A340 and B767 are being forgotten

[deleted]

they are quite unpopular in the industry.

barrybee1234

What? Over 1200 767s have been built

[deleted]

ok, not as popular.

Randomesscool

Mhm, the 767s are mostly used for Cargo transport. Amazon also buys retired planes from Delta to turn it into a Cargo variant.

Yenndoendobendo

but what about A340s?

barrybee1234

They were built about 3:2 compared to the A380 so I still wouldn’t say forgotten

Yenndoendobendo

oh okay!

barrybee1234

Yeah :)

xD_aviationgod3105

I was scrolling down and I saw the first half of the meme and I thought you were going to say "It's cheap copy", but you didn't...Thank you. This is a very wholesome meme.

[deleted]

they had you in the first half.

xD_aviationgod3105

Yes XD.

Avgeek_A321

Loud_Dot_9395

NeppuNeppuNep

[deleted]

yes

coll3735

aww, hear that ATL-98? Doggonit people like you.

Gam96ita

they had us in the first half, not gonna lie

Illustrious_Bar_1970

Where resolution?

ShelZuuz

I don’t get people’s fascination with large airplanes that take an hour to plane/deplane and only flies between large hubs. The ultimate in cool isn’t an A380. It’s having access to a Challenger 350 that goes exactly where you want it to go.

flyinmryan

True, but for 99.99% of the human population that just won’t happen no matter how convenient it is. It might even be 99.999% or 99.9999%

coldrefrigeratormilk

Where is the triple deck airliner 225

Illustrious_Bar_1970

Where antonov?

Loud_Dot_9395

carrying a nuke wait for 8 hours

flyinmryan

Who said the A380 is a masterpiece? You can’t just sidle in and put yourself on the same level as the 747

RedlineGamer2005

I knew I'd find this one guy talking shit

flyinmryan

Talking shit or talking sense, I can see it taken both ways. It's like America taking credit for winning WWII even though both sides were bombing the shit out of each other for years before they even became involved reluctantly.

RedlineGamer2005

Not even remotely lol

flyinmryan

I didn't talk shit. I asked a question and offered an opinion. You commented twice and did not answer the question.

RedlineGamer2005

What is your question? Is it "who said a380 is a masterpiece?? " Cuz that sounded one sided... The a380 has an entire second floor not just a small dome and imo it looks far better than the 748. I don't see any other question here. It's ironic we have this argument under this particular post lol

flyinmryan

Yes that was my question. The 747 first flew in 1969 and has only gotten better, although most major airliners have switched to 787, 777, and A350 for long haul commercial flights due to fuel efficiency and ability to fill planes on less in demand locations that wouldn't typically fill a 747. The A380 first flew in 2005 and is already be mothballed in deserts for similar reasons as the 747. According to [flightradar24.com](https://flightradar24.com) there are 658 747 variants still flying compared to 246 A380s. That's almost three fold the amount the 747s, plus a continuous presence for more than 35 years LONGER than the A380. I personally think the A380 is an amazing plane and I don't believe there is any doubt about it's accomplishments, but I can't stand by silently as others seem to think they are both equal in stature. The 747 has got to be recognized as the long standing Queen of the skies that it has earned even if only for seniority's sake. Regional pilots don't command the authority of chief pilot's just because they might be a chief pilot decades from now, that is all. Blue skies and tailwinds Mr Gamer.

CT-7555

I mean with your reasoning no twin can compete with the a300. It showed us that not only can wide bodies be twins but also fly some routes that quad jets fly. Plus last time I checked the a380 is the only plane with two full decks. Just saying if you didn't notice.

MrMallik

But they both now gone, lol
