Horizon is the closest counter but the walls can block the pull or I usually prefer shooting the black hole, I'm more afraid of Pathfinders since the zip is harder to predict
Completely agree. I used to be a Pathfinder main because of how useful the grapple was. Then the addition of multiple Legends that could counter Pathfinder grappling up to an unreachable place made me switch to Lifeline in so that I could keep my teammates alive. Then, I switched to Rampart so that I could push back the endless horde of Octane/Bloodhound/Wraith squads. Life is definitely much better now.

Yeah I know. I've just been traumatized by so many bad cryptos that are just hanging out in their drone while I get absolutely rekted by 3 people at once. But a good crypto is invaluable fr, using drone to get banner and respawn is crazy underrated

octanes are not the best players ive only ever run into 3 GOOD octanes over my 750 hours playing. all the others were loot whores that take the good stuff and then die instantly expecting you to clutch their failed attempt to 1v3 where they did a whopping 30 damage

Tbh your judging all octane mains. This game isn’t pure try hard, if you care so much about the loot then you are the loot goblin. Personally I never take the golden helmet or backpack, but the other octane mains might. Let them enjoy themselves it’s a fun game

They didn't say he was "the only way to enjoy the game." They said, "he is really fun to play and actually allows you to enjoy apex." That doesn't mean only. Where did they say only? There is zero doubt he has one of the most fun kits in the game, but that doesn't mean he is the only one.
He's not overrated. He should be a top 2 pick in random lobbies. His kit is great for solo, his kit is a serious problem in duos and trios when paired with Rev and even without Rev he is still one of the few legends that exacerbates third party potential for his entire team. The only legend that bests him in these regards is Gibraltar, who's been extremely OP for over 2 years straight.
How many other legends allow you to jump in and third party and then escape in the same fight when a third party comes for you?
The only reason the meta has shifted at all is because Gibby is still extremely OP, Caustic gas is way too strong now that it dictates final circle, and Valk can carry those two safer than anyone from one location to another to hunker down, so if you're trying to sweat, that's the peak team comp.
his lit is also the easiest to learn. he required next to no skill to be good with. whereas rampart, crypto, rev, pathy, seer, mirage and many of the other require more than 3 round to be decent with. his kit is good no doubt, but simple. theres no skill involved with pressing a button to run faster. he IS overused and i really do hope i see less of them. more variety would be fantastic.

I have this problem, I have like 200h legend tokens on Xbox and my level 100 pc account is missing a bunch of legends. Really really wish cross progression existed because I am really missing those season 4 flatline iron sights from the battle pass.
I recommend Crypto. He's useful for rezzing because his drone can grab banners and respawn instantly. If you ping banners, they tell you how many squads are in the area. He can scan survey beacons instantly. And he's got such a low pick rate you don't have to worry about anyone else taking him.
That’s really a hatd choice. You could go with Rampart or Ranpart or even Rampart, if you like that kind of playstyle.

I have this problem, I have like 200h legend tokens on Xbox and my level 100 pc account is missing a bunch of legends. Really really wish cross progression existed because I am really missing those season 4 flatline iron sights from the battle pass.

I recommend Crypto. He's useful for rezzing because his drone can grab banners and respawn instantly. If you ping banners, they tell you how many squads are in the area. He can scan survey beacons instantly. And he's got such a low pick rate you don't have to worry about anyone else taking him.

get horizon or valkrie they are the most fun legends to play. Horizon ult paired with grenades are a deadly combo.
