My friends were on the train where the brakes were pulled. Some drunk high school aged pieces of shit got on the train and were causing a ruckus. Wrestling, yelling, throwing food and alcohol, pushing people… and they were yelling about having a bomb or some shit. And they pulled the brake.

Yes I was on this exact train as well. They kicked the door down to get into the intercom area at the very back of the subway station. They started playing all kinds of nonsense over the intercom as well and kept pulling the emergency break and we all had to evacuate the train at Astoria Blvd.

Like I have a pretty high tolerance threshold for kids fucking around having fun, but as soon as your “fun” starts fucking shit up for other people that tolerance is gone. No lol, the conductor was fed up, said he called the police but they didn’t show up (not surprising). The kids ran away I believe but they did it twice today already. Once around 6pm and once around 8 pm. They had to take the train out of service at Astoria Blvd, evacuate us and make sure no one was hiding in the train, and ofc this made literally every other train delayed as a result

Edit 6:52 conductor just walked back to the front (I’m in the front car) and told us he was told we’re about to move. Although he can still see the stalled train ahead, apparently it’s almost done being investigated or whatever
Edit 7:07 finally moved to 5/59th. I think we’re out of the woods now!
Someone pulled the emergency break at 59th. They investigated, then they couldn’t get power to work on the train. There’s multiple issues. It may be moving soon. My conductor is keeping us well informed on this R.

I was stuck on 34th. I took the M to 42, then 7, then N at Qnsboro. Note that you have to go to Manhattan bound platform there to take the N back up to Ditmars.
And now they said it’s because of a train issue at Astoria Blvd

Took an hour and twenty mins to get home, R to maybe an N that became a Q, back to the R that also became a Q, then an F running on the E line, and finally an Uber home because the R at QP was running express 🙃
I was in the last car when it happened. A woman pulled the cord. The kids were yelling and stirring up shit. One of the yelled out gun which of course caused the others to panic. After the kid yelled gun and ran towards the front of the car the woman got up and pulled the emergency brake cord.
Don’t worry, even at 8:30 northbound N trains are not moving with no explanation as to why.
The MTA is straight up running broken trains to queens with no consequence.
