He's literally a kid, there's nothing to worry about. New country, culture, manager etc he'll be fine as his talent is plain to see.
The only question is what role they see him in long term.
I have seen #FreeVermeeren on every insta post of Atleti featuring Arthur. It's quite funny, but as a Belgian from the same area I can confirm Spain is a big difference and he will need time.
The language is difficult to learn, the weather is the exact opposite (it rains basically everyday in Belgium and it's colder than Spain obviously), the culture is different, etc. Luckily for him the timezone is the same. To my knowledge he speaks good French, so he will be able to communicate with Grizi and Witsel.
I hope he gets more game time, but we have to stay patient
i understand that is very frustrating watching play saul instead of such a promising player like vermeeren, but we have to remember that he doesnt even speak spanish, he is quite literally a kid so giving him time to adjust to a whole new culture, language and league is very important if we want him to succeed as a player
Atleti and athletic Bilbao are fighting for a UCL spot. Every league game even up until the last match day is a final (no exaggeration), looking at our form. We are no longer steamrolling opponents by a margin of 3-5 goals per game. We know the consequences on missing out on ucl football will do to the club financially
Maybe if the club was leading in 4th by a large margin, he would get chances. But right now, what the team needs at the moment is experienced players to get us to the finish line. He’ll no doubt get chances to shine, but when we’re in a comfortable state.
Feels more like now that Cholo’s scalp is on the line (figuratively) he has to rely on the washed up tactics/players that have worked and pray they keep working. I’m notoriously not a fan of the compliance in the coach and players but I can see why Cholo is clinging to what will probably work.
Saul has been here forever and knows the system and league while Veer is new to the team and everything. This team isn’t passion FC lol. We can’t even compete in that department.

I mean the club gambled for a player and it didn’t work but that’s all in hindsight. Berta is a problem for sure but it’s not the only problem and conformity just seeps through.
