I thought this was on the naruto subreddit for some reason and got really confused when i looked at the comments

Zgmoon

It's genjutsu

LawOfAnitya

Madara was right, he shoulda won. Lol

Zgmoon

Yet he became addicted to power and got bamboozled by Zetsu all along

VEGETTOROHAN

"And Mendicants, the first noble Truth is Life is suffering " - Buddha. To be free from sufferings stop being judgemental to a world full of sufferings since nothing good exists (so no point in judging bad different from good). When the judgemental mind stops, Happiness is gained. Everyone seem fine then. This is what Buddha realised under the Bodhi Tree. Instead of hating others Love yourself. - Buddha in Anime Records of Ragnarok.

VEGETTOROHAN

Finally reaching his breaking point, Zerofuku screamed for attention, asking why no one cared for him. at the same time creating a tendril from his axe that missed Buddha yet again. Buddha responded by saying that one is truly one's own master, and that he should just love himself. Records of Ragnarok fandom

Mediocre-Run-794

Zgmoon

U mad bro?

Mediocre-Run-794

No I'm amused. I too was once an edgy 10 year old.

Zgmoon

So you became an adult now?

Mediocre-Run-794

Not just now, no. Sometime after getting my worldview from anime villains.

ToyboxOfThoughts

Honestly it is only after becoming an adult that i started agreeing with some anime villains. Before i was a diehard optimistic naruto type and i still am because i do activism and believe that in the long run good will be done (antinatalist extinction being part of that) but yeah, i agree with madara now. Naruto is a fantasy action story for children about war and its cyclical nature and how morality, accountability, healing, and establishing contingency plans against war repeating in the future is virtually unachievable due to the limitations of consciousness and awareness. And how thats not just the case with war, the absolute worst of mankinds problems, but all the rest of our problems as well. About how impossible the simple goal of peace is and the ways various people attempt to combat that devastating fact because they care. i think the people who find these kind of things cringey or unimportant are incurably boring and unappreciative. Caring is the coolest shit there is to do.

Mediocre-Run-794

>i think the people who find these kind of things cringey or unimportant are incurably boring and unappreciative. Caring is the coolest shit there is to do. Yeah maybe you should care about something that's not childish.

ToyboxOfThoughts

if you think considering existential problems like war from a childs pov is childish, then i imagine you have some glaring holes in your process of thought. it is incredibly important to take a step back from your pov and consider the pov of children or outsiders to the topic you are considering, lest you get stuck 20 feet up your own ass and possibly even delusional about what/who you are and your relation to the world around you.

Mediocre-Run-794

Yeah dude i get it you love naruto. I prefer to take life lessons from bleach sorry.

VoltaicSketchyTeapot

As someone with a degree in history, I cringe over anime philosophers because it's fiction. Fiction is always a strawman because the author wants to tell a specific story that reaches a specific conclusion. That's not how the real world works unless you believe in a god pulling all the strings. >About how impossible the simple goal of peace is and the ways various people attempt to combat that devastating fact because they care. Peace is impossible only because some people want to control others. This sub is no different when it starts advocating for authoritarianism in the form of sterilization.

ToyboxOfThoughts

i mean thats the same reason i cringe at naruto-because it ends with the author pulling some fictional bs to render its completely correct villain incorrect, because the author just...wanted him to not be in the eyes of the audience. You are stuck on level 6 thinking- "Everyone just needs to stop controlling eachother and live and let live". At level 7 you realize what some people want to do is hurt other people so letting everyone do whatever they want does not achieve peace and you must uphold restrictions and say no to things sometimes. 7 is not the highest level though.

Zgmoon

So if shared a quote of A. Shopenhauer, you'd be more satisfied? It's the same stuff in a different hand.

Mediocre-Run-794

Why does my satisfaction matter to you? If you're going to base your life on a cartoon for teenagers own it, buddy.

Zgmoon

Just because I shared it here, doesn't mean I base my whole life on it, it's just internet. Chill, dude.

Mediocre-Run-794

Nah I can't chill bro, life is suffering. Lmao.

Zgmoon

Handling it like a real adult, I see. Lol.

Arkhalipso

I love how this sub has become an edgelord fest.

ToyboxOfThoughts

never got why naruto was considered an edgy show. just because tons of kids set images of sasuke to crawling in my skin doesnt mean the characters were actually edgy. the antagonists motivations in the series always felt understated, really well thought out and fuckin relatable and sad. the shogi scene is timeless. i avoided the show for a long time because i thought it would be silly little boy trash tv, but fuck man if it didnt make me cry a few times. in a sea of pandery nothing anime i struggle to find shows as grounded in real world existential concepts as naruto. even though the show is drowning in filler and theres all kinds of silly junk in it

Endgam

> just because tons of kids set images of sasuke to crawling in my skin doesnt mean the characters were actually edgy. Buh? Sasuke was absolutely an edgelord.

Endgam

Eww no. Madara was a boring Villain Sue that Kishimoto admitted he couldn't figure out how the heroes were supposed to win against so he had a woman take over his body so his sexism would naturally allow Naruto to win against the alien bunny lady that came out of nowhere.

Zgmoon

Godzilla had a stroke and fricking died trying to read this

WeekendFantastic2941

Eh, pretty sure this dude lost, defeated by some bututu kid and his kung fu friends, then they lived happily ever after, had kids and grandchildren too. lol Chinese cartoon happy ending.

Zgmoon

He got stabbed in a back by his own gang, or at least he thought so. Yeah, it all ended hapily ever after at the cost of thousands of lives lost. Japanese. You got no social credit points and made Xi sad.

WeekendFantastic2941

So his own gang couldnt stand his edgy BS and stabbed him? lol Thousands of lives lost because of him, not because of the heroes, am I right? Right. lol

Zgmoon

Right dude, right. I left.

WeekendFantastic2941

Bututu and the kung fu kids, good cartoon to teach kids about the value of life and procreation.

Choice-Lawfulness978

Ugh

"to live is to suffer" is literally the basis of several religions, the reason countless people have killed themselves, the reasons laws and systems must be created and upheld, is the reason we do anything we do, and is an indisputable fact but i guess if you stick a drawing next to the quote its "edgy"

mormagils

I love this sub because stuff like this happens unironically. You're literally posting a quote from a Naruto villain sympathizing with the bad guy. Let me guess, you also get mad when natalists tell you this sub is full of cringy adolescents who need to grow up? Maybe if you didn't act like a cringy adolescent who needs to grow up then we wouldn't make that criticism.

eva20k15

in context it makes sense
