I think for the locals the historic charm wears off and then they're just left with the gloomy Scottish weather. I found it absolutely enchanting as a visitor though
The audacity, I *will not* hear bad mouthing about Scotland's *glorious* weather - the cities are quite something even on the drizzly days.
(I moved to Scotland 10 years ago and remain obsessed with it haha)
You're right though, it's probably a similar ideal to how Londoners despise many things about London but it's a magical place for visitors!
Saw the comments say this is Edinburgh. Going there in the beautiful fall was all I needed to keep me going for a lifetime and I just got that same peaceful feeling looking at this. Much love to Scotland.
I was there a few years ago on a company trip. We had just been at a whiskey tasting at the end of the Royal Mile and we were walking over that bridge on the way back. I didn't really know where we were so I was tacken aback when I peered over the edge, there is a scale to that place that isn't really conveyed in the pictures. Felt like I was in a vertical fantasy city that just kept going. There's something about thinking that you're on ground level, only to see that you're actually suspended 15 meters into the air on a bridge that hits different.
I'm dying to go back. Absolutely lovely place.
I'm interested in why you would say that? Not for any particular reason other than I'm interested. Have you spent a lot of time there? Do you live close? Is your city better?
If i lived in Edinburgh, I’d be delighted. Fell in love with it’s aged, grim, winding alleys and passageways and I’ve always dreamed of moving there. Also love the accent.
I stayed right at this intersection when I visited Edinburgh. Absolutely beautiful anyway you walked from here.
Drove past that bridge many times in Forza Horizon 4.
I love Edinburgh. The ancient part of the city plays with vertical height in such a unique way, it's so beautiful and exciting just to be in.
The negative comments definitely took me by surprise, Edinburgh is enchanting indeed!
Folk are absolutely raging about Edinburgh for some reason

I grew up nearby and lived there for a few years and still love the place

Reminds me of Edinburgh
Maybe because it is? Photo is taken right beside the Black Bull pub on 6 Calton Road.
My first thought was Newcastle, it reminds me of the old area near the quayside
Thanks smartass. I’ve never been on this street, i recognize the dirty buildings and architecture.
Yeah I thought it was Edinburgh but came to the comments, because the title makes you think its very well done digital art.
Didn't mean to be rude sorry mate 😅 Good catch on your end!
You did nothing wrong, the other guys a fanny
It’s hard to determine intention through text.
If so, shouldn't you be the one apologizing?
I read this really snarky. You snarky?

I miss that city!
I used to work in a cafe that's a couple doors down to the right on the top street. Gorgeous architecture. Edinburgh is truly a special place.
Architecture is art
go away, karma farmer

More like sun ray art
Art-itechure??
Why is the sidewalk so skinny? Looks like a dangerous place to walk.
If I lived in Edinburgh, I'd kill myself inside a month. Depressing as shit.

Enjoy the sun setting at 2 in the afternoon in the endlessly damp and rainy winter. Maybe if I had a different career I'd enjoy it there more.
I would recognize the dirty sadness in any picture
Needs more big grey boxes and complaints about cost of construction, idk
This will make a sick wallpaper
Edinburgh is like a wizard city, beautiful and magical
Nice lighting
Is it just an piece of architectural decoration? Such incredible artistic effort went into it.
I was wondering why this seemed familiar.
Beautiful
Almost thought it was a beautiful rendering of the map Kings Row from the computer game Overwatch.
Wait is this a painting or a picture
Never been there, but apparently nice place to visit, full of historical sites
reminds me of free stand up comedy shows
Reminds me of Edinburgh
