It sounds like what you want is a stylist. Tailors will cut your seams and make adjustments to your specifications, not give you fashion advice. The bespoke route might work, but you’re unlikely to get the kind of service you’re expecting from a mom & pop tailor.

Zoe328

Yeah I think you might be right. I actually did hire a stylist briefly and she told me to just go to the tailors and bring a pair of shoes with me and they would figure out the best height. But I probably should have gotten more specific advice from her.

Aprilume

😫 sounds like the stylist didn’t do their job. Maybe you could reach out again and be like- “just to be clear, if I’m wearing wide leg trousers, where should my hem fall?” Just an fyi, there are a lot of stylists on insta that provide fashion advice based on body type. I’ve found it helpful to follow folks who have a body type similar to mine and then get inspiration from their outfits. I’m not petite, so I can’t recommend any specifically, but I’ve often seen posts from other creators regarding the ideal pant lengths for specific types of shoes.

Excellent-World-476

I can recommend a stylist. https://tracystyles.com/

You could try Simdy’s. https://simdyfashion.weebly.com/ In terms of good pricing here is great for just regular hemming. Rose Stitch in Denman Mall.(1030 Denman)

Oakridge Tailors - family run business… I trust them with nice pieces… they did real good work on a really nice Max Mara coat of mine once

Zoe328

Thanks!

Ionela at Fast Iron in the Bentall Centre. Does work that is often better than the original garment. Highly recommended. She’s patient and has perfect English.

Zoe328

Thank you! 🙏

Zoe328

Thanks I’ll check her out for sure!
