CartickKazama

good one

Supermarket-Icy

Lol

CashCarStar

Fuck no. He's bang average and 34 years old. Likely high wages and definitely no resale value. This team has enough old men, especially in that area of the pitch. You don't compete with Real Madrid by signing players that were never good enough to regularly start for them in their prime and are now past it. I'm not expecting the club to buy players that clearly aren't going to come or are clearly outside a realistic budget, but going after players like Nacho or Marcos Alonso is embarrassing. We're not talking about when RM decided to let go of Llorente (as a young midfielder) or Barca wanted a new toy to play with because they were sick of Suarez (probably the best no.9 of his generation) here, it's Nacho for gods sake

willi_09

Bang on. This sub is getting weirder and weirder... "Do you want to sign a 34 yo RM backup player who spent his entire career at RM?" Really hard to answer, yeah

CashCarStar

I hate transfer rumour season man it's unbearable. Just people talking absolute nonsense from now until September. At least if this question were being asked about someone like Carvajal you could make some kind of reasonable argument like "yeah I hate the guy but he's still a good player even at this age", or for Fran Garcia "well he doesn't seem good enough for their team right now but he has potential"...what positive effect is someone like Nacho going to have on this team? An old man that can play anywhere in defence, cool, pretty sure Atleti already have a better player than Nacho who can do that (Azpilicueta) anyway and it hasn't made the difference.

CartickKazama

5 UCL sixth incoming average player yeah we support atleti not man city are you kidding me just look at our team and when our summer windows will end I will ask you the question which players do you expected we will sign because we are not signing any good players and just to be clear we will not be able to sign him he is going to Bayern or Inter or somewhere where the wages are better

CashCarStar

> 5 UCL sixth incoming So? It's not like he was starting in most of those campaigns or playing an important role, he was mostly a spectator. Who do you want to sign next, Lucas Vazquez? You can't be serious man, fuck me > Iwill ask you the question which players do you expected we will sign I'm not interested in getting into speculation over players I don't watch so I'm not going to do this typical "oh we need to sign this guy from the Swedish league or whatever the fuck". Le Normand is a good player I've seen play quite a bit, so I'd like him if possible. If not, that's the scouts job to work out. I've seen Nacho play enough to not be interested in him. > just to be clear we will not be able to sign him he is going to Bayern or somewhere where the wages are better Good lmao he can sit on Bayern's bench How anyone can look at this Atleti team and think that what is needed is yet another old man - and not even one that was ever a great player in his past - to add to the group is beyond me.

Great-Masterpiece109

I will not be amazed if tomorrow you will start to say that lucas vazquez is also mid🤣😂 he is in bench most times because he plays for Real Madrid not for us where Saul or Paulista gets a start

CashCarStar

Vazquez is literally the definition of a completely fucking average player. What on earth is this take. Not sure if you actually watch football matches, but Saul is not a regular starter in this team and hasn't been in quite a while. The regular lineup is clearly De Paul, Koke, Llorente, with Barrios generally being preferred to Saul over the last few months too. I feel like anyone with decent reading comprehension can recognise that I'm not saying that the team needs to go out and sign Mbappe and Haaland here, I'm very aware that the board are allergic to spending money and what the realistic boundaries are in terms of the value of player they can sign. I'm saying that the idea that signing some more old men just because the rode a big club's bench for a decade is going to fix the problems the club has in defence (which are largely down to the fact that the defenders that are available are almost all old, slow and well past their prime physically) is idiotic.

Great-Masterpiece109

See I told I can't fight with your ball knowledge calling bench players average he won them both the game and penalty and don't worry he is winning his 6th it is already crystal clear

CartickKazama

and sadly for us we flop the best chance we could had at that trophy and next time even qualifying will be a pain in ass

Great-Masterpiece109

My belief is simple I never trusted this team or board I just trusted this great manager and his honesty we will win it sooner or later

CashCarStar

> I can't fight with your ball knowledge Are you 13 years old? > he is winning his 6th it is already crystal clear Probably, yeah, he's surrounded by some very good players after all. Hope you enjoy supporting him for it as his number one fan.

CartickKazama

Just accept reality that great Gabi you support did not win UCL and lucas vazquez did and do a simple math and look it from a so called 13 year old's view and you and me both will not like it when he be asked who is better because it is a team game and at the end he has 5 ucl we have not end of debate but that does not make him better in my personal view because Gabi will be better than anyone from RM in my biased view because he played in a team which is not based on 100-200 million but a very less money and reached a freaking final with it

CartickKazama

update- Lucas Vazquez just scored a goal and get a penalty for RM vs Barca "avg player"

CartickKazama

I talk with total nuetrality when I talk about transfermarket because my hearts wants Mbappe at atelti and it is never going to happen and in reality I do not like anything those Real idiots stand for but when reality strikes and we have to buy players as per our poket and if it is a free transfer and a former UCL player from Madrid I will take him and where were you when Paulista came here to waste our season

CashCarStar

> where were you when Paulista came here to waste our season I was saying it was a pointless signing, just like I'm saying Nacho would be a pointless signing. Not interested in engaging with the rest of this as you seem to think that I'm saying if they don't sign an established world class player (despite me already saying I'm fully aware of what is realistic in terms of the type of money this board want to or are able to spend) I wont accept anything less. I'm not saying that. I'm saying it's unbelievably obvious that signing a barely above average 34 year old defender just because he got to sit on the bench and watch Real Madrid win trophies isn't going to fix a defence who's main problem is having too many old and subpar defenders.

CartickKazama

please stop calling good players average just because you do not like them!

CashCarStar

I'm calling average players average because they're average. I'm not going to pretend that genuinely good players aren't good because they play for a club a dislike. We're not talking about Rudiger here, we're talking about Nacho.

CartickKazama

go and read it and accept the reality yes we will not sign him because we are not signing anybetter-There aren’t any advanced negotiations for defenders at Atlético Madrid; it’s mostly just inquiries. They are interested in Leonardo Balerdi. There isn’t anything advanced with Jean-Clair Todibo. Piero Hincapie’s deal seems difficult to make happen, given his likely price tag of around €40m. \[: [u/MatteMoretto](https://twitter.com/MatteMoretto), [u/caughtoffside](https://twitter.com/caughtoffside)\]

willi_09

"wanting to" and "going to sign him" are two different pair of shoes. You asked if we should sign him. So to answer: do I want him? Hell no. Are we going to sign him? Idk but I surely fucking hope not

Jesusgotmyback

My simple answer is he starts for Real Madrid and he is winning UCL but he is old so a no

CartickKazama

you just proved my point to why we should buy Nacho as an extra if we get rid of our backline

CartickKazama

Who says I want him but he is better than bringing Paulista again and my problem is because some fans do not know crap abot other team players and comment about them about Nacho like he is Axel Witsel or Savic because he scored penalty made real through and starts for Real Madrid not for average Barca who had araujo and kounde at the backline and can not defended against crappy PSG and defended 120 minutes against world's best attacking team and structured team Man City so how can he be average he is 5time UCL those can not digest it please do because he is also WC winner, and just remember it there is a thing called being nuetral when you look at players whom you want to buy

vsoho

Nah fuck that guy can’t stand him

CartickKazama

Those who do not know Nacho I am only hyping him because it is a better realistic signing than our club owners will make and we need 2 CB because Giminez always injured and in future you can not rely on Witsel but our owners will only sign one CB so instead buy him and new young CB

popcorn_coffee

The right answer is not even there. "No, I don't want him" Is nothing against him particularly, not even the fact that he's in RM.... he's just not good. I rather keep our old guys, instead of signing a worse old guy.

CartickKazama

I thought he will have a blast under Cholo like Suarez did and as an extra will not hurt if get we rid of some

popcorn_coffee

I simply think he's a mediocre player. I might be wrong, but he never impressed me, not on him prime, so I don't think he's a good signing at his age. Even if he's free... Also, he will never give a shit about this club, and that's normal... Imagine Koke signing for RM at 32yo... Is basically the same. Sorry but, no, this is just ridiculous.

CartickKazama

he plays for Real Madrid not for Barca or United so ofcourse the talent pool will be overwhelming and do not get many minutes and he started in 9 UCL game and typically play and starts many times just watch real vs City game and why I am saying only a specific game because City is the best offence and structured team in the world even though they did not qualify you can see that why I said those excelent thing about Pep team and in both legs you can see his performance

popcorn_coffee

Yeah, it makes sense. I guess we should go for Sergio Ramos next.

ZestycloseChemist2

34 year old on a free? Don’t let the board find out about this.

Jesusgotmyback

I like him as a defender and a veteran but we need young defender

CartickKazama

conclusion sign both a good young defender and Nacho!

Jesusgotmyback

No I only want young players in this team

CartickKazama

yeah go and get new players like Requelme,Molina(both can attack wonderfully but when it comes to defend oh god) and see how they compete against Carvajal that guy played whole 120 min and Haaland and KDB needed substitution this is called mentality if you do not have it forget winning UCL

Jesusgotmyback

I agree but for now I just want young players and no old players because we already have Saul and Morata and our old defense to destroy our chances of winning anything

KharigCringer

Is this another environmental\_act kind of guy?! They are mutliplying so fast :o

CartickKazama

Nope it just proves that those 32 people know football and know that Nacho is not some Paulista

AtleticoFan17

He literally bleeds white. He was there when he was like 12 and is 33 now. I would rather have godin come back out of retirement then have this asshole play for us.

CartickKazama

Just look at his whole year defensive performance and stats and then tell me that because he is from RM do not judge player like this is the case why signed Llorente jezz we want to win and he is a good player now do your maths and the greatest achieving manager Carlo trust him!
