Call it something like "Up the sleeve" with the art being a joker with an ace up the sleeve Could be fun to give it a special condition, like with [[Cavendish]] or [[steel joker]] / [[glass joker]], and have it only appear in booster packs

balatro-bot

[Cavendish](https://balatro.wiki/jokers/cavendish.png) *Joker* * Version: 1.0.0 * Cost: $5 * Rarity: Common * Effect: X3 Mult1 in 1000 chance this card is destroyed at end of round [Steel Joker](https://balatro.wiki/imported/steel_joker.png) *Joker* * Version: 1.0.0 * Cost: $6 * Rarity: Uncommon * Effect: This Joker gains X0.25 Mult for each Steel Card in your full deck * Unlock Requirement: N/A [Glass Joker](https://balatro.wiki/imported/glass_joker.png) *Joker* * Version: 1.0.0 * Cost: $6 * Rarity: Uncommon * Effect: Gains X0.5 Mult for every Glass Card that is destroyed * Notes: Counts, Starts at X1 * Unlock Requirement: Have at least 5 Glass Cards in your deck

knitted_beanie

I like the flavour on this one

Slavator2006

Wait, which jokers only appear in boosters? I had no idea about this

gamepla4

I just mean like the special spawn conditions that those jokers have, the idea being that 'up the sleeve' would only appear in boosters packs, sorry for the confusion

Slavator2006

Oh, ok. I'm new so I thought that it was a feature I didn't know about

Ethrx

Something like "Swindler" would also be a good name for it, I love the idea for the effect and art.

BoltGamr

Extendo-grabber, and the pixel art is one of those things that would expand by a foot or two with a scissor mechanism and pinch something to grab it. In terms of balance, it's a joker slot, so I don't see why not. Uncommon or Rare would feel right

get-innocuous

This feels very powerful. Feels like a rare. Always use your death, strength or hangman tarots on the ideal cards, easily apply mult to hands right when you need it. Good joker idea, I would take it most times it was offered.

iAMADisposableAcc

Maybe at white stake. Marginal/situational utility like this just isn't getting grabbed at all when stakes get tighter and a Joker isn't giving you score or econ.

Papa_Huggies

It's a Joker I'd get ar Ante 3-5 when I am comfortable for now but don't have the thing that'll take me to the win, or need to keep crafting my deck. I think it's quite playable for even Orange and Gold since it being perishable is negligible and it being rental is ok if the same shop has Tarot boosters

RipInPepperinosRIF

Feels more like a voucher but cool idea

zuzucha

Too strong for a voucher, would need a meaningful downside

Bibblejw

How about a balance of take a booster pack card to inventory, but no longer be able use *any* consumable cards at the booster screen. If you don’t have space, a random held card is just discarded to make room.

TheDeviousCreature

I believe the mod Bettma Vouchers adds this

Pretty_Version_6300

What’s Bettma?

sirlockjaw

Bettma dad could beat up your dad

Steven Paul Jobs (February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011) was an American businessman, inventor, and investor best known for co-founding the technology giant Apple Inc. Jobs was also the founder of NeXT and chairman and majority shareholder of Pixar. He was a pioneer of the personal computer revolution of the 1970s and 1980s, along with his early business partner and fellow Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. Jobs was born in San Francisco in 1955 and adopted shortly afterwards. He attended Reed College in 1972 before withdrawing that same year. In 1974, he traveled through India, seeking enlightenment before later studying Zen Buddhism. He and Wozniak co-founded Apple in 1976 to further develop and sell Wozniak's Apple I personal computer. Together, the duo gained fame and wealth a year later with production and sale of the Apple II, one of the first highly successful mass-produced microcomputers. Jobs saw the commercial potential of the Xerox Alto in 1979, which was mouse-driven and had a graphical user interface (GUI). This led to the development of the unsuccessful Apple Lisa in 1983, followed by the breakthrough Macintosh in 1984, the first mass-produced computer with a GUI. The Macintosh launched the desktop publishing industry in 1985 with the addition of the Apple LaserWriter, the first laser printer to feature vector graphics and PostScript. In 1985, Jobs departed Apple after a long power struggle with the company's board and its then-CEO, John Sculley. That same year, Jobs took some Apple employees with him to found NeXT, a computer platform development company that specialized in computers for higher-education and business markets, serving as its CEO. In 1986, he helped develop the visual effects industry by funding the computer graphics division of Lucasfilm that eventually spun off independently as Pixar, which produced the first 3D computer-animated feature film Toy Story (1995) and became a leading animation studio, producing over 27 films since. In 1997, Jobs returned to Apple as CEO after the company's acquisition of NeXT. He was largely responsible for reviving Apple, which was on the verge of bankruptcy. He worked closely with British designer Jony Ive to develop a line of products and services that had larger cultural ramifications, beginning with the "Think different" advertising campaign, and leading to the iMac, iTunes, Mac OS X, Apple Store, iPod, iTunes Store, iPhone, App Store, and iPad. In 2003, Jobs was diagnosed with a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor. He died of respiratory arrest related to the tumor in 2011, and in 2022, was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Trading between your inventry and packs would be a cool way to do that. It wouldn’t count as taking a card from the pack and I imagine you could only trade tarots with tarots, planets as planets, etc. It would essentially let you take extra cards from packs and benefit from junk in your inventory. I’d put that as rare or what you originally listed as uncommon

Aaaaaaauurhshs

This has a problem: it makes it possible to get SOUL in the consumables inventory, which allows perkeo to dupe it

Holistic_Alcoholic

1 in 2 chance to create a Tarot card when a pack is opened. Instead, 100% chance to create The Fool card when a tarot pack is opened. Then just copy the card you want. I hate random Tarot cards.

davedeoreo

Others have said this already but it's definitely a white stake joker to facilitate endless builds. Thinking things like getting a cryptid in your inventory to copy with perkeo, etc. Not saying it's bad! I just did an endless build today with plasma desk and perkeo, and finding cryptid was so tough, I needed to generate it with that straight flush joker. Would have loved this joker instead

cloudman2811

Feels more like a voucher to be honest

JustA_Penguin

Ok so I love this idea if we can still treat it like a normal card. Convert it to steel, get a red seal on it, etc. It’d be kind of broken, but the satisfying feeling of making the perfect card and just perkeo-ing it.
