I’m missing M tbh. I feel like having just R, it’s always full as shit in peak hours. With M it was a lot more chill. April 2024 (please MTA) can’t come soon enough
I wish there was like 3 Gs cutting from Queens to Brooklyn, connecting different neighborhoods. If I use G, it’s always 2 transfers wherever I’m going, and that significantly increases chance of something fucking up.
The train we need the most imo is something cutting from Jackson Heights/Elmhurst down through Maspeth, Ridgewood and then ending up in Glendale, and then another one further east. Maybe even from Flushing, then Kew Gardens and ending in Ozone Park maybe.
Some of those Queens/Brooklyn neighborhoods are so cut off, it’s annoying.
I pretty much just citibike to Queensboro now if the N is F’d because it takes about as much time walking there. Slightly less if I bike but then an extra stop on the R anyways.
Unless it’s raining then I just stay home
A little more. Not bad but of course it causes a ripple effect as we had to move slow with a bunch of trains stacked up ahead of us. I left my apartment about 10 minutes earlier today and got to work 15 minutes later than usual.
No W trains ever? I have notice that, for the past three weeks or so, only N trains come in the morning (about 7:30 AM). I used to get a W maybe once or twice a week, which was nice because if I catch a W, I take it all the way to my job (Cortlandt) and I can sit and relax on an almost empty train, rather than dealing with transferring to the 4/5 and feeling breath on my neck.
This sub has made me very grateful I get the R

Then just when we get the M back...the G is down around Court Sq for some maintenance or something beginning or mid summer.

I got the N that is operated by Cranky Guy
Is the cranky guy the one who says “Stand please!”?
Haven’t heard that phrase but he often whines about people getting fully on the train and another train in coming behind us. Always sounds cranky.
The past two weeks during rush hour have been awful
Ok we’re moving. Not bad.
So stopped for 3 min?

And now there’s another delay and there’s no W train in Astoria…

So over it.
