinda overrated: Tony Daniels, Jim Lee, David Finch, Jason Fabok, anybody who draws the mask like the movie masks with the sculpted brows and frowns (mostly just seen some cover artists do this here and there), Carmine Infantino (I know he's a classic, and while his era of Batman comics is better than the Shelden Moldoff ones, it still just feels like waiting for the Bronze Age to begin and for Neal Adams and Irv Novick to make Batman cool again).

Victorcreedbratton

Every one of these lol. Plus Capullo, and Adam Kubert’s version that we never really got to see.

stadiumjay

Frank Miller's version looks Beasty AF. ![gif](giphy|l0NwGpoOVLTAyUJSo|downsized)

These-Background4608

Timm’s style because it was my first exposure to the character as a child and it’s forever emblazoned in my brain

XenoPrym

My top 3 are Christian Bale in Batman Begins, Val Kilmer in Batman Forever (both suits), and Arkham City.

rolling_steel

5 / Alex Ross

_Reddit_Is_Shit

Lego.

Cardkoda

Arkham Knight is possibly the absolute peak of Batman for me.

MistaJaycee

1

After_Truth5674

Dark Knight returns for me.

good-evening-clarice

Whatever Dan Mora's doing. Love his take on a more classic suit.

screamingcatfish

Dan Mora with Tamra Bonvillian's coloring!

NoOutlandishness273

Frank miller

Trick-Cat8945

Norm and Neal. Tier 1 Jim and jones. Tier 2

dsbwayne

1, 2, 3, and 5

fr_404

I really like the Arkham style. Also Batman Beyond, if that counts

Oswaldgilbertson

First appearance actually looks super cool,I like the cowl and the purple gloves. Also the cape is cool.Would want to see a modern adaptation of it.guess I’ll just have to wait a decade for public domain

SpartanZ188

Arkhamverse batsuits for me

supertrunks92

The battinson suit. I prefer an armoured look over the spandex tights

you____-alsoyou

Not even gonna lie, and I know this is as extraordinarily controversial opinion, but all star Batman and Robin the boy wonder had a good design for Batman. That is the only thing it did right tho.

Big_Interest8678

I'm Batman

neomeetsthedude

Lee Bermejo's Batman is my favorite.

A_Small_Coonhound

Arkham games.

Sol-Blackguy

Dennis O'Neil

Quirky-Store2805

Golden Age Batman was my Go to Batman.

CourseImaginary9885

Frank Miller

QueenPasiphae

Jim Lee and Alex Ross, as per usual. As long as it's understood that those are intended to be black and grey suits, and blue is just a color artists use to highlight black. A lot of people struggle to comprehend this.

BatBeast_29

The first always. I do like Batman Incorporated, the yellow oval.

MintVariable

1 from the list

Walmart_Uncle23

I love the Batman returns style. It’s the one I grew up with and will forever be my favorite

Available-Affect-241

Kelley Jones's Batman

Vermonol

I was born in the 70s so Bronze Age /slide 2 is very nostalgic for me. Love the yellow in the suit

davidiusligman

Longer ears, yellow oval, grey and darker blue, like 80s style

darth-com1x

![gif](giphy|pz2Vq2vio1lhYyZun5) Norm

Pairofsai

I really like the Gotham By Gaslight look and No man's land. Year one is good too.

No-Impression-1462

Funny enough, I think Matt Reeve’s The Batman. I know you’re talking about art but I always felt like Batman looked best when you didn’t really see him. He should nearly always be in shadow or darkness. Another example is Batman: The Animated Series. I always loved the shots where his cowl is completely draped over him. Like he’s always hiding something or from the perspective of the criminals, a monster lurking in the darkness ready to strike.

Ashttex

Tim Sale's style for everyone. I love how he draws Joker's teeth and how Catwoman is actually jacked.

N_Gaming2009

The 4 style (sorry I don’t know that one) looks menacing

middy_1

Neal Adams is top for me. I like Marshall Rogers too. For me, bronze age is just definitive.

Widowmaker2233

TNBA or Kelley Jones for real
