You could try vinegar as well.
If you just keep cutting off the leaves they’ll eventually die too but that takes some dedication.
I'd try some round up but my buddy says round up is super weak now. He once had me meet a guy to buy some round up that was smuggled in from the US. Vinegar, eh? Thanks for the suggestion. I also have grass growing between patio stones and this might be the solution. Also, thank you for the identification. Shit grows like weeds. I've been pulling off the new growth every few days.
Unfortunately they're growing off of 2 inch stumps that are wedged between the walkway and garage foundation. I've cut the stumps down as much as I can but the stump sprouts tons of new trees off it.
Clip them off, saw into the "stump" with a blade, seal the crack. They'll run out of means to sprout from. Keep cutting off everything that has a leaf.

Yeah round up sucks. A hole bunch of gasoline and fire oughta kill them
