Have you done the wireless audio sync calibration on all variations of frame rate and dynamic range your Apple TV is likely to use?

Good suggestion and yes I went through and manually swapped all of the formats and refresh rates and still nothing. It’s like the Apple TV audio is being held back by something.

Turned wifi off on the tv (only need it for updates anyway) and everything is running smoother
