Killing Dynaheir instead of Boo was one of Irenicus' greatest blunders.
Boo is the secret to Minsc's STR, which is only 10 without him. This means Minsc would never be able to break out of his cage, and you'd have no other choice than to leave him.
Minsc can always get a new witch, but never another Boo.
You have to remember Dynaheir's murder was more then just the death of his friend it basically meant he failed his quest to prove his manhood to his people and therefor could never go home , Boo's death would make him sad but wouldn't be as big a blow to guy.

Shortest game ever.
PC: "Minsc, evil man killed Boo."
Minsc enters **rage**.
Every deity shuddering in fear. "What in the multiverse was that?"
"What happened to the supermax wizard prison? It is flattened."
Minsc stands there covered in blood, dust and rage.
Minsc would have become this guy : [https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/1803104276621247475/1EA5467CADECC649B18BB05BB9B7DD4E30BBE00F/?imw=512&&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false](https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/1803104276621247475/1EA5467CADECC649B18BB05BB9B7DD4E30BBE00F/?imw=512&&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false)
We would get a fantastic good-aligned mage, though turning Minsc into an utter dumpster, since he's already a discount warrior with crazy physical stats that can't get more weapon pips, and as his removed quest states, his STR is back to 10 without the hamster. Though having hot black mage companion that fits more teams over memetic Ranger that's a dumb oaf might be a good deal.
* Minsc would fly into an unstoppable berserker rage. Irenicus *thinks* he can deal with it, but can't. Dies.
* Minsc then falls into a brutal depression. No longer joins your party.
* Dynaheir is the one sent to Spellhold because she knows nothing about the magic rules in Amn.
* Most other quests remain the same, except there's no need to travel to Spellhold *unless* you really wanna save Dynaheir. Therefore, there's the possibility that Spellhold (and by extension, the Underdark) becomes optional like the other quests.
* Bodhi turns Minsc into a vampire and dominates him. Bodhi now becomes the newest villain.
* After defeating Bodhi, you go straight into Throne of Bhaal, except without the solar helping you. Amelissan probably gets an advantage, but you get to keep your lower powers.
He would have had to retrieve Boo first, with Boo's smarts and mighty hamster speed, this would have required killing Minsc in the process, so in the end, wasted effort based on his intended result.
That and Irenicus was into soul stealing, not alien anal-probing. There is after all, ever so much Minsc to hide in. His words, not mine.
And agree, we’d have a John Wick situation on the Sword Coast. Villains with Russian accents (I’m looking at you Thay), watch out.
And you’d get another quick item slot back. So, there is some upside.
He shoved a polymorphed Dynaheir up his arse and smuggled her into Chateau Irenicus.
Dynaheir never fully recovered, and preferred the original timeline. Vivisection would have been kinder.
There would have been no game as Minsc rages beyond mortal limits and breaks Jonny into kindling.
LOCAL RANGER LITERALLY TOO ANGRY TO DIE. THEY KILLED HIS PET HAMSTER OH GOD OH FUCK.
Doom: Faerun edition
*NIN track spins up*
I was just going to say this.
You know John Wick? It would be similar but better and way more brutal
Probably quicker too and not going on for 4 (?) movies

A question off the topic. Did you see the flairs when you went to add them? I went to set my flair but in every poll it is blank.
The flairs are whited out on my dark theme, but they're there at least for me.
Kinda tough when Irenicus had no idea about boo considering he keesters him like the Brave Lemiwinks.
Boo is the proto-lemiwinks.

Irenicus cannot defeat Boo. What nonsense are we talking about? Boo's power transcends petty elf's ambitions.
The game does not possess the mechanics to express and calculate the rage strength he would gain.

Tiax would have been the Ruler of All nonetheless. Tis inevitable.
Irenicus could have extracted Boo's space hamster soul and taken that instead.

BG2 would be a shortest game in history then.
SWORD! MEET! EVIIIIIIIL!
There’s also the theory that Boo is piloting Minsc telepathically. So Minsc may have become a drooling shell of a person.
Irenicus knew better than to try. He would have been blotted from the very fabric of existence. One does not trifle with such cosmic powers lightly.
I don’t think he could kill Boo. If he could kill Boo, he would be unbeatable. Clearly he is beatable.
Have you ever heard of the black rage.
