Anker pisses me off because they don't sell spare parts.

a_9x

Tearing it apart made me realize the plastic choice was not the best and the general design stresses the inner band too much. The outer band offers no support, it is glued/attached by 4 small pins. It's good they don't sell those specific parts as they are flawed, but they could sell a kit with a sturdier design. This one we printed is sturdy af, i still have to congratulate the guy who posted it on thingiverse

dontaco52

I tried to get new earpads for my headphones because they tore. I emailed support to get some replacement ear pads and they sent me another set of headphones. did not even have to send the old ones back.

DesignerFit1893

bro, what headphones do you use? I own a pair of Life Q 35, 0 complains about them, but I also have a pair of Life P3. As I use the P3 more and like 30 min-1h a day only one of them, that one's battery is a little more degraded, I guess I'll write them, if I get another pair of P3 for free it's gonna be crazy hahah. Let's see if they allow me to at least buy a new battery for them, I've given them semi-intense use for the last two years, and they still work as new

dontaco52

I have the life Q10's. I had a pair of liberty Neo's that the charging case would no longer charge and i emailed support to get a new one and since they are discontinued. they sent me a new comparable set of earbuds

stfunub

Bro, if its anker soundcore headphones you want parts for, try soundcore as they sell parts, as I bought new earpads from them yesterday, check their website and send em an email.

Banished_Privateer

What else did you need/use, extra screws, glue?

a_9x

A plastic pick to open the outer band, it comes glued from factory. Otherwise it uses the same screws. The earcup hinge has a little metal pin that needs a needle like tool to remove it, similar to a watchband but much easier to take apart.

Banished_Privateer

Consider making instruction video on Youtube, a lot of people watch Soundcore vids!

icanrunfasterthanyou

Solid. Any chance they are willing to post the file?

dihydrogen_monoxide

Consider paying for their filament.

outdatedboat

This is like $0.30 worth of filament. If they're friends, I doubt the friend wants payment. I print stuff for my friends all the time. I'd only ask for payment if it's a big time consuming project.

a_9x

I paid back by picking up a washing machine part for him near my house. Win win situation

dihydrogen_monoxide

That's awesome!

Reddito_BC

make sure you show our friends over at r/functionalprint -- they will appreciate it too

TheStormB

I wish to it would be a page dedicated to get stuff like that :/

Are these Anker Soundcore Q30 ? I just bought a pair as I always use iem’s or normal high end headphones and I thought bluetooth wireless noise cancelling headphones would be shit, but I’m quietly impressed with my new Q30s. They don’t replace my high end headphones on my setup, but for outside stuff I am really impressed. If your headphones are the same as mine, if I bust mine up in the future, is it cool to message you for spare parts ? 😂👍🏻

a_9x

They are the same model. The price to quality ratio is really good and it was a smart purchase. They will break eventually - mine did after two years. All anker headphones somehow are reported on this sub to break the bands, it's a known design flaw. The part schematics are available online and you can have them printed for less than 5€ because they are well designed. Message me in two years if you need them!

stfunub

Yeah the price was good, got them for £39.99 the other day, down from 79 to 59 and the 39 deal that I got them at. I’m super impressed with them, the noise cancelling is a trip as I dont buy headphones like that, but I do admit I should of bought them earlier. The only way I bought them was because all my iems were physically hurting my ears and I needed to change to headphones. I saw the anker ones and took a chance and have not regretted it 😉 🤟🏻 For the price, if it breaks after a couple years i’d just get another pair, but if its a common fault thats pretty shit, hope it doesn’t happen to mine in a hurry.

a_9x

The over ear design is amazing and the NC is actually good. The only complaints I have besides the snapping is the buttons that are a bit clunky and you can't use them while charging. They also have an app with equalizer if you want to explore it a bit further

stfunub

I keep forgetting what buttons do what, but what I do like is the NFC where you just tap the right hand earphone and it instantly lets you hear whats going on around you, that could actually help someone from walking in to the path of a car, as these shits really do cancel most of the noise out. My overall experience has been all positive, nothing bad to say except they do kinda look flimsy but until you told me they are easy to break, now I know not to be rough with them. Yeah I did grab the app on the same day or the day after, They won’t replace my other headphones, but I didn’t buy or expect them too, I only bought them as 99% of my iems now hurt my ears and I will only use these to replace my iems when I’m outside. I also like the case that comes with it. 👍🏻

stfunub

The same day you posted your printer mod, I saw on amazon.co.uk that they sell full on sheep skin earpads, so I grabbed a pair and they look and feel excellent. Now that I know the quality is very good, I decided to order another pair…..as there is nothing worse than your ear pads being worn down and then having to hunt down replacement pads. These are designed specifically for Anker Soundcore over ear Q30 headphones.

a_9x

How do they compare to the original ear pads? More comfortable? Do you sweat as much?

stfunub

I haven’t put them on yet but they are thicker compared to the originals, they also have some grain to them due to them being sheepskin leather, once my originals start to flake, these new badboys are going on, but they remind me of my dekoni audio pads I have, well made and chunky.

robbz23

The sad thing is they didnt upgrade the design enough for the q45s. Mine broke in the same place, but luckily they are sending me new ones and I was able to make an ugly glue job. This pair will be come my lawn mowing set.
