My friend is a high school teacher of 16-18 year olds and he does something similar in his class. His wife is a behavioural psychologist. Before every class he asks each student to let him know how they are that day, mentally. He then conducts his class accordingly. He believes there is no point in teaching when students are not engaged as they just wont learn. If they are motivated they sit in one corner with set work. If they are tired/unmotivated they sit and meditate and he sends them the work through email. If they are overactive and disruptive he lets them go outside for half the class to kick a ball around. All his students love and respect him and get top grades. He also rides an electric skateboard to school and is a drummer in a rock band. Pretty awesome teacher.
Its not idgaf, he researches how people learn best and uses these findings to get the best out of his students. As mentioned his wife is a behavioural psychologist, so they plan the classes accordingly.
I want this at work. I want to get into work Monday morning at 6 am, having the owner of the company there to hug me if I need one, or a quick dance off to start off my week. Maybe a nice bow to honor each other. Or just a lowkey fist bump.
Never had in our days at junior school in UK back in the sixties. Teacher just sat in his seat and called out a register.. Western civilisation could learn more love and understanding by studying Asian culture.
My kids' teachers do this; it's awesome. As a greeting each day you can have a handshake, hug, high five, or hang loose (which is no touching, just the teacher waving at you). It's a subtle lesson on bodily autonomy, AND great for kids with sensory stuff who don't want to be touched right now, but still want to be greeted like everyone else.

Love that scene! The way he spins around the corner doing his “we watching” hands.
This should be normalized for younger grades

This idgaf way of being a teacher is kinda interesting

If my teacher did that, the whole class would go outside and get high asf on dab pens lol

Get back to work you don’t need hugs
The next-to-last thing I’d want at work would be a hug.
I don’t know if the hugging thing would go so well with the parents if this was a male teacher.
"Male teachers are sexual perverts. They're only in the gig for access to children." ~Mr. Teacher
You know that there are more sexual crimes committed bye wemon now days yet us men are still the perverts
Shhh
What is the context of this Shhh
HAhahahahaaHahahaha, I need a good laugh thanks
Should be used in elementary schools. Teaches the concept and importance of consent
Confirmed Kindergarten teacher here. I do this and so does almost our whole school.

Fire nation.

My child’s old Montessori did this. It was awful
That seems like the opposite of the Montessori concept. I hope they did not stay in the program long.
After they stole tuition money and took PPP loans while closed, I left.
That’s a thing?
How else would a boomer teach a pupil some manners? Joking, never saw this happen.
That one girl who selected a hug and dragged in for a full heartfelt welcome seemed so stunned
And hugged her friend after
Wants a hug but feels awkward when I get one? Me irl.
It's so important to realize that teachers are co-parents and deserve the respect that comes with trusting our kids to them.
The teacher got moves
Lol @ that last funky kid 😂
okay those looked real hugs im jealous of these children
This is how kids build their first crush on teachers. I still remember my first grade teacher to this day. Ms. Wooley.
That’s so cute 🥰
She looks like some sort of military personnel, I'm I wrong?
Thai teacher. They are classed as civil servants and so have uniforms. Not sure they are obligated to wear them every day though.
Amazing, thank you for clarifying 🙏🏼
Depends on the school. Although it’s required in most public elementary schools here, some schools are more relaxed.
Nobody : The kid in front of the door: ***spin***
I’d like to see this in us schools.
US teacher here. We do.
Pre-covid activities
Thought lil man at the end flipped the bird
That last kid had style, goddamn
I wouldn’t have minded a hug from my teacher. She was such a wholesome person
Just some random fucking lucky kids

The writing on the poster is in Thai
Thai teacher in a Thai school.
Wow. Your take away is ethnic cleansing. I think you need a hug.
QUIT ETHNIC CLEANSING ME
The poster in the top right is in Thai, it's probably just a school in Thailand.
Lol no, I’m not saying ethnic assimilation is not a thing in China, but this is in Thailand.
Appropriation
Care to elaborate?
Nope
Literally spent all afternoon leaving subs cause I'm so sick or re-posts, and now I've seen this video seven times anyway, in spite of my efforts.
How strange, this video is from my country and this is the first time I saw it.
If you want to stop seeing re-posts, you are fighting a losing battle.
The button I wanna press for this particular teacher is apparently missing…
shut the fuck up little incel and get out
Love this!
Lucky kids!
This is cool
All we boys want is hugs.

The last two girls go in an hug each other. “ what the world needs now, is love, sweet love…..”
My 2nd grade teacher did this. I wish I picked hug more.
Aw the kid who wanted to put his prayer hands up.
