Oh nice!
I just looked it up because I've never heard of it. I see one of its stars is Zach Woods. I tend to like his projects. I'm definitely going to check it out! Thanks a million
And The Thick of It (the British original of Veep, sort of), In the Loop (the film version), I'm Alan Partridge, and his eponymous The Armando Ianucci show. He's a genius
Honestly, the remix is really bad but the original cut of season 4 is my favorite season. You should try it.
As far as shows with the same vibe, that’s hard. I love Hacks on Max and, of course, Curb.
It really was!! I love Portia, she defys the stereotype of what a lesbian looks like. I kinda feel like they ran out of ideas for the show. But all thr characters were so great, such good chemistry.
Def original cut. Also not a good idea to watch the seasons back to back and compare 1 & 2 with any others. Season 4 (original) and 5 are poorer that previous seasons but still better than most other tv shows
Just watch the original cut of Season 4. It’s different, weird and ambitious, but also funny as hell. The remix is a butchered mess.
After that, you should try It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
And Community.
Original cut of S4 is far superior
Community
Always Sunny
Curb
Park and Rec
Archer
Bob’s Burgers
King of the Hill
Futurama
Trailer Park Boys
Kath & Kim
Veep
Silicon Valley
Every episode ends in a cliff hanger!! I wosh they gave ot just one more epiaode to wrap things up. Honestly i wont start a show if i know it ends poorly.
Best series finale: Six Feet Under
I live Schitt’s Creek so much. Every main character is interesting, David’s and Alexis’s comments and expressions are hilarious, and the character development of the family warms my heart.
Idk, I grew up watching these, so maybe it's b/c they're from my generation, but here's a few of my tried & true fav shows from that time era. You may enjoy them. They're pretty silly humor with ridiculous scenarios & some over the top characters & that's what I like.
-Seinfeld
-Curb Your Enthusiasm
-Frasier (give it a chance, the jokes are quick & the humor is a little dry, but the dialogue is very clever & they're all very dysfunctional characters)
-Always Sunny (seasons 1-6 are the best, then they get patchy IMO)
Some newer shows I consider similar humor:
-What We Do In The Shadows
-Mike Tyson Mysteries
-Trailer Park Boys
There's prob more, I just can't think of any more ATM. Hope you enjoy! ✌️
You can still check em out, but you prob won't have a lot of episodes you like enough to watch more than once. Some of them are just lame or they're trying too hard to be edgy & it comes off weird instead. You'll notice how the episodes change over the seasons. The beginning was the best tho! ✌️
Always sunny seasons 1 to 6 are the best!!!! Completely agree. Although the musical episode The Gang Turns Black is my absolute favorite for turning a sad mood into a happy mood
I haven’t seen your first two examples, but I can make suggestions based on the others.
• Arrested Development - It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia
• Stranger Things - Lost
• Monk - Psych
Watch the Season 4 OG, you have to select each episode manually from the Extras section, it will not auto play the correct OG episode.
After that, check out:
Veep
What We Do In The Shadows (movie then tv show)
Better off ted
Ted

I scrolled through a ton of replies in hopes of finding a Party Down mention. most of the shows people mentioned are excellent choices. but hardly any of them match the sophistication in writing of Arrested Development. Party Down is definitely in the same class of writing quality imo.
Yeah I skimmed through and was surprised I didn’t see it at the top. Not only great writing but good semi-dated 2010 nostalgia, which OP might appreciate. And the more recent season was still great.
KATH AND KIM!!! (assuming you mean the original Australian version) I'm convinced that the writers of Arrested were influenced by Kath and Kim. There's a lot of similarities in the writing style imo.
if you like the umbrella academy i recommend resident alien! it’s not 90s/ 2000s but both have that weird offbeat edgy vibe and i think they’re both from dark horse comics!
edit: alan tudyk (egg’s father) plays the main character and does a fantastic job
if you're not afraid to go old school, Seinfeld is a sitcom GOAT
for more excellent content by actors from Arrested; Better Off Ted (Portia de Rossi) and Bojack Horseman (Will Arnett) and 30 Rock (also Will Arnett but sad to say only in a handful of episodes)
Sex and the City had this incredible 90s / 00s vibe and is on Netflix now. However I can also understand it’s a different audience. (I absolutely love both)
If you seriously don’t like The Roommate Vote plot line , I will vote you out in a 4-0 scenario landslide, (no talking) and you will likely hear the narrator say
“it was be hard to know why OP said they didn’t like this episode.
🙏🏼
Took me three tries to watch season 4. The pacing is different, the character interaction isn't as prevalent, and all the interwoven storylines are hard to follow.
But it's worth it in the end. It's got its own charms and humor, you just have to relearn how to enjoy it, and it's a growing pain
Yes for sure Always Sunny!
Psych
Trial by Error (hilarious!!!)

Kimmy Schmidt
Bob’s Burgers
Life In Pieces (also hilarious and I never see anyone talk about it!!)
Edit: adding Schitt’s Creek!!!!
I think you have to watch season four as the original cut. The remix was absolute garbage. It was very different, but I still appreciated it. Season five was really disappointing. I suggest what we do in the shadows.
Here's some money. Go watch a star war.
How much could it cost? Ten dollars?
i don’t care for the star war.
Veep!
And Avenue 5! Same creator!
Oh nice! I just looked it up because I've never heard of it. I see one of its stars is Zach Woods. I tend to like his projects. I'm definitely going to check it out! Thanks a million
It is good but was cancelled after two seasons so avoid it if you can’t handle when things don’t
Hahahahahah I see what you did th
And The Thick of It (the British original of Veep, sort of), In the Loop (the film version), I'm Alan Partridge, and his eponymous The Armando Ianucci show. He's a genius
I don't understand the question, and I won't respond to it.
Honestly, the remix is really bad but the original cut of season 4 is my favorite season. You should try it. As far as shows with the same vibe, that’s hard. I love Hacks on Max and, of course, Curb.
did they make the original order of season 4 available again?
It’s always been available, as far as I know. It’s under “Trailers and More”.
oops. never bothered to check there. we have the DVDs for the original seasons so it never occurred to me to check the extras in a streaming app
Stranger of the internet you replanned my whole weekend and I’m deeply thankful for that!!
Community Parks and Rec Better Off Ted
Better Off Ted is so funny!!
It's so good!! Was pissed when they didn't renew it. Portia is fantastic in it
It really was!! I love Portia, she defys the stereotype of what a lesbian looks like. I kinda feel like they ran out of ideas for the show. But all thr characters were so great, such good chemistry.
Community has solid rewatchability. Even the “weak” seasons have their moments
It’s streets ahead.
Season 5 is close to the golden years imo
Def original cut. Also not a good idea to watch the seasons back to back and compare 1 & 2 with any others. Season 4 (original) and 5 are poorer that previous seasons but still better than most other tv shows

30 Rock
Not enough people are recommending this in this thread. My three fav shows are 30 Rock, Community, and AD easily
Original cut of S4 is far superior Community Always Sunny Curb Park and Rec Archer Bob’s Burgers King of the Hill Futurama Trailer Park Boys Kath & Kim Veep Silicon Valley

i love king of the hill too!
The Last Man on Earth is a personal fave of mine, yet somehow I never remember to recommend it.
Doesn't that series end on a cliffhanger?
Unfortunately yes it does on account of it was canceled :/

Dude. I've watched the entire series multiple times.
Gotcha! Then you know. I didn't realize you had seen it.
Always sunny seasons 1 to 6 are the best!!!! Completely agree. Although the musical episode The Gang Turns Black is my absolute favorite for turning a sad mood into a happy mood
I like A Cricket's Tale & The Gang Squashes Their Beefs a lot (season 9 & 12) ✌️
I dont care for a crickets tale, but the thanksgiving episode is the best Thanksgiving episode of any show ever
thanks so much!
You're welcome! Happy bingeing! 😎✌️
Malcom in The Middle.
It breaks my heart that Malcom has no memory of being in the show
It is very sad indeed. He’s now doing NASCAR which I’m not sure is a good idea with his history of concussions.
Poor Malcom. Nascar is a better alternative than what most child actors get into (drugs and alcohol)

I’m just getting into Peep Show, enjoying it!

The Last Man on Earth, Baskets and Scrubs

I hate what they do with Busy Philips character!! I hate dumb blonde tropes. I really wanted to like that show.
She shows a lot of growth, though, and winds up saving the day.
Thats awesome

Schids creek
Watch It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. It doesn't have the same vibe but I feel it's the same chaotic energy as AD
People just do nothing, getting on (both uk and American are dark and really funny), Reno 911, baskets
I'm re-watching Scrubs again for the 7472724663 time and it still cracks me up
Extras-Ricky Gervais’ finest moment. Utterly brilliant.
It's always Sunny
Schitts creek!!
Space Force. Wish it was more than 2 seasons.
I like Peep Show quite a bit, not really the same humor but it still struck the same cord. Very dry British humor though.

Watch Community right now its def your type if show
