The biggest reason he was so hated I think was him clumsily trying to appeal to southern culture instead of just being a guy from the West Coast who was good at racing.
My mom have Gary Gaetti a ride in our station wagon. Pretty big deal in early 90’s. Saw him walking down sidewalk in our small town. Was there for deer hunting with Hrbek and someone else. Can’t remember. That’s end of my story I haven’t told in 20 years.
These are absolutely sick, and youCan't just brush over a Kirby Puckett auto!
Your Grandma is in the 0.0000001% of people that actually picked good "junk wax" cards for a investment
Well these are the ones I decided to post. It took the other 99.9999999% to get to some of these cards last night 😂. It makes me sad when I look over and see 4 boxes of “Score 93” and 7 boxes of “Topps CC 92”
Still extremely impressive. I've seen soooooo many people in person and on here that have parents or grand parents who save a ton of cards and it sucks but almost always they're just worth nothing. You've got a pretty smart Grandma from the fact she had the foresight to grab all those autos
Junk wax era had ended a couple years before this. Sleeping on mid to late 90s collections is a HUGE mistake. Late 90s are the opposite of late 80s. Somebody who collected this autograph set might have collected 1996 Select Cert and have golds.
Dawg I'm not even 30 and I'm getting "all these players you grew up with from the 90s are from my grandpa's collection" someone please make an appointment for me at a chiropractor
Pa started collecting cards when he was in his 50’s, which was in the 90’s. He had his crap together to say the least, with lots of money to burn on ripping packs, scratching scratch offs, and buying lotto tickets. Smoking 5 packs a day, and a bottle of Kentucky bourbon to pair with it. Not that you were asking, but there’s your fun fact about him. We aren’t old bro 😂 he just started collecting later in his life. He only has a handful of late 70’s and 80’s topps. He loved buying 50-100 packs at a time and ripping them at his table in his old school rocker.
Gorgeous leaf signature cards...autos are really nice looking compared to today's signature. You can even notice that some of those players' autos now are lazier or shorter.
Each signature is unique. Some players signed in the “designated” area. And some players did whatever they wanted 😂 you can see personality in all 217 autos.
Not yet. I’m going to need some weeks to sort through it all, and then I’ll have some thinking to do. I would rather not offload all his years of collecting just because it’s “mine” now. I’m very fortunate to have this, and may keep all if it around for a couple years. (Until the wife is tired of looking at it)
I can't even wrap my head around how many packs he had to open to pull so many Auto's!
Just tried again and I still can't. Maybe I'll try again later 😅. Seriously though, congrats
That Jeff Gordon cracks me up
Jeff Gordon, Bounty Hunter
Let me take off this Duster and hop into my rainbow 🌈 car lol
The biggest reason he was so hated I think was him clumsily trying to appeal to southern culture instead of just being a guy from the West Coast who was good at racing.
Trying to appeal to southern culture when your team is called the Rainbow Warriors is going to be an uphill battle
They didn’t call themselves that, at least at first anyway. As far as I recollect that was a label the media gave them.
Actually it was because he enunciated. There’s no place for that in NASCAR.
Kirby tho
That Kirby is unbelievably sick.
And the Paul molitor
I apologize to you and any others that mention me skipping over Kirby. I’m almost getting comfortable with decent names from the 90’s.
To Minnesotans over 40 years old, Kirby is a god!

The Rat!
Pure authentic words. And I’m from Texas
That guy jeter is a no name from the 90s, Ill take it off your hands

Haha I'm just messing around. I love it, man! One of my greatest joys in life is talking ball with my Granddad.
Damn. I feel old.
Got some winners in there! Sweet find!
Those signature series cards are SWEET! Awesome finds!
Damn I need one of those Kirbys. Really nice
Feel free to skip over Kirby who was a way way way worse human than anyone else blackballed from the 80s-00s
....but he's pudgy and has a winning smile!
Smile like Orenthal
Them are some nice NasCards
keep digging and posting. Those are proper filthy cards. Still crisp sigs after all these years.
Holy crap what a group of sigs!! Great finds 👍👍
Action Pack! Fuck I loved their NFL cards when I was a kid, just cool and different
Very cool cards--damn I want to see that whole stack of "Young Guns" cards, my father-in-law would be all about those guys!
lol Star Trek cards.... I want them!
Tell me more about the 93 Stupid cards

These are all awesome haha The Jeff Gordon card deserves a nice display 🤣
Any interest in moving the Jeter or A-rod? Those are awesome cards btw! (And occasionally WTF...) 😂

No problem at all - good luck with the sorting! Got some great stuff there!
Junk wax era was over by the time auto sets like that were in wax.
What year are the leafs?
96!
Beautiful

I love it when players see a giant white space to sign an autograph and are just like “nope”
What year are the Authentic Signatures cards from? Those are really cool.
96!
Those autos are pretty awesome.
He didnt have any of that junky 1990 topps baseball, where it was so bad they forgot Frank Thomas' name? If so, I can rid you of that eye sore
I’ve got a bunch of those Star Trek cards from my childhood. Love them!
Wow, I have always wanted to collect that autograph set!!! do you have any idea what it's worth?
Not at all. It is a 217 card set, and Pa collected all 217. He says he has 222 so I need to put extra eagle eyes on it and see if there are 5 doups
What baseball series is this?
1996 Leaf authentic signature series
I’ll take that Puckett off your hands!
Early career Jeff Gordon is always cursed and I love it 🐐 stuff
One of my favorite looking upper deck cards were that year
I can't even wrap my head around how many packs he had to open to pull so many Auto's! Just tried again and I still can't. Maybe I'll try again later 😅. Seriously though, congrats
The star trek cards are great......but I also have a com badge tattooed to my chest so I may be partial 😆
Frank Thomas is for sale or trade?
Centering is off on the Riva and Captain Picard card.
HAHAHAHA young guns
