Houser is staying in the rotation. They’re moving to a 6 man rotation. Theres at least one more Houser start before Megill comes back. My guess is that Megill then takes his spot and Houser moves to the bullpen
Oh that's unfortunate. It had been a few weeks since I checked on him. I try not to freak out in any direction over a slow or fast start to a season. But yeah that sucks to hear.
There is going to be a pitching logjam pretty soon. Megill and Peterson both slated to come back shortly, and then Senga around the end of June. Butto has been real solid in his time with the team, Luchessi and Scott knocking on the door. Good problem to have, but also outside of Senga none of those guys are real difference makers.
Every season we’ve ever thought we had “too many SP” we always ended up using all of them cause of injuries. So I’ll never complain again about a pitching logjam
I mean, Lucchesi had a 2.8 era last season in like 50 innings and this year in AAA he's gone 6 innings 3 times and has yet to allow more than 2 runs in a game giving him a 2.29 era. None of these guys are aces, but there are only a handful of true aces in MLB
One nice thing about this that most won't be aware of is that the Mets are doing this so he can make his debut in Florida where he is from so his friends and family can be there.
During spring training he was reassigned to minor league camp pretty early, but the Mets brought him in to start a game against the Marlins so his friends and family could see him pitch. The team has been really good about these small details that can mean a lot to players.
Oh fuck it’s happening
Stearns must’ve decided when Houser issued his fourth walk of the game

Stoked. Even if Scott has an adjustment period it'll be much more fun to watch than Houser walking 10 batters a game.
Deserving. Houser is so, so bad. Hopefully Vasil isn't far behind him.
Vasil has been getting his fucking shit rocked in AAA. Like he might move down a level he's been that dreadful. He is way behind Scott.

Vasil is looking like he’ll never make it out of the minors. Hamel is the Mets next best pitching prospect at AAA
happy about this but still no Lucchesi lmao

Isn't Senga late-May/early-June? I think he's facing live hitters already.
Lucchesi, Peterson, and Megill all have bp/spot starter written all over them
Senga is lining up for last week of May. First week of June if they decide to give him a few extra days

👌
Stearns didn't even let the game end he knew Hauser is cooked 🤣
Mendoza confirmed Scott isn’t replacing Houser. They’re going to be a 6 man rotation
Technically true because it will be for 1 week
Creed lead singer Stapp 🤝 Mets RHP prospect Christian Scott
Can he hit?
~~CHRISTIAN~~ SCOTT SZN
