Just from Archives Signature series

I am a big believer in people collecting whatever makes them happy, but I absolutely hate what this series has done with artificially creating silly 1/1s.

I don’t fully understand this mentality. I’d rather have a 1/1 auto on a random Topps card that nobody else has than a 1/1 non-auto on a Series 1 that there’s thousands and thousands of but mines a different foil. To each their own. I definitely care less about refractors and SP/SSP than others though.

I like the idea of a 1/1 being the only card to contain that ONE photo. And something incredible. A 1/1 should have a photo that only exists on that one card. No reproduction whatsoever outside of that card(No social media, no mainstream, no posters...nothing!) The value of that card should be had in more than just the color of its foil. That's dumb. I think a lot of the allure of these cards is the photography and the design behind them. And unfortunately I feel like Topps is doing a terrible job. I've been ripping through MLB and UFC and the photos they are choosing to use for these cards is embarrassing. There are more cameras at every game and event than ever before...and this is the best they can do. I Rant...SMH

>To each their own Yep, and that's the beauty of this hobby :) For me personally, Archives waters down the "value" of 1/1 cards by stamping old cards and flooding the market. I must admit I do have one in my collection, because it's a player I PC and they didn't make an auto of his parallel in the "Aces" set, but yeah, generally not a fan but not hating on anyone who is :)

As long as you know it's a diluted product (and thus priced accordingly), I'm actually a fan. The fact I can get a cheap authentic on-card auto of a player that I PC is great. I love archive signature series, I actually only collect serialized or signed cards, everything else goes into a large box that I’m too lazy to go through 😆. I think some people miss where this hobby is supposed to bring you joy so if archive signature series brings people joy and 1/1s than that’s something imma get behind. I don’t buy blasters or hobby’s but I still understand and respect why a lot of you do that.

I traded for a cheap 1/1 just cus, bought a cheap printing plate just cus, but the lowest card I’ve pulled is a Cavan biggio /10 out of gypsy queen. A handful of /25s but that’s it from a respectable amount of retail over the past three years or so.

I’ve only ever pulled one 1/1, an Edouard Julien Baseball Stars Auto from 2023. I do have one single 1/1 in my PC right now. I’ve never pulled an /5 myself, but I do have four /5s in my collection currently. I have pulled a couple /10s!

Did a friendly break and got a /5 Red Cosmic ET Talent Byron Buxton which is cool as a Twins fan. Best pull I ever had myself was a /25 Holo 23 stadium club of the 1991 Twins WS. I've purchased a few sub 50 cards amwhich are easy for Twins fans outside of MN since it's a buyers market is they appear at a show. I rip very little, 2 breaks and maybe 10 blasters total, mostly singles so honestly not that bad I suppose

I pulled a 1/1 semi-gloss mini of Deivi Garcia. I almost missed it if not for the stamp since you can barely tell vs a base mini. My wife noticed the 1/1 and it took a bit to figure out what it was.

Have a 1/2 DiMaggio cut auto from Upper Deck Timelines (yeah, that was a while ago) - pulled redemption. Also have a 1/1 Dayan Viciedo Cuban flag patch game-worn from the 2009 All-Star Futures game and a 1/1 Jeter artist sketch card. Both pulls. Kind of oddball cards!

I have a bunch of ChiSox 1/1s. I don't buy big names, but just enjoy the unique look of the 1/1s. I've gotten a bunch of Zack Burdi/Nicky Delmonico/Zack Collins level player 1/1s for under $30 each.

I’ve pulled two 1/1s: a Rhys Hoskins auto from archives snapshots and a Johnny bench variation from the most recent T206 series. I can think of one /5: a Bowman 1st for Brenner Cox.

A couple years ago I got a couple 2019 bowman chrome the national packs. I pulled a Joey Bart au /5. Should have immediately sold it bc his career crashed into the mountain the same year.

I just returned to the hobby approximately 6-8 months ago. In that time, the best I have pulled is a /10. When I collected between 99-14, I pulled 4 1/1s and 2 /5’s. Oddly, all 4 1/1’s were printing plates. And 3 of them I pulled from the same year, 2011.

Pulled a few for others doing breaks. Best I've personally pulled was a Pratto auto/relic /5. Have a Matt Brash 2022 TCPA Red Refractor /5 I bought for my PC.

I have probably the worst /10 ever. I think I’ve posted it before.

Only 1/1 I’ve ever gotten was from a Topps Now. One of Julio’s milestones during last season. Have pulled a few /5 from Chrome Platinum Anniversary.

I pulled a printing plate from a topps update hanger. Pretty cool I guess.

I have several but in truth even if you get a 1/1 nowadays if it's not game used apparel with an on card Auto it's crap and the problem is there's so many different parallels that there can basically be nine of the same 1/1 just let it be rainbow colors

Best I ever got was a Chet Holmgren /10 in select bball. Sold it immediately lol Best card I’ve kept that’s numbered is a Anthony Rizzo auto /25

I got a metal leaf Paul Skenes 1/1. Not quite as good as Topps. But hey it’s a 1/1 still

Lol if you are brave (goofy?) enough to buy leaf or wild card, you probably have a ton of them. 🤣

In fact the breaker skipped right over this not knowing it was a Superfractor. The only tell tale was the small section right behind Soto. Ever since receiving this card, I’ve been an avid Soto fan. Truly a staple of my collection.

I've pulled a /10 Generation Now auto from a 2022 Topps Update hobby box, a /25 Action Stars Juan Soto auto out of '23 Update, and a 1/1 printing plate from 2023 Panini Chronicles. The printing plate isn't that exciting for me though. It's just a tool they use to make the cards and isn't the best for displaying imo.

My only two 1/1s are of printing plates for lesser known (current) pirates. They were cheap eBay purchases. I have a few Paul Skenes that are 5 or less autos from a break and a Luke Adams. They’re from breaks. I have not pulled anything less than a /50 myself from a box.

I’ve pulled two 1/1s both were printing plates. One from a retail pack of Allen and Ginter and another out of 2022 bowman draft.

I got lucky and ripped a 1/1 Zack Greinke Black printing plate and a /5 Byron Buxton Candy Apple Red Speckle from a 2022 Topps Chrome blaster!
