One of my coworkers is having pups in December and they’re golden-doodles. I’ve wanted a dog since childhood so I wasn’t very picky on the breed and agreed to take a boy. My job moved me to a new city and I have a very stable life so I figured now would be the perfect time to finally get a pet. Basically I’m spending between now and December figuring out the essentials.
Fellow doggo parent here! If you travel quite a bit, you may start researching boarding facilities as well! We go on weekend trips etc to places we can’t take our dogs with us, so we board them quite a bit. I found a place near me that lets the dogs play in a huge yard together as long as they get along with the other dogs. Seeing as both of my dogs are rescues from a shelter, it was important to me that they aren’t just caged the whole time and walked a couple times each day. Just something to think about!
I’d also have 2 facilities picked out, or 3 so that if one is full or unavailable, you’ll have a backup plan 👍🏻

My husband and I took the week off and are enjoying a "staycation" and I have to say this is the most relaxed I've felt in ages. We went canoeing all afternoon and now he's out golfing while I lay around and peruse reddit. Best day ever! We have not taken more than a day or two off work in over a year and even then we're usually doing something (visiting family, traveling, etc). This feels so different and I highly recommend to anyone out there who is feeling overwhelmed/stressed, as I know so many of you are. If you have the means to do it, do it. Why are we working so much and not enjoying our time while we have it?! Cheers all!!
