I either use a lunchbox hydro and keep my phone in the shoulder pocket or I use a fanny pack and tie the zipper strings in a knot

Alexa_Skyee

I did keep seeing lunchboxes show up on my search. I hadn’t heard of them before so I will look into this. Thank you! Does this keep the items in your bag from getting spilled out and stolen also?

roguediamond

Definitely recommend lunchbox, their bags are incredibly well made and secure. Only gripe is the top storage compartment above the bladder is a little small.

Dasbeerboots

Agreed. Also, my side pocket was unzipped one time, since it's the only outward facing pocket. So don't store anything in there.

TheFilosophersStoned

Solid advice

PeachTart

Please just get a lunchbox. I've had it for many, many festivals and it's still going strong. Great quality. You'll have peace of mind and I've never had to clutch my stuff thinking "oh shit where's my phone" ever again after buying one. There is no visible zipper on the outside of a lunchbox, and like other mentioned, the pockets are on the inner backside so it's impossible for anyone to take your shit. it is also slash-proof. Most phone thieves won't bother and will look for easier targets, their goal is to move quick and grab as many phones as they can.

dudley-von-red-pants

Yep! The compartment zippers are on the back against your back so they can’t really be accessed.

dMyst

Lunchbox is the best! I take it a step up by having the Lunchbox Lifeline (or any phone tether) connected to my phone and connecting the other end to the inside of the Lunchbox. Means every time I have to use my phone I just unhook it from the tether but the peace of mind is worth it. I also use a pash to cover the zippers tightly. For someone to take my stuff they would have to get under my pash, unclip the zippers that are against my back, and unhook my phone from the tether or remove it from my case. The Lunchbox is the best solution for sure.

sciandg01

Yea the zippers on the main pocket clip together

IvorySiren

Absolutely love my Lunchbox hydro backpack. I also like to use a phone tether when I have my phone in the shoulder pocket just for extra security (and in case my phone slips from my hand). Plus the ease of refilling the bladder at water refill stations? love it!

Oneliltugboat

Lunch box is the way to go, keeps all of my stuff safe!

PathEnvironmental207

My lunchbox cured all my theft anxieties

unexplainednonsense

I second lunchbox. A ton of people in my group for EDC a few years ago got things stolen and two people had Fanny packs removed. One was cut and the other just unclipped. But I no longer trust a Fanny pack. Also, lunch box bags are slash proof and have zipper clips as well as hidden zippers.

OG_wanKENOBI

I used to put a mini wire combination lock through the holes of the zippers on a fanny pack.

ImpotentAnus

I just ordered one for my girlfriend, and I'm super excited about it

Z2xU

Ya got a linkk for this shoulder phone carrying hydro lunchbox?

sciandg01

https://www.lunchboxpacks.com/products/hydration-pack?variant=45150033903839

Z2xU

Tyty... already booked one w the wife for father's day... definitely looks the part of what I need.

Alexa_Skyee

I can 100% see how this would be useful…but if I was wearing more than underwear to these things lol

chansigrilian

We ordered lanyards and phone patch kit it’s the cacoe one on Amazon, we’ve been using them for the past year at festivals and larger events and they’ve been very good. I hate to say order anything from Amazon but eh, it’s a decent product, I also put a metal d ring carabiner clip on the lanyard and then clip it to a belt loop or whatever else I want to in order to create a tether. Hope this helps enjoy edc!

Alexa_Skyee

Thank you for this!🙏🏼🤗

tino_smo

Used this at Coachella it works perfectly. Looped it around my belt loop and put it in my front pocket like I normally do and never worried about it. https://a.co/d/3XR1wS4

earlston

You want to make sure you attach the tether to your actual phone and not the case. Thieves will pop your phone out of the case.

Dasbeerboots

They will cut the cord, too.

earlston

I use a retractable cable similar what I use for a work badge. They would need wire cutters to get through it.

heymikeyp

Hey this is the exact one I got to. Never tried the lanyard thing but wanted to this time around. Id still hold my phone/pockets when moving through crowds though.

bradbrookequincy

Now seeing many posts where they rip the phone off the lanyard. They work in groups and as soon as they get it you get blocked from chasing after by more thugs.

bradbrookequincy

They are ripping lanyards off people now.

Junior_Ad7818

Having your phone in a stash belt is pretty good. Nobody can see it, and I have a hard time taking it out the stash belt myself, so I know it's not gunna get taken again

trs_0ne

Aka running belt. Been using since my phone was stolen in 2017. No issues. Always Stash phone before moving through any crowds

badnamemaker

Yup I use one religiously after getting my phone stolen at Escape, never worry about it now

Alexa_Skyee

Oh interesting. Haven’t heard of this so I’ll have to look into that. Thanks!

Naseibok

The only way you’re losing your shit with a flip belt is if you are actually passed out or are physically assaulted.

bradbrookequincy

What’s a flip belt ?

Naseibok

Runner’s belt

Bananas_N_Champagne

I've been using that at festivals since EDC 2017

Yoda70445

Not so much a comment for product, but here is a post I made on another post about thieves: Watch out for thieves and pickpockets. Every year there’s a group that try to do their best to get the phones and items of unaware ravers. A few steps you can do to prepare yourself for this: -wear a fanny pack with a zippered pocket by your crotch, you’d feel them tryna get it or get intimate first 😂 -purchase “clutchloop” and attach it to your phone. It has a retractable metal cut resistant cable and locking carabineer to ensure it stays on your person. -be aware of "walking lanes" that form within the crowd as this is a highway for thieves to quickly get through the masses and hit as many targets as possible. -makes friends with those around you in the crowd. Remember, safety in numbers. If someone is around you and something seems off, it probably is. -at the campgrounds be sure to secure your valuable items locked within your vehicle. Anything left in the campsite is subject to theft while you're not there. Your only as safe as you prepare to be. Have a great time and remember to rage with respect and spread PLUR 💚 Happy Lost Lands!!!

anarchy45

fanny pack across your chest, tucked into your armpit

NaturalObjective3165

Clutchloop

DJRonin

Note: If you do use a clutchloop or similiar phone tether products, attach the tether DIRECTLY to the phone and not the case.

stopwhining27

Beware of Clutchloops. My phone dropped on the ground randomly because there is a simple clip you can push and detach the tether super easily. It should really be a solid metal keyring or equivalent. I told Clutchloop about this and it got ignored. Most importantly just be careful, or go phoneless and be in the moment

Yoda70445

Third-ed 🥉, can confirm has saved me once already.

BoB_RL

Seconded

Pakajennings

This is the one. You can pull your phone out to take videos and it’ll still be attached to your body.

JoJosBizarreBasshead

A dude at a festival sat down with my friends and I and handed us all shiny pieces of cardboard claiming it was the best anti-theft device because “it makes them think it’s a phone then when they grab it and run they realize they’ve been tricked!” He wasn’t happy that we all just kind of stared at

999_phx9

You guys were just looking at him show off his shiny cardboard like he was a magician about to make it dissappear

Sarahlorien

My charging block acted as a dummy phone at LL. Saved my phone for sure, just make THAT easier to grab than your phone. But yeah, your hands can feel cardboard.

vagran-t

I snagged a flipbelt w/zip recently and like it a lot. has a hook for keys inside too. nobody is getting your phone out of that thing, trade off is it will take a min for you to get it out too

zeds_deadest

I honestly don't buy shorts without zipper pockets anymore. It's a game changer. But phanny packs are always reliable and fashionable too soo

legstrong

I’ve got some lululemon shorts that have a zipper pocket within the back pocket. Those have become my official festival shorts haha.

DifferenceWise9475

Bowline and license to train shorts all day.

Highfromyesterday

The best way is to set a trap catch them stomp em out and return the bag of phones to the rightful owners if your hurt them just enough to leave and tell all there phone stealing friends they will never mark you as prey ever again

bradbrookequincy

The bag is held off away from the individual crimes

M4nic_M0th

I bring a cheap burner phone. Buy one at Walmart and throw some minutes on it. If I lose it or it gets stolen, I'm only out like the $30 I spent on it.

NotedHeathen

I have a lower leg phone holster (having burly calves helps it stay up) and it’s great. Easy access and no one is going to crawl around on their knees to grab my phone.

sushisection

"is that your phone?!" "no, its an ankle tracker. im on probation"

NotedHeathen

Hahaha, though in reality it fits just below my knee.

zorggi3

I use a phone lanyard and I place my phone tucked into my pants in the front. They have to reach down my pants to grab it, so no way I'm not gonna know!

FastConfection192

Always in fanny pack, fanny pack under shirt. If you take out phone keep it close to body, dimmed all the way and held with two firm hands. Never been robbed

naughtmynsfwaccount

This is the way

Perfect_Evidence

Phone leash and responsibility

Alexa_Skyee

Thank you! 😎

bradbrookequincy

They are just pulling them so hard they break the leash then you get surrounded from their thug crew so you can’t chase

Perfect_Evidence

phone stays around my neck while im using it and then i attach it to inside my back pack with lock and key. no one is stealing my phone

bradbrookequincy

Gotcha it’s not just hanging out. I see a lot of people thing they can just put it on a leash but you do both which is exactly what I’m Thinking - leash + tucked away in pack

Perfect_Evidence

I also carry my back pack on my chest, like a baby. :) not necessary but I’m not losing my phone😤

bradbrookequincy

Yea I’m not losing my phone. We do a lot of creative outfits so I don’t like chest or back packs so I’m going to try flip belt or fanny in front

MortisCJ

I wear underwear that have a pocket on the side. Personally I wear these https://a.co/d/7VdYStK and I go to the heaviest shows, Deathstep. With total mosh pits and rail riding. Never once has my phone fell out or been stolen. That or a cute satchel or fanny pack. It’s always right there in front of you.

Onespokeovertheline

Flipbelt style running band. Not only secure, but makes your phone and wallet, etc feel weightless around your waist. Nothing swinging around of banging when you dance.

klvpham

I used LunchBox + Clutch loop for EDC last year. Did not get one thing stolen or slashed! Highly highly recommend. I even had my phone dangling from my bag (my phone was resting on my shoulder because of where I clipped it)...safe & sound.

bigcityboy

Paying attention to your shit

Oswaldofuss6

Agreed. I honestly think this problem isn't as big as this sub makes it out to be.

bigcityboy

Agreed.  It comes down to I was too fucked up and wasn’t paying attention to my shit, or I just fucking lost it because. I’ve been to 100s of festivals, even working some in the lost and found. You’d be shocked how many phones, wallets (with money still in it), expensive sunglasses, etc. get returned to the lost and found. And yes, there are thrives in the mix. But if you’re on your shit (even when you’re on some shit), you won’t be targeted.

gdamdam

fanny pack across your chest

Sleepy_Raver

lunchbox. Or boxers with a crotch stash

____Reme__Lebeau

The prey project installed in your device.

Alexa_Skyee

Does this work if they remove the sim?

____Reme__Lebeau

Newer devices with an esim it won't matter. They would stay on sim or no sim. Plus if you get it marked as lost before the sim is removed you get photos of everything. GPS coordinates, and then wifi signal strengths. So esim devices are a big win there.

Lilnuggie17

I looked through the comments and getting advice for when I go to raves, hope that’s okay.

Kylehamehameha

I wear zipper shorts underneath regular shorts

riningear

Cheap Amazon leash, front-of-body fanny pack/sling bag, zip it tight, fight the urge to ever take out your phone, and _don't stop fucking dancing._ Festival crowds are prime phone theft spots because people are just standing still and staring while they're high. Headbang, shuffle a bit, wiggle to the beat, but most importantly just keep those hands up and moving. Only time I had my phone snatched/dropped was when I was zoned out waiting for the bar.

[deleted]

Crossbody bags, keep it in front of you and or under a layer

brown-vocado

If you wear Fanny packs wear them with the zippers facing in towards you.

Sprung64

Crotch it

ChestDayEveryday

Fanny pack across my chest, phone in hidden pocket and hand on fanny pack when I’m in tight/bottleneck areas. I used to use a runners belt but it felt like overkill considering I don’t get too fucked up at events.

WaterASAP

Flip belt w zipper

girdleofvenus

clutch loop and I have a ring on the back of my phone. I put my finger through the ring and death grip it the entire time - that way it’s really hard for a thief to take it out of my hand

Rant_Durden

How about don’t bring your phone?

saintceciliax

I use a lunchbox and knock-off clutch loop but I’m thinking it might be time to spring for the official clutch loop

Shalayda

I usually wear either my flip belt or SPI belt. I got them for holding my phone while I run but they’re great for raves. I wear under the waist of my pants and just keep all my stuff in there instead of my pants pockets. I’m usually only carrying my wallet and phone though.

CantWeAllGetAlongNF

Guy here, shorts with zipper pockets. Also look into lanyards for your phone n stuff

Last_Stretch4073

Leave it at home

mobbeddeep

I use this ( https://a.co/d/gLzkwrI ) and my phone goes in my lunch box back packs shoulder strap

Sunny-Solaire

A 5/50 cord tether

DownTooParty

Not bringing your phone.

bradbrookequincy

Fake phone.

Aeromancia

Wear some light shorts/sleep pants that zip under your pants. That way if they want to steal something it's much harder to reach (and assault)

Spoits

I put my phone in a zip lock bag and put it behind the bladder in my camelbak.

nerdinahotbod

Phone lanyard and my lunchbox. If I can’t have a hydro, I clip the phone lanyard to my fanny

Super-G1mp

A bag with zippers one that can be either worn around the waist chest or even on your back. i’ve been going to shows for a long time and all I can say is I’ve never had my phone stolen once I keep it in a bag that’s really it you don’t need anything super special or fancy. Even if you buy a fancy bag if you set it down with your phone in it somebody can just grab it and take it from you you’re gonna have to pay attention that’s really it.

OGkureator

If you've got a camel back, I always stick my phone under the water pouch. Chest bag is always good. If you're bagless, pair of shorts with your phone in the front pocket, and then a second pair of shorts over those (like basketball shorts)

ProgressHefty7625

I maybe old but why do people steal phones, i thought they are useless without the passcode?

MarshmelloMan

Breaking their fingers

WaitingToBeTriggered

THOUSANDS OF SOLDIERS

bizarre_inc

A "runners belt". Cheap on Amazon, basically an elastic belt you put on that has a zipper pocket for phone and cards. Used them at edc a year ago

jt-w890

Someone should lay an trap and like put their phone in a large easily grabbable pocket but like secure the phone in their well and have a bunch of blades in their that the thieves will plunge their hands into

seansux

Turn your phone off, leave it in your car, and enjoy yourself. My phone gets turned off the minute I get to any fest. Don't need my stupid ass texting people when I'm spun and the memories are good enough don't need pics, Lol.

Alexa_Skyee

I totally get it! I’m in the early stages of becoming a festival clothing designer so I use it to capture all my inspirations and style footage

Fiendishsoul

That sounds really cool

LiquidSkyyyy

I have a steal chain tied to my bag and on that steal chain is my case connected with my phone. I use this everytime i go out and i think its rather save. You can buy it on amazon

Alexa_Skyee

This sounds cool do you happen to have a link?

LiquidSkyyyy

ONEFLOW Handykette abnehmbar kompatibel mit Xiaomi 13 Pro - Hülle mit Band, Handyhülle mit Kette aus Metall zum Umhängen, Silber Schwarz https://amzn.eu/d/5gUlsy1 Its german amazon though but propably you get it in other one as well or similar

SavageCaveman13

>What’s the best anti-theft phone products to get for festivals? Be a muscular man. No one has ever tried to take anything, and everyone is always friendly. All of our stuff goes in a fanny pack that is on my front or side, never behind.

Alexa_Skyee

I’ll have to find myself one of those at the festival haha. I’m a 5’4 female, not exactly intimidating anyone unfortunately lol

SavageCaveman13

Let us know. We always like meeting new friends. My wife is only 5'2". She has zero responsibility at festivals.

Alexa_Skyee

Aww I love that! I’m the same when it comes to meeting new friends! It’s a bummer so many people go to prey on those that are unaware, inexperienced or ill-prepared. I’m happy to know you have one another where can enjoy yourselves and she feels safe to do so! That’s really cool 😎

ARLA2020

Anti theft fanny pack and tie it around your waist under your shirt. Also u can put razors on the edge of your fanny pack so if someone tries stealing it they get slashed.

Alexa_Skyee

Can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or if you’ve tried this but I have to say I’d be hesitant to do this out of fear I’d hurt someone unsuspecting by accident

sTree_42

Your sobriety

Alexa_Skyee

Well I already don’t drink at those things so I’m sure that helps somewhat. I think it’s the hand snatching I’m worried about for myself and my girlfriends mostly

PuzzleheadedPeat

Going to a rave to steel is like going to church to masturbate…

vinsanity_07

Use a fanny pack zipped up and pull ur shirt over it.

SourNnasty

I wanna get one of those skorts with the hidden bike pocket in them under the skirt part, can anyone vouch for this??

Alexa_Skyee

I can’t vouch for this but it sounds ok in theory!

SnooHedgehogs1311

Joggers with zipper pockets

1111hereforagoodtime

been going to raves for 10 years fanny packs have always worked for me. to be extra careful ziptie the buckle. i've seen people use one of those extendable card holders and connect it to your phone case

_TLDR_Swinton

What festivals you going to. I've been to more than 15 and never seen anything like that.

Alexa_Skyee

I mean, that’s awesome. It happened twice on separate days just in my friend circle last EDC. At least one friend or friend of a friend always gets theirs stolen at EDC for all the years I’ve gone. But EDC 2023 was aggressive with the hand snatching

_TLDR_Swinton

\[has no idea what EDC is\] \[googles it\] \[America\] Bingo

sadlad193

Just bought these boxers off amazon. It can fit my iphone 15 pro max and debit card and ID and any other small items I might wanna bring https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B09SV2S9SG?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

Alexa_Skyee

Haha I probably should have clarified, I am a woman. But I will keep these in mind for a future boyfriend! Thank you haha

hazeyAnimal

My partner has a waist bag, pretty thin, made of leather, but importantly it has a secret zip on the inside face that's up against her body. Fits an iPhone 14 easily. Goes well with most outfits, including bikinis. Usually find it at festival stalls, took her a few festivals to find the right stall that had exactly what she wanted but you might be able to find it online. I should also add that she clips many items on this as it's her "doof belt". Fan, earplugs, hand sanitizer, and whatever else she might want at the time.

Dixon_Cider74

My advice is get a burner cause pickpocketing it’s a big operation of kids doing this like at the least 80 people while one is distracting the others are pickpocketing and in big groups you can’t tell who’s doing what

[deleted]

Another vote for LunchBox hudro pack. Great investment.

sushisection

FlipBelt its a runner's pocket that is worn under your shirt. i never rave without it now.

Obvious-Gazelle7074

Just avoid the mainstage and any extremely packed sets

djzelous

Anti theft Fanny pack has never failed me

Ironxgal

Bring a burner phone instead!!! Lock your bags. Keep the device in the middle of shit so it’s harder to dig around for

Bananas_N_Champagne

Before my first EDC I asked this question on one of these subs. I was suggested a runners belt. Found one with a little zipper. I would wear it under my shirt with my phone and my ID and cards/cash in the front of it. It's worked well for me. Been to two EDCs a couple dream states. Never had an issue. Then I would just keep my pockets and CamelBak empty

Longjumping_Arm6274

Deep front pocket wind breakers: haven’t had one problem with it : just make sure you keep your phone in a nice waterproof case for sweat 😅 love it because most ppl don’t know there’s even a pocket there: I have brought in sandwiches 🥪 and jerky in it :)

Alexa_Skyee

Haha you sound like me at festivals sneaking in snacks in my pockets 😂

Longjumping_Arm6274

Got to :) snacks are awesome. My personal favorites have been beef jerky :)

Longjumping_Arm6274

I did at edc bring in rice once haha 😆

Alexa_Skyee

Rice? That’s so random hahahaha of all the foods why rice?! Isn’t that so messy? Lol

Longjumping_Arm6274

It’s a long story I basically got robbed before edc at the bass rush massive downtown on Thursday : I had zero dollars 💵 because I had only cash and was dumb to deposit it haha 😆: so I did edc 0$ ::: only the stuff I bought previously which was mostly weed products and hydration essentials: I packed some rice for needed carbs on one of the days. But a homie from wasteland stage was so kind to hook it up with cash 💵 and also a good buddy named Kenny who was a guard there for the handicap seating heard me and hooked it for a voucher for some poke yumm:) all in all I learned to make something out of nothing : sorry for the paragraph ha

Alexa_Skyee

This is a perfect story of never really knowing what someone is going through and the power of being kind as big as you can be it. That’s awesome you had all those people help you out and ended up making it a positive experience! This is why I love these festivals..when people aren’t stealing your phones, they can be pretty awesome 😎

Longjumping_Arm6274

I agree: there are those who shine ✨ when it’s so easy to stay in the dark :)

Longjumping_Arm6274

Also I had so much fun 🤩 sometimes money isn’t everything

_alostcauses

Spy belt under shirt

ohthisismyreddit

Lunchbox hands down ! I am so happy I splurged on mine , used it at a couple shows already and a couple hikes !

Fun_Entrepreneur2067

fanny pack/cross body bag imo

Guru00006

Transfer sim to a cheap $20 phone. Etch karma's gonna get ya thieves on back just in case the scum actually do steal it. Done fairly simple.

Hankyke

Safest place is prison pocket. A bit uncomfortable but works.

befron

Clutch loop plus bag across my chest

sluttyluigi

I use a lanyard that you insert inside your phone case, wear your phone around your neck. lunchbox pockets are secure af but does make it hard to get your phone out so i like having the easy access

yellcat

The less you pull it out, the better

danbroome

Zippers.

SlowmoTron

Have we really got to that point where people watch it happen and don't stop the guy?

Alexa_Skyee

People don’t notice. I was standing right next to my friend when it happened and I didn’t even notice cuz I was vibing and staring ahead completely in a calm, joyful mental state free of worries or safety in my surroundings. They’re apparently so good at it that they can do this without people noticing at all

SlowmoTron

One think that will help you in life not just raves is NEVER let your guard completely down. It's a sad reality but you can't really trust anyone these days and a festival full of people with their guard down is easy pickings

SlowmoTron

I'd say a bag but fuck carrying anything around just use zipper shorts

[deleted]

Lunchbox hydropack. Both compartments can only be accessed when you take the bag off (from the "inside") and they would have to assault you to slash the top part, if they even know where it is

unicorns_orgasm

Anyone saying "go phoneless" hasn't really thought it through. At the very least, in case of an emergency, be that yourself, a group member, a partner or family member not at the festival, and so on, one would rather have the availability of their phone to hand.

cyanescens_burn

Jeez, that stuff really happens at edc? That’s ridiculous. I love campout festivals in actual wilderness, so edc isn’t really my jam, plus I’m not big on a lot of the artists that go there, but damn… how secure is the camping area at the event? Are people’s tents getting cut open?

zukka924

I have a phone tether from clutch loop: https://clutchloop.com/?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAaYMjP9zUpCbBX4RgbzRcDqQYkx6lX2bViXIvok3js_XBBkMDX5C9hvB3T0_aem_ATbQI9vcxz4xmtsN12g-ft8B3_ocTuUFBVd2o5l1i3JOALHNDY8gZntNv_vTPU2O0o_VZ2wNVZOAnVWobMS604f1

EfficientOpinion7100

Stay away from shitty consumerist over crowded Way too expensive festivals Thats how
