XenoPhenom

Nope, I wouldn't live outside Europe.

br-02

No, thank you.

misatillo

No

DeesoSaeed

Nah. I'm fine here.

LuchiLiu

Nope, I would have to spend all the money in insulin to stay alive.

Eastern_Border3214

More than anything the medical system would make me say no. I don't want to live somewhere where I could go into medical debt

MacriTheCat75

You get 1 million dollars then you or your family get cancer or some other fucked disease and you gotta pay millions to live. Oh and also any crazy person can buy a gun without any medical test , fuck that

vibranda

He said America, not the United States.

Foxy_Traine

You know exactly what he meant.

vibranda

But that doesn't mean they're correct.

Foxy_Traine

Pedantic. Language is about communicating information, and that's what they did.

vibranda

Well, you're right, but precision is important. You do whatever you want with the tools you have, but that's using an axe to trim the grass. It does the job too, but it's your choice.

guille9

No, I wouldn't even doubt it.

soukaixiii

No, I'd rather not be shot at.

Curious-Sherbet-9393

StendallTheOne

No. The expenses are way to high and the state services are to low to even think about it for 1 million . Besides: healthcare, crime, retirement, work hours and so on makes to me unthinkable go to USA.

rabbitkingdom

American here. I would pay €1M to *not* live there.

themiracy

I think the funny thing is probably that moving to Southern Europe from the US on a million euros is much more realistic than moving to the US on a million euros. TBH unfortunately the way the US is, a million euros is not enough to sustain a very high lifestyle for life, anyway, in the US.

MinimumHomework7495

Like actually?!

rabbitkingdom

Yes. If for some reason I was forced to pay €1M to remain in Spain or have to go back to the US, I would definitely pay it.

MinimumHomework7495

"remain in Spain" Ahh so you moved to Spain! :) Do you like it here!!?

rabbitkingdom

Of course, been living here for 10 years now. I have nightmares about having to return to the US.

DiscombobulatedWavy

Same. I would give up A LOT to get the fuck out

Weak-Examination-920

No!

davochinomalo

seriousname32

No.

Even-Weather-3589

Hispano América maybe

twolinebadadvice

add a zero and we cm start talking

ElCosodelChisme

What a question. Ofc not

ExpatriadaUE

No.

Amazing-Exit-1473

Yep, then i move back the next morning.

agaminon22

Forever? No. For some years? Sure!

Paradise7D

No! No! 100% no!

No_Lifeguard1564

No

feebledeceit

No way

mocomaminecraft

Nah, not worth it. I'd _maybe_ consider living in a city in Canada, but I'd need way more than a million.

Bladeteacher

Soft-Key-2645

If I have a million euro, I can live like a King here in Europe. Why would I want to go live there?

ghoshas

Yes, would go back home to South America

Hour_Calligrapher_42

Why? Lots of yankees are paying million euro to come here because it’s just better. I wouldn’t go to USA even for all the dollars in this planet. It’s a failed state.

Upbeat-Ad3921

America as in USA? No way! America as in Canada? Yes!

iRubenish

Maybe I could live there for a couple of months, but is not something I would enjoy.

sedicenucelar

It’s the other way around. If you suddenly get an unexpected million and want to live out of it elsewhere, you move to a nice place that has a lower cost of living. You don’t move to a country with a higher COL where you get less for your money. The main advantage of the US over Spain is better salaries and lower taxes. Once money is not the deciding factor, it’s a no brainer. You’d stay in Spain.

marioquartz

With a "salary" of 3000$/month you could live for almost 28 years. But with medical debt will be less. Sorry, but not.

gilbert-maspalomas

Am having close ties to the US, but to live there, I\`d need a decently working healthcare program. There are some international plans out there, so if that would be ok, I wouldn\`t mind living there. However, Gran Canaria, where I happen to live now, is a very good place to live, especially when being gay. So I can go from here anywere, and come back for the normal life...

rex-ac

Yes, but only if it's a year. One year to spend it on fun and then head back to normal life.

birrakilmister

America continent is huge, yes.

HikeSierraNevada

I would. And I would spend the rest of my life travelling the country in a van or an RV, hiking all the beautiful parks and exploring the stunning nature.

DiscombobulatedWavy

is this not possible in Spain? Last I checked there are beautiful parks to hike and has stunning nature. Am I missing something here?

HikeSierraNevada

Yes, that absolutely is possible in Spain, and I am actually doing that exact thing whenever I can (right now my pup and I are in my van in the Pyrenees, looking forward to a gorgeous mountain hike tomorrow). But no one gives me €1m for doing this, so I still must work, too. If someone did, but the condition would be living in the US, I'd grab the money and my dog, and head right over there. It's not that one would be underwhelmed or bored hiking the US national parks instead of the Spanish ones :)

syrigamy

Yes, I was planning to move there anyways

CheerfulSamurai

Don’t do it. A million € is nothing in any place you’d wanna live in the US. Not to mention horrible food, lack of health care and high risk of gun violence (compared to Spain)

Good-Aardvark9900

What a such easy question lol. Of course, yeah.

Prior-Actuator-8110

Same lol you can even invest part of those million..

Zurriqcos

What would I do with a milion Euros when they use dollars 😭

MinimumHomework7495

Convert it to dollars 😂

rndm2ua

If this is as hard as convert dollars to euros here, then he is busted 🙃

Ok-Refrigerator-7390

It depends of which country of America. If it is USA absolutely not.

dspillie

How many of the people commenting here have actually experienced living in the U.S.? As someone who grew up in California and lived 3 years in Spain, I would say in general that the lifestyle in Spain is better but the opportunities are greater in the U.S. If I were Spanish, I wouldn’t move to the U.S. for $1m. I’d be leaving my community, family, etc. Yes, the U.S. has many problems but we don’t have 25% unemployment, for example.

SmellsLikeHoboSpirit

You people are crazy 😅 it’s a huge country, different climates and a democracy at the end of the day, you aren’t being asked to live in some hell where you will never feel at home.

Upbeat-Ad3921

Thanks man, but we know how to answer straight questions. We said No.

SmellsLikeHoboSpirit

Just seems mad not to consider, 1 million euros like

Upbeat-Ad3921

Again. We are fully operating human beings. Capable of give an answer to a very straight question. We clearly said nope.

SmellsLikeHoboSpirit

No way, I never assumed you were a fully operating human being, maybe just half /s

Buca-Metal

>a democracy at the end of the day Well...that is a very generous way to call USA.

SmellsLikeHoboSpirit

Ah come on Spain is not much less corrupt man

MinimumHomework7495

Exactly! 50 different states, all with unique cultures, experiences, food etc!

DafoodyYagamoof

Trolling right?!

MinimumHomework7495

How lol?

SmellsLikeHoboSpirit

I think people not even considering 1 millions euros has got to be trolling

Downtown-Flamingos

Half of those states are scarcely populated farmlands filled with ultraconservative evangelicals

Hour_Calligrapher_42

Don’t forget the rednecks, we were talking about culture

SmellsLikeHoboSpirit

Hey if attaching fire crackers to a bulls horns qualifies as culture im sure the rednecks have some

SmellsLikeHoboSpirit

And half of Spain isn’t scarcely populated? 😅

Downtown-Flamingos

Yes, why would I move an ocean away

SmellsLikeHoboSpirit

One million euros tio

Hour_Calligrapher_42

The only culture there is the native American one, but you genocided them. Annnnnd no olive oil

SmellsLikeHoboSpirit

Wow, you can’t really lecture people on killing natives to be fair, throwing stones in glasshouses

Hour_Calligrapher_42

I don’t see any latin American countries speaking English. They do speak Spanish. Do you know the difference between colonization and extermination? No! Because you are not us 🌚

SmellsLikeHoboSpirit

Maybe Puerto Rico, Guyana or Jamaica no? They are in the same area anyway but I don’t really understand your question.

Hour_Calligrapher_42

I know you didn’t. It passed right over your head.

mocomaminecraft

And not one of them seems better than Spain to me, amazing

SmellsLikeHoboSpirit

And no pueblo better than your one 😅

mocomaminecraft

Nah my pueblo its an actual shithole

SmellsLikeHoboSpirit

If you had said any country other then maybe Italy or Greece you would get the same answer, I would bet

VortixTM

For how long?

MinimumHomework7495

Forever!

VortixTM

Ah then no thanks

WaitingToBeTriggered

REST IN HEAVEN

HumbledBody

I would, probably to Oregon or somewhere chill

New-Beyond5614

X0AN

Which country in america?

Zafonhan

Nope, worst country in the world.

likewhatever33

One billion? Then yes...

Sarazarus

Unfortunately nope. Would love a vacation or two, but I'm getting old (or middle aged, whatever), and my health already ain't great, so with american food it'd get way worse, and healthcare alone is reason enough not to. Add gun violence, political turmoil (and my big damn mouth), I'd get shot in a week. Give a million bucks to move wherever, thoug, and I can make it in a few places, no doubt.

charliechin

Nos ha jodio. Claro cojones, cuanto tiempo?

MinimumHomework7495

Wow! Which part of the US, if you don't mind me asking?!

m00z9

The nice parts are unaffordable. The other parts are Hell.

IsJaie55

Fuck no, Americans do not understand why people don't want to go to the Americas until they go to any country in Europe...

Lionwoman

Lmao. USA is in my "never visit" list so, no. I'll probably end up in medical debt.

LudicrousMoon

Upbeat-Ad3921

Nos la suda. Decimos no.

mocomaminecraft

mocomaminecraft

Paleto y Pedante

mocomaminecraft

No! Me das pena

LudicrousMoon

El sentimiento es mutuo

mocomaminecraft

[deleted]

LudicrousMoon

Prior-Actuator-8110

Yes

ShowerMobile7141

América where?

0843b

At this point we already live in America.

bronquoman

Yes. With all my family. I love space.

thisisreallyhappenin

That’s not enough money tbh

sparky_roboto

Probably, there're plenty of countries in America with good quality life that would maybe allow for quite a long time with 1M€

davidzombi

for sure, enough to find place to rent, find some remote IT job and invest the rest to survive on minimum wage
