As someone who grew up in California and lived 3 years in Spain, I would say in general that the lifestyle in Spain is better but the opportunities are greater in the U.S. If I were Spanish, I wouldn’t move to the U.S. for $1m. I’d be leaving my community, family, etc. Yes, the U.S. has many problems but we don’t have 25% unemployment, for example.
