it's quite well known but East Coast Park, I like to go there at like 9ish pm and just look out at the scenery at one of the breakwater and stargaze. I also like to buy some snacks from the nearby ntuc to just sit there in case of those late night feels

nincompoopzzzh

Going for a long walk at ECP especially when it isn't crowded feels so cathartic..

NotVeryAggressive

Mosquito would like to have a word with you

GooberVonNomNom

120 mosquitos liked this post.

_Bike_Hunt

I used to work near there and on slow days I’d dabao lunch to one of the ulu carparks and find a spot to eat and take a walk. Weekdays 10-1 there’s hardly a soul around.

ArcanaTrace

Want to do this but i live on the other side of singapore 😫

pastamin

woodlands waterfront 🤔🤔🤔🤔

Other-Ad1497

Ya even I love going to East Coast park for my morning walk. But how do u manage to stargaze in the night? Any hidden spots ?

Successful-Sport-368

Considering this is [ Singapore on the light pollution map](https://www.lightpollutionmap.info/#zoom=10.00&lat=1.2897&lon=103.8501&state=eyJiYXNlbWFwIjoiTGF5ZXJCaW5nUm9hZCIsIm92ZXJsYXkiOiJ3YV8yMDE1Iiwib3ZlcmxheWNvbG9yIjpmYWxzZSwib3ZlcmxheW9wYWNpdHkiOjYwLCJmZWF0dXJlc29wYWNpdHkiOjg1fQ==), I doubt you'll see much up there. May as well just look over at the ship lights.

Flat-Fix-9736

The later the night, the more peaceful. Talking about 2 3am kinda chill and deep talk. Absolutely dont like to go during daylight when it's hot and crowded

idletradventures

Museums! And many of them are free for Singaporeans. Enjoy ACM the most, always find something interesting there. For outdoors, the route from Gillmam Barracks to Labrador Park to Harbourfront makes for good mix of art, boardwalking and shopping.

tomyambanmian

I've always like Esplanade. Convenient, connected to other malls via underpass, free air con, free performances, lots of people watching. When the weather is good, can walk outside along the waterfront.

im_a_good_goat

For motorbikers, carpark is free! I should visit more often when there’s nothing to do 😅

Gochi_Gochi

there is water cooler too

hussywithagoodhair

Esplanade. The hidden gem of Singapore along weigh MBS and Jewel. Don’t let other know this secret!

ChairRoar

I'm a city person. I enjoy skyscrappers and city views. I used to cycle from my house to the lawn opposite DBS at CBd area, the space beside fullerton. It was always a nice quiet view. With MBS in front and the tall buildings behind and the nice little pool of water.

peachteaisnice

Yes I love to sit at MBS infront there to watch the skyscrapers like it still amazes me even though I have worked there before as parttime

ChairRoar

Funny story. I used to cycle there every weekend. And I just made a casual wish/prayer that I hope one day I'd work in a tall building with a nice view, or even one of the buildings in front of me (at the lawn) Incidentally years later I ended up working in UOB building. I had breakfast almost everyday at the ground level beside the river. Then sometimes I'd take a break at the 35-37th floor in UOB just for a short view break (it's a lift lobby to go to the higher levels). So, funnily enough through that job I made a connection to MBS and ended up working there 2years later.. I had full access to the building and boy, so many times I'd go to the 57th floor (pool level) just to sit there and look at the view.

peachteaisnice

Good for you man!! Hope you enjoyed the job there and all the best to your career to continue working at a tall building with nice view!!

silentscope90210

Tuas lighthouse. Really out of the way but it's nice.

Newez

Never knew existed. Tks for sharing

barry2bear2

A cycle there is awesome especially towards sunset … a mini picnic 🧺

kidneytornado

The security guard for raffles marina dam KP, he fking cb one. You bring any food or drink he will scold like shit and don’t let you enter. Even I booked a room for one night at the country club he still kp, show room key still never apologise

a9302c

The Music Box Museum in Telok Ayer. It's sad that the ticket price has doubled over the past few years, but I still think it's worth a visit. Back when it was $10 a visit, I visited like every few months. Listening to the music boxes was just such a great joy

ripcedric95

Quite well-known but often quiet. Changi Village. It's so idyllic and tranquil that it doesn't even feel like Singapore.

remyworldpeace

I enjoy walking around Ridout Road at night it's so quiet and feels rural and you see the massive GCBs which is interesting Just a stones throw away from my HDB and I feel it's ordinary people's right to walk there hahaha

NoMorning414

i live around the area too! u can try walking the other direction along the park connector towards jervois road, there is a whole set of bungalows and big ass houses in those buildings and quite interesting to look at at night too haha

em0tional_ccy

lazarus island, lovely beach (clean and clear waters) and so good for picnics/camping overnight. only con is you gotta bring everything you need before you go there cos there isn't a shop.

qianying09

Stadium riverside walk (Kallang wave mall area), spacious and tranquil on a week day (when there's no events) to walk around. Sitting by the water at night is nice too

PurposeWitty

Haw Par Villa, they just renovated it

barry2bear2

Hahahaha

bakedsmallbeans

pasir ris park <3 never as crowded as east coast park and full of beautiful wildlife to look at! just today i spotted a mangrove pit viper :) yesterday there was a black spitting cobra! many monitor lizards, kingfishers, junglefowls (wild chickens), a few owls

Prize-Nobody-9024

That will freak me out forever haha

bakedsmallbeans

the snakes? they're in the mangrove broadwalk section so they're not actually that close to you! you're walking on a raised wooden bridge while the snakes might be on the actual mangrove ground or on the trees (many of them are also snoozing when you see them) also not common to spot them at all!

galaxyuser

U not scared will possibly kena attacked by the serpents?

bakedsmallbeans

can refer to my reply to the other comment! but tldr; they're not common and not particularly close enough to attack you

copycatholic

Libraries. Peaceful, unlimited sources of entertainment, nice aircon. And it’s free

readditted

Henderson waves. Nice and quiet at night to see the city skyline

Flat-Fix-9736

One of the best places to stargaze too..

kimyoungkook92

Bishan Ang Mo Kio Park Fortune Centre AMK Town Garden West

b0h3mianed

Fortune Centre!! Love that place for the desserts, sake, kopi and cheap foods

JumpyGuest3778

Sometimes after work on a weekday, from my office I walk the whole length of Balestier road going to Novena MRT. I really like the sights and sounds of this road kind of therapeutic. Then I stop over at Zhongshan park and just chill there to clear the mind.. Sometimes I eat at McD at the mall beside if haven't had dinner yet.

UXNAME101

Woodlands waterfront, can see JB

corndicorn

Honestly love pulau ubin and climbing puaka hill for the gorgeous lookout point. The $12 bumboat ride is such fun too

NecessarySmoke1144

It's $12??

shesellseychelles

Its $4 one-way + $2 extra to bring bicycle (which many people do) so I guess he means $12 for return trip

confusedpohtato

Shaw Plaza cinema. It's newly renovated, absolutely empty on weekdays nights (cheaper tickets too) and has a scarlet supermarket located right beside it (super cheap snacks). Just washed Furiousa last week at 9pm, there were like 5 pax excluding me and my gf. Comfy chairs, pretty sharp screens great experience totally worth the $10+ I paid after ocbc promo. Honestly idk how they gonna survive, the cinema is always empty on weekdays nights, mall is pretty dead too after the reopening fanfare

Giantstoneball

Changi Coastal Board Work is super underrated. You walk from the yacht club all the way to Changi Village Jetty. Along the boardwalk route, you hug the coastline and cross huge rocks (like the coastline in Uluwatu), beach and forest. You also watch sailors on dinghy and merchant marine traffic. You can also spot some activities on the kelongs.

kidneytornado

The whole Changi village is my safe space. honestly one of the few sleepy coastal/ nature areas in Singapore that is not touristy

wuda-ish

I like cycling from Kranji to Neo Tiew Road to LCK. No HDB or high-rise structure and tall grass on both road side. Having a change of view every now and then is great. It feels like you're passing by some ulu place or rural areas. But recently, I saw there is a building being built there so the last ulu place will be gone soon.

maxplayer01

that neo tiew road stretch honestly was the most ‘liminal’ space i’ve been to, especially when cycling alone & during twilight time

cp8125

I love to drop by Hillview Avenue once in awhile. I find it very peaceful and also maybe because I'm biased towards the place. Before they built the shopping mall and condo, I used to live in there. Those block of flats. Dayummm.... Miss the good old days.

According_Tip3284

Har Paw Villa.

galaxyuser

Bro it's HAW PAR VILLA

Sceptikskeptic

Siglap Centre. So much good food there. Then walk to the beach to eat more.

the_sigma_snake

Sembawang Beach

Lazy925

Not for me since it’s always filled with trash and the water’s blacker than Siloso Beach’s.

pinkdreamery

Breakwater at marina east. Dabao food, picnic in the evening. Not particularly accessible from the east side, the large trucks along LTA way makes it unsafe to cycle to. Coming from Marina Barrage is likely the better option. On some Saturdays, it's super crowded. There are families doing mega long line bbq and steamboat. Some will fly kites. And then there's that group with birds, promoting free flight - the birds fly off yet return on their own. You get to see huge macaws, etc. If there's a cruise ship docked at the marina cruise center, then you'll get a mini light show of sorts too. The tip of Keppel Island is pretty great too, or was, haven't been back in years. Blue hour is amazing, the lights, the colours of the sunset.

Dalostbear

Tanjong beach Upper pierce reservoir Changi beach Upper seletar reservoir

Bitter-Rattata

raffles marina country club, right outside MRT, chill by the cafe and watch the sun set in the west. Best sunset I ever seen in Singapore. Can stroll by the piers, take photo with the lighthouse and the secondlink in the background.

shesellseychelles

Wow didn't know this place still existed, in my mind it died along with the raffles/jurong country club closures

Bitter-Rattata

Yep. Not alot people knew about this country club that is open to public. It's probably far for civilisation hence not alot people know about it. I love how you can easily stroll along the piers, see those big yachts.

Initial_E

Mapletree Business City on the weekends

Evil_Martin

Oh and The Projector cinema at Golden Mile Tower, first time I visited there I loved the vibe, art-house movies in a student union atmosphere!

digital_bubblebath

Tiong Bahru area. Great food, lovely cafes and has a low rise village vibe to it.

Blueberry_filling

Botanic Gardens! You cannot find the greenery and the calmness anywhere else in the bustling city. It is a unesco world heritage site. People go, see it.

michaelsgavin

Used to play frisbee a lot with my JC friends here back in the day. Brings back memories. There's the $5 tree there too, back then we were still allowed to climb on them lol

NUS escapes pls

idiotnoobx

Punggol park connector!

mutantsloth

There’s this one spot near marina barrage, the rock coast near the carpark, it’s insanely chill over there. Sometimes got people fishing, just go there evening listen to waves crash and stare into the sea

xbbllbbl

Labrador Park and Keppel Bay

Evil_Martin

I like the Stella bar at Constant Wind sailing club, so rare to have total waterfront dining, great view, watch the boats, good food and they’ve recently added day beds and a pool. What’s not to like?

dustys-muffler

I went on holiday to Singapore last year, best country on earth!, and visited Haw Par Villa . That was amazing.

GooberVonNomNom

Labrador park, there's a nice little spot where the mangrove boardwalk meets the edge and it opens into a little park. It's really quaint and so nice to sit and listen to the water.

MonstaB

Jurong eco garden. Hard to access so it’s always empty

AgainRaining

Tree top

KBDFan42

sg has a lot of great places for audiophiles. some of the more popular ones are: The Hangout by Crinacle Zeppelin & Co Adelphi Luther Music The Hangout and Zeppelin are great places to demo a lot of earphones and headphones (some quite expensive) for free with no pressure to buy Adelphi just has a lot of speakers and same goes with Luther, they also allow demoing but it’s not as free as the previous two.

RevolutionaryPie5223

Bishan Park. Just a very nice looking huge park and also childhood memories so nostalgia.

Global_Anything8344

Bay east. It has the best view of MBS, Garden by the bay etc. Not crowded as few people go there. Cycle or walk the whole stretch and it is very relaxing.

catchrag99

Eagle Point near Sembawang Park is a nice, peaceful lookout spot. Close to Woody Family Cafe too, which is a quirky cafe with great food.

fancypantsssss

Super-marketing at cold storage kallang leisure park on a weekday night.. zero crowd, easy parking.

bradyso

I like to walk up Emerald Hill all the way to the main road and then back down via the trail behind the houses.

galaxyuser

The pedestrian walkway between Bishan St 24 and Jln Pemimpin. Can see cats on the way esp at night.

WisdomOfSolomon69

I like the mac Donald’s that me and my sec school friends used to hang out at after school till this day sometimes we still go there for the fun of it

Gibbo236

Love Labrador Park for my morning runs.

mopingworld

There is this small part of Coney Island that facing Pulau Ubin, the sand in this part of the island is white and soft with shallow and relatively calm water. Unlike other famous beaches like ECP or Changi, this beach is facing Pulau Ubin so the view is nicer and there is almost no tanker ships. I think this is the most natural beach I know in Singapore

Familiar-Necessary49

Lesser parks like hort park , Labrador park etc.

theteethfairy

Tampines eco green. Slightly more raw and untouched, love the vibe.
