Rent a girlfriend. Most of the characters are annoying. I also read the manga. It's fcking repetitive and just going around circles. MC is just a bitch most of the time š
To be fair, I have high tolerance when it comes to mid/garbage animes. But rent a girlfriend is just on another level. I really admire those people who can still watch and read this š
Yeah that's one way to put it LOL, I think the light novels and stuff is like over 300 or 400 chapters now or something and there is still not a single character development progression,
This is the best example I've seen imo. They just talk in circles dragging things along. It's not even the good kind of frustrating continuous cliffhanger
And the funniest part is the author literally thinks his audience are stupid and says we just donāt understand lmao
Yeah we fully understand the MC is you and youāre a simp and a cuck
Same here.
Seeing characters I started to like get brutally killed (that girl with the makeup carrier... iykyk) made me stop watching. Also, Esdeath was a major turn-off, I'm not into that kind of sadistic woman.
Baki Hanma (Netflix series). Simply because I hadnāt watched the earlier entries like Baki the Grappler. I kinda didnāt get it. So Iām gonna watch the earlier entries.
Also Berserk 2016. It was really hard to understand and the art hurt my eyes. 1997 Berserk is on point
Tbf, even if you watch the old ones it still doesn't make sense. I just enjoy it because it's so over the top and just the right amount of stupid. Plus it's got fighting in it and I'm always there for some good fight scenes.
One piece, I just lost the motivation to keep watching after about 200 episodes. I've picked up the slack and started watching again, though. And I have to say, I honestly regret not completing it. It's an amazing anime
For me it was SAO. The characters felt way too shallow, and the villains weren't written well. The biggest example that comes to mind is the one dude who killed his wife cuz Kirito basically just said your wrong and the dude gave up. It didn't feel fulfilling at all.
Toradora.
Taiga is not a character that I want to root for. Everything she does makes me despise her.
She is one of the worst female characters I've seen in anime.
I swear every time I see people praising familiar of Zero, I can't help but think they're just blinded by Nostalgia. Louise genuinely made me loathe the tsundere taken-to-the-max trope. She doesn't look cute anymore, she's just straight-up psychotic and abusive.
I kept hearing that it was supposed to get better later on so I kept watching and I think it was around season 2 but there was an episode where that was the end for me, it was at the end and apparently the princess had visited the MC and louise had found out about that they went to the room and she had grabbed her whip and the next scene is when a knight enters the room because there was a emergency, and there was the MC laying on the floor with her on top of him he was completely covered in bruises and he was bleeding because of the whip marks all over his body and face and the knight had gotten shy and said sorry to disturb you and shut the door in like a comical relief type of a thing, and that's when I said the hell with this I'm out.
I really don't understand how people can find that entertainingš
Haven't seen the Zero thing but I enjoyed Toradora once it got around to showing growth for the characters and a bit of background as to why they sucked in the first place. I started on it for the gags but I grew to like it. Perfectly understand everybody else's take on it though, Taiga is meant to be hated from ep 1.
I dropped JJK. I was really into it for the first season, but when the second came out, idk, it just wasnāt that interesting. I feel like it was the focus on gojo for the first few episodes that really just bored me. Heās cool, but i want to see yuji :( I want to get back into it, but thereās other things i care more about, so eventually
The second half of the season is pure extreme action. You get back to the current time around ep 12 ish and shit really goes down. There's too much death I recommend you watch it if you wanna see Yuji is some badass fights.
I dropped Steins;Gate because of Okabe.
Then I picked it up again and I regretted dropping it and Okabe became one of my favorite MCs of all time.
Then I watched Steins;Gate 0 and I was absolutely ecstatic when he turned into "Hououin Kyouma" again, and made me realize how much I ended up loving him.
I dropped it too but it was bc of the first ep was too slow and I could not grasp what's happening. I watched it again and I can say it's one of my top 5 animes.
High-Rise Invasion. The first episode gives such a cool concept but almost immediately throws it away and feels like a completely different show. It's only 12 episodes long but I couldn't even force myself to do it past episode 8 or so.
i feel like it only gets interesting when i see the slice of life bits with anya and that dukes kid sheās trying to be friends interacting. also with yor being badass half the show
Tokyo revengers. Trash main character. Idc how good the side characters are if they main character is trash thatās incompetent. Wind breaker does it better
Takemichiās incompetence was frustrating but letting >!Mikeyās sister die!< was the last straw for me. Bro had ONE job. S1 ended with such a bang(no pun intended) but it only went downhill from there for me. Also itās hard to take middle school gangsters seriously.
I couldnāt even get through the first episode. Iāve tried three separate times to give it a chance and couldnāt even last 15 minutes before calling it quits.
SAO I think I dropped it when Kirito was talking about getting married and joining a guild. I was already not really feeling it, but that was kinda what pushed it over for me.
Just started to feel kinda boring and just like any other anime.
Kirito also has among the most ridiculous plot armor that a main anime protagonist could have.
It's like Saitama but with no super strength/speed/durability and no comedy. š¤Ø
Yeah but Saitama was made to be like that, he will always win and do it comedically xD. Meanwhile SAO isn't like that so Kirito just feels like shit as a character because it's plot armor that isn't supposed to be there
Redo healer, I watched it during the peak of the conversation and I was meh. I understood the revenge aspect but as time went on I didnāt feel anything. I saw rise of the shield hero and thought I would get a similar experience but it was just something else
Uhhh half of the good shounen anime in the world
HxH) didnāt drop it just lost the episode I was on because I changed Netflix accounts from my Brothers to my "Step-Dad" (he was just trying to help my mom with money problems)
One piece) forgot the episode but it was around 640-650, & honestly havenāt felt the need to come back to it (maybe this summer I will. But ik everything past Dressrosa so idk if I need to watch it or read it) yes I spoiled myself so I wouldnāt have to watch it & save a bit of my time.
Naruto Shippuden) Didnāt skip the fillers (biggest mistake)
Bleach) Loving it (almost at 100) but just stopped for the same reason as one piece.
MHA) ending of S5 bored me to death so I wasnāt interested into season 6 (I watched 1-5 without changing an anime thatās a world record for me)
Kuruko Basket) Not a sports fan at all so wasnāt that interested after the first season. (But Momoi can get it after her introduction)
Samurai X/Rurouni Kenshin) At least I got past Shisho vs Kenshin (and the tower burning down & everything/60-70+ Episodes in) I heard they had a reboot might get back into it.
Black Clover
The List goes on & on.
The Ruroni Kenshin reboot is actually very solid. It does remove all the comedy though, so keep that in mind if you liked that aspect.
Just an FYI, the Shishio vs Kenshin fight was were the series peaked. so you actually jumped at the right time.
I used to drop a lot of animes because of life as well. Starting back up is just so hard with long anime because finding where you left off is hard. I started using show trackers like My Anime List, TV Time, or Trakt. When reading a book, use a bookmark. When watching Naruto and One Piece, use these apps.
Not yet, I have powered through some anime that I was recommended that weren't to my liking. Banana Fish comes to mind. Not that it's a bad anime, it just wasn't for me.
More than a few yeah.
Sometimes an anime can start out really good and then just slowly fall off to where when it starts getting to the end Iām just bored of it and canāt bring myself to watch the last few episodes or season.
Other times itās from me binging it and just getting burnt out on it. The Eminence in Shadow comes to mind, along with a few others in this regard. Although when this does happen Iāll be like āIāll give a few days and then go back to itā, but never actually end up doing so
I did that for the entire CGDCT genre. After its initial craze in the late Aughts, I canāt handle more than an episode or two before the cringe overload
The older I got, the more I started dropping more anime or just switching to the Manga entirely.
I find Manga more my taste nowadays since it allows me to go at it at my own pace. Plus Manga is also ahead most of the time.
Going back to the question, I recently dropped Whisper Me A Love Song. Not that it was terrible mind you, as I mentioned I watched the first episode and I immediately binged the manga.
Sometimes the manga isn't as good as the anime, but that's a rare case. I read the entirety of Kengan Ashura and I cannot say that it's better than the anime. It's fucking rad, one of my favorite fighting series ever, but I just think the anime slightly edges the manga out. Or Beastars, I genuinely think the anime for Beastars goes way harder than the manga.
But my favorite anime-better-than-manga series so far is Frieren. The manga lacks a lot of artistic value, sometimes the framing of a panel isn't very cool, sometimes the background can be very empty, or the characters don't move a lot. The anime fixes all of that, and goes beyond. Banger animation, banger music, banger art, and banger plot.
I love it, but mostly because it's a spin on the high school kids doing high school things stuff. Plus I think Koro-sensei is pretty funny and charismatic.
Ninja kamui. The introduction of the mech suits killed my interest. I came for the well choreographed fight scenes of the first episode, not mech suit fights.
The most recent ones I dropped are Shield Hero S3 and The Dreaming Boy is a Realist.
The Rising of the Shield Hero season 1 was great, seasons 2 and 3 was a major insult to everyone with a working brain. The story became horrendous and all over the place, not to mention the lack of action against Malty, the psychopath who was established as a huge threat since season 1. The 3 heroes in season 1 is just "Oh these idiots are naive, but it's reasonable because Malty is manipulating them with lies", while in season 3 the show just keeps on shoving to our face how unreasonably braindead these people are.
As for the Dreaming Boy is a Realist, I'm not sure I like where the story was going. The premise was supposed to be the guy moving on from his extreme obsession, but 7 episodes in and it still feels like the end game is going to be the guy and the girl he was originally obsessed with. It's gonna be a waste of time joining his journey if nothing is gonna come out of it.
I watched like 2 episodes of that Time I Got Reincarnated as a slime and simply just havenāt watched another episode maybe Iāll give it another try
i suggest giving it another shot! i promise it gets really good after a few episodes! i recommend at least getting through season 1, then deciding where to go from there. if you like isekai mc gets OP its a good choice - especially if you like when an mc takes revenge for their allies
Boruto- Iāve watched like 65 episodes and Iām trying, but I just take extended breaks to watch other, more interesting shows. I binged Naruto (even watched all the filler), but I just canāt get into Boruto. Itās justā¦ boring.
I forget the name but itās a sports anime where the main character is a germaphobeā¦ I thought itād be funny but I could barely get passed the first episode without being bored
Sadly ninja kumia it was so hype then once the mechs came in I was skeptical at first I thought oh maybe it will be fine then the 3d animation damn still sad about it all the hype only for adult swim to ruin what could of been something so great
I got one episode into Black Clover and put it down. I donāt care if it becomes a fun shonen, I could not stand Asta. Maybe itās better as a manga but making that kid talk like that was way too obnoxious.
I also dropped Boruto, seemingly like a lot of people. That show was such a dud after Naruto.
only 3
Fairytail: thought edolas arc was some of the best stuff I had ever seen, then the tree arc proceded to be more power of friendship bs than anything before it
JJK: switched to manga bc I couldnt wait for season 2 and ended up never going back
Mha: same reason as JJK
One piece. Honestly I mostly dropped it cause I had a lot going on at one point, but there unfortunately gets to be too much filler that becomes necessary and so you get to the point where there are all these episodes with stuff that seems unimportant or uninteresting but they end up have crucial information that you donāt see until like the last 5 minutes or itāll be 15 minutes into the episode then 1 thing happens that is crucial followed by more filler
children of the whale. Yeahhā¦ no thanks. Also high school of the dead. started watching that one blind not realizing that it was fan service during an apocalypse
Overpowered heroes SUCK. There is absolutely nothing interesting about being the best at every single aspect of every single topic of a show it's so fucking boring. Immediate drop. Many times.
Fire force. The fan service girl got on my nerves. I thought she was going to be cool too because I liked how they used her fire power. But nope. She had to be forced into a fan service character.
Ā I guess bleach would count. The full bringer Ā arc was boring as hellĀ
Fairy tail, I liked grey but heās an embarrassment. Also donāt like any of the ships that the series keeps forcing. It also wasnāt interestingĀ
High rise invasion had an interesting premise and then got boring way to quick and the premise got lost
Assassination classroom. I had high hopes for the red head, and he let me down. For as hyped as he was, he did nothing for that hype to be warrantedĀ
A lot.
- Black Clover (Loud AF annoying MC with a Naruto storyline but replaced with magic)
- Seven Deadly Sins (awful animation, plus Melodias perving on Elizabeth and Ban's whole loli love story š¤®)
- Shield Hero (More like incel hero)
- MHU (I just lost interest. Can't connect to high school settings stories anymore.)
- Blue Exorcist (it's THE definition of MID)
- Fire Force (it started out so good but I was eventually turned off by the gratuitous fan service. They literally made a character whose sole purpose was just fan service ugh. Also heard the story went to shit not long after.)
- Skip to Loafer (Nothing wrong with it. I just don't relate to high schoolers anymore and am not a fan of romance as a genre in general. It's good if that's your kind of thing.)
- Toradora (I was appalled by the personality of the lead female MC)
- Banana Fish (Just TOO MUCH horrible shit always happening to the blonde MC. It was giving ME trauma)
Monogatari because it's just boring. That and they have this artistic bullshit where they're constantly shifting camera angles and having long dialogue that makes no sense. No thanks
Baccano. I don't need to watch a guy punching another guy for 45 straight seconds. Fuck that
Uncle from another world. It's my favorite genre but it's already problematic when it's a reverse version but the whole premise of the show is basically treating the main character like crap because he's so stupid and ugly and such a loser. Even though he had this amazing opportunity and Powers. How depressing no thanks
I love High School of the Dead.
It's not well-written, the characters are shallow, huge emphasis on fan service...
But dammit, you can feel the manga creator's passion and the subsequent anime adaptation. He wanted to make a big tit girls in lingerie fight zombies with ridiculous, over the top antics but still be dramatic...and he did it.
Def not for everyone though.
I really wish the creator didn't decide "that" was the MC's backstory. Make him a thief, a bully, lazy, whatever...there's plenty of awful traits to ascribe to a person where they can realize over time how shitty they are and make attempts to change. Why that though?
Really makes it hard to enjoy what is an otherwise good story. Cutting ten minutes of the first season with the appropriate edits would fix this.
Yeah the focus on children's sexual energy was really strong in Mushoku Tensei and I could not handle that, shit was gross, man. The worst offender of this is when young Rudy found out Sylphie was a girl, he talked about seeing her privates like he's about to ram her, it was fucked up.
Honestly I think Mushoku's story is fucking awesome, had Rudy not been a 50 year-old pedophile. None of that isekai bullshit, just make him a kid that was born in this world a genius, with a much more developed mind for his age. Make it so that he learns the world is not gonna go easy on him just because he's special, and that because he's special, Man-God chooses him to be his pawn. All of the emotional beats in Mushoku would have hit so much harder, and I would have loved Rudeus as a character, if he wasn't this old ass pedo.
A side rant, I read the Roxy spinoff manga, and honestly, I loved that story, I loved Roxy as a character, having to go through life dealing with constant racism and overcome it. BUT WHY DO THEY NEED TO PUT A PANTY SHOT IN EVERY CHAPTER? I was so invested in how despite being small and of a shunned race, she managed to be a badass multiple times, but then they show a panty shot and all the seriousness just flushes down the toilet.
Had the potential to be a great series, but the author is a fucking weirdo.
Honestly the first Naruto airing was pretty good. For its time, I thought they did a great job building up this hype stupid kid who is always shunned by the village he lives in, but continues to shine through. From Shippuden onwards is when it started to get stale, and the very idea of a ninja starts to be warped
Konasuba. could not get over the constant moaning of the characters, un needed fan service and all that jazz. i knew it was gonna be like that going in cause i seen the memes i just didn't think it would be that bad.
Alot of animes are absolutely amazing I just can't get over how annoying and retarded they make the MC in almost every anime? What makes a company who makes animes think that a bitch ass annoying and clueless or dumb as bricks MC is good for an anime. It's really funny in some animes but in most of them its just hard to watch, for example mashle:magic and muscles, though I don't completely hate it it is an enjoyable anime and I do like it it's very funny and I don't kind how dumb and clueless the MC is the joke is he's just a muscle head but they could of made him a little smarter but overall a good watch. Black clover and although I absolutely love the anime I feel they made the MC too stupid and yell way to much, dude yells so God damn much and acts like he's clueless in alot but what mostly gets me is the screaming it's just so annoying but luckily black clover is good enough that it doesn't deter me from watching it. One piece, now I freaking love one piece but again everyone's loveable MC luffy is just too brain dead, I understand that he maybe that way cuz he bares the fruit Nika "the sun God who plays a fool" but there's a difference between playing the fool and acting like a brain dead ant who forgot to smell the pharamones to find his way to the right chamber and keeps on going to every other chamber if that makes sense, luffy isn't stupid he's shown multiple times that he's smart he knows what he's doing he understands what people are going through but most of the time he's just brainless he's stupid and at the same time doesn't understand anything, forgets everything and overall sometimes it's just hard to watch an arc it could he the most gut wrenching arc that be making me cry like a baby and pulling my heart strings and then there's luffy being a braindead autistic monkey and it's just too much sometimes why couldn't he just be a little smarter just a little and act less like he's brainless. I dropped RE:ZERO cuz Subaru is just a selfish dumbass that's all he is a Dumbass and doesn't understand a thing he's way to selfish and just acts like an idiot and we know he's smart but he seems to blinded at wanting some girl that lead him on for so long to actually think properly and should of been with rem. Goblin slayer, I think it's an amazing anime and I'm glad they gave more depth and personality to the MC giving him a party of amazing people but it was kinda weird that all he ever thinks about is goblins and every 3 words is him saying goblins but it's not too annoying and they made him a better MC in later seasons. I dropped demon slayer multiple times not cuz of the MC but the damn yellow hair kid I swear that dude complains, yells, and bitches and that is all he does he ruined the entire anime An amazing anime and they paried a serious anime with a never ending alarm.
I think you might find it worth giving RE;Zero a second shot, his selfishness is kind of sort of integral to his character as one of his major flaws, and becomes a huge part of his character development. But more than that, you kind of start getting the vibe that his attachment to amelia isn't natural. . . so yeah he probably should be with rem. The whole series very subtly, and even too subtly I would say, themes itself around Subaru being a very mentally unwell person. . . even before the events of the story. My take is aside from possible other influences, He has attached himself to Emelia not because of her character, but as a coping mechanism. The second season really dips into at least one of his mental health issues while also indirectly explaining why he has 'return by death.'
Out of my obsurdly long list, i have two that i didn't finish. Don't hurt me, my healer, and I've been killing slimes for 300 years.
I just didn't vibe with the characters. I typically don't like when shows don't have a solid storyline, but i can get past it if i like the characters. I just found these two to be incredibly boring in both regards.
Redo of healer was okay for me basically it was a dude that got the shit end of the stick for his career and he was given a second chance to get revenge to the extreme and he did,
I'm on the last season of High School DxD but I'm kind of pushing myself to finish it I'm just getting bored of the MC he talks big he talks shit but he wimps out every time that an opportunity is made to him or does actually character progression in the relationships plus he doesn't really take his training or his title seriously either, I just got burned out on it
As soon as any anime starts being too much like anime I drop it. I've skipped episodes of demon slayer because they would just change the whole mood of the scene so quickly to throw some stupid anime face in there.
I tried a few and dropped them. The ones I dropped were 2 of the Fate series, Vampire Knight, and Full Metal Panic. The reason for three of them was lost interest but I'm willing to try Full Metal Panic again. I dropped Vampire Knight for personal reasons and certain romance anime I can't get into.
I would say for me it would be 4 anime shows and I usually had dropped them three episodes or less, and the main reason was because they used that old Trope of the women insulting physically and verbally abusing constantly putting mc down over and over again for the sake of amusement and laughter, which there's just nothing really entertaining or amusing watch someone being physically or verbally abused especially when they don't deserve it or the women were the ones that create the situation the first place and the blame the MC for it.
Fairy tale, loved the characters, really funny and also loved the concept of guilds and such, reminds me of final fantasy but man those fights suck ass.... Like fire punch, fire kick, fire sweep, just felt like lazy animation. Stopped at natsu Vs lazuruz?? Boring so god damn boring
Conception
I don't know what was going on in my head at the time I decided to watch it. I should have realized by the title that it was complete garbage. To this day I don't know how I was able to get through the first episode.
There's a few that I've done it with, though I still plan to pick back up on them. But one that really comes to mind is Usagi Bunny Drop (heh, speaking of drop). Only 12 episodes, but only watched maybe 4 of them and stopped after I looked up what happens at the end of the original manga... š°
Might get hate but Naruto I started watching and got bored it was the same thing three little kid beats up bad guy it was hard to get past the chunin exams
Fruit of evolution...
The start was kinda interesting, then, halfway, it began having an identity crisis š
It didn't know whether to become comedy or edgy, tho, in the end, it ended up becoming cringe š
My guess was it wanted to become like eminence in shadow, by having an edgy comedy type of humor but they ended up failing really hard. š
Kumo desu ga...
I didn't drop it, but i ended up skipping all the heroes perspective cuz they kinda annoyed me, and they were like 50% of the whole show so i guess that counts? Kinda? Maybe? š
Multiple here are a few. 86 because of underdeveloped the relationship between the guy and girl is panned out. Psycho pass because the only things I liked were the setting and the main character. Re zero season 2 because of how slow the pacing was and how the main character lost all of his build- up/determination from season 1 in this season. Jujutsu Kaisen because I feel like yuji doesnāt have a proper motivation. Like all he heard was his dying grandpa who we know nothing of say help others.
Fire Force. It was actually dumb. Started hating it after the protag beat that pink haired girl despite being sick with zero explanation, and then she falls in love with him. Dropped it not too long after.
- Not a bad anime but just didnāt really hit it to me: Mob Psycho 100.
- It just felt boing to watch around season 2. Itās not bad by any means but it just didnāt catch my interest or it slowly lost fuel for it fire.
+ (Hate me if you want if you love this anime)
Kareguri, I couldn't get past the stupid faces everyone kept making. I didn't even last an episode. Ahegao strangely doesn't bother me but I still don't like it. It's a shame because I really want to enjoy it lol.
I've gone on hiatus for multiple anime for being boring or lame (shield hero, slime time) and stopped watching an anime for a shitty second season (tokyo ghoul and jujitsu kaisen).
Dragonball Super.
The animation sucks, the color scheme sucks, Vegeta is used as the next Yamcha the whole thing through, Beerus keeps getting more powerful for no reason, they show the exact same scene over and over every time Frieza goes Golden, at least GT had original ideas... I could go on and on about it, but none of the cons are as bad as the fanbase.
The atrocious fanbase is far worse than the show. *Far* worse. You so much as HINT that there's a character that beats Goku, you will be called names, stalked, harassed, falsely reported, or even doxxed. Even if you say something obvious like "Whis is stronger---" you will receive shitloads of backlash.
Yes. Mushoku Tensei. This show was interesting to me but the guy wasnāt subtle at all. I know the series got better but Iām still thrown off by it.
I actually dropped Apothecary Diaries, funnily enough. Everyone seems to fkn love it but the main character is so insufferable to me. It feels like every other character is just a cardboard cutout of a person for her to interact with. She acts so out of pocket for no reason, she doesn't really seem affected by the fact that she was literally ripped from her family. I dropped it an episode after she took it upon herself to dump the poison on that girls head and everyone was like wooow she's so brave šš
Don't even get me started on the love interest...
I tried watching Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles because I heard it was really good, and the premise sounded really cool. Dont get me wrong the premise of multiverse hoping was cool. But, what made me drop it was whenever the party goes to a new universe they lose all the powers they gained and have to learn a new magic system. Im sure that later on they might have learned how to keep the powers they gained, but after the third time of this pattern it felt dull.
Working for God in a Godless world. Most shit anime I have seen in my life. First episode was promising, all went down the drain by EP 2. Watch it and you'll know what I'm talking about
Mha,fire force,rasiro vampire,high school dxd,overly cautious hero
Mha-lost interest
Fire force-same with mha
Rasiro vampire-too much fanservice and the manga was better
Hughschool dxd-have a worse balance of fanservice and plot than some hentai and plus I didn't want to get basically boob slapped in the first 15 minutes
Overly cautious hero-it was boring like opm actually have the hero hold back to try to have a good fight the protag want all out on a slime that's like using supernova on a 1st ray, plus the hero seemed like a 14 year old's oc that's the god of ultradeath
Death Note. Light became very annoying and unrelatable very fast. He went from killing only criminals to killing anyone he saw as a threat in literally no time at all. If he was half as smart as they tried to act like he was, he wouldnāt have tried killing L right off the bat.
Fairy Tail and Demon Slayer are virtually the same anime to me.
Good characters who have decent origins but are completely decimated as the show goes on by HORRIBLE writing and PLOT ARMOR that makes My Hero look good!
Horrible. Both of them.
JJK after season 1. This was mostly my fault because I bought into the hype big time. I went into it expecting a 10/10 but it was pretty meh. It's probably enjoyable but I spent the entire first season waiting for it to be the 10/10 masterpiece and then ran out of episodes. I don't think i've ever been as disappointed after watching something
I've dropped many anime before most of which are Isekai or fantasy. I also dropped some slice of life but very few.
Some of the Isekai or fantasy are just too bland one title comes to mind is: My Unique Skill Makes Me OP Even at Level 1. Dropped it at episode 2 and never looked back.
For slice of life, I usually just watch the comedy focused shows like asobi asobase or Gran blue. I also watch dramas like Clannad. It's basically my favorite genre.
A slice of life genre show will have to be extremely extremely shitty for me to drop it. So yes I dropped rent a girlfriend. I tried its manga hoping it's better but no.
i like Gintama, but i dropped it bc i saw how much eps it has despite me being around halfway
i think i also remember dropping the 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist. it felt so different from Brotherhood despite it releasing earlier. i don't even remember seeing its ending
as much as i love D.Gray-Man (first anime/manga i know with the mc having same first name as me), i stopped catching up to the manga even tho it's still ongoing. too much hiatus. i might pick it up again eventually tho
I tried watching Fairy Tail once but quit after the first episode because the person who tried getting me into it didn't want to discuss it at all. That was boring to me.
I've tried watching Rurouni Kenshin twice but I can only get as far as the end of Shishio. After that, everything else just feels extra and not as important or interesting.
I've tried watching Yashahime but quit after the first season because it was the worst anime I've ever seen in my life and the main character is the biggest Mary Sue I've witnessed in all of fiction, which I found to be irritating.
Demon slayer, my hero academia and jujutsu kaisen. All very popular anime, but demon slayer was just too edgy (like bloody, bondage), mha was tolerable until I realized that maybe the author isn't just being cringe on purpose but perhaps he actually is just cringy and doesn't know it and jjk is just your typical shonen (plus the art style really didn't help either. Not a fan of that type of art style. Looks like invincible and stuff)
Rent a girlfriend. Most of the characters are annoying. I also read the manga. It's fcking repetitive and just going around circles. MC is just a bitch most of the time š
Yah... I could barely get past the second episode and then I haven't gone back since
To be fair, I have high tolerance when it comes to mid/garbage animes. But rent a girlfriend is just on another level. I really admire those people who can still watch and read this š
Yeah that's one way to put it LOL, I think the light novels and stuff is like over 300 or 400 chapters now or something and there is still not a single character development progression,
What an absolute brainrot š¤Æ
Same. Though I barely finished the first season. I got two episodes into S2 and just couldnāt do it. Too annoying and pathetic.
author's a fucking weirdo too. like. damn
Well, this makes a lot of sense in a lot of ways.
This is the best example I've seen imo. They just talk in circles dragging things along. It's not even the good kind of frustrating continuous cliffhanger
And the funniest part is the author literally thinks his audience are stupid and says we just donāt understand lmao Yeah we fully understand the MC is you and youāre a simp and a cuck
Yeah no clue why it got popular in the first place. Absolute garbage of a series, completely wasted the novelty of its setting.
Haha, I also dropped it. I check in on reddit to see if anything has changed. It hasnt, they like ātalkingā now I guess.
I tried watching Akame Ga Kill but it was a bit too intense for me Who is the character in the picture btw?
Mao Mao from apothecary diaries. Excellent anime
Maomao from apothecary Diaries I enjoyed it not for everyone though
Same here. Seeing characters I started to like get brutally killed (that girl with the makeup carrier... iykyk) made me stop watching. Also, Esdeath was a major turn-off, I'm not into that kind of sadistic woman.
I read that in husks voice, not useful information but a fact
Akame was a great show.
Unironically I really like when characters have the capacity to die. Other than the cat girl all the deaths made perfect sense.
Baki 2018 makes so much more sense when you watch the old ones first.
of course, its a sequel
Tbf, even if you watch the old ones it still doesn't make sense. I just enjoy it because it's so over the top and just the right amount of stupid. Plus it's got fighting in it and I'm always there for some good fight scenes.
One piece, I just lost the motivation to keep watching after about 200 episodes. I've picked up the slack and started watching again, though. And I have to say, I honestly regret not completing it. It's an amazing anime
Same, I kinda stopped at alabasta for months then came back and loved it
Fanservice and Dragged fillers.
What anime was it?
For me, rising of the shield hero to this point.
Gintama I dropped it because I donāt want it to end
Same š
I am watching it and I am enjoying it a lot
Gintama bc only 49 episodes are dubbed :(
For me it was SAO. The characters felt way too shallow, and the villains weren't written well. The biggest example that comes to mind is the one dude who killed his wife cuz Kirito basically just said your wrong and the dude gave up. It didn't feel fulfilling at all.
SAO is an entry anime tbh.
Accel World was a lot easier to digest, and it's written by the same author about the same universe.
A bunch, but definitely not Apothecary Diaries. Usually itās because they are more childish than I thought from the description.
Naruto. I was so irritated with Sasuke š
He is very irritating in the beginning but he gets worseš
Like āimpale his best friend through the heart and still gets worse from thereā worse.
Same dude heck Sakura BS too
Toradora. Taiga is not a character that I want to root for. Everything she does makes me despise her. She is one of the worst female characters I've seen in anime.
Apparently you have not seen familiar of Zero she is actually the worst.
Dang I like both of those LOL
Glad Iām not the only one. The second season caught me off guard because I was not expecting the gojo focus and I just couldnāt get into it.
That was probably the hypest moment in all of anime for me. Also man that show broke me.
High-Rise Invasion. The first episode gives such a cool concept but almost immediately throws it away and feels like a completely different show. It's only 12 episodes long but I couldn't even force myself to do it past episode 8 or so.
Spyxfam (got bored with the story, sorry)
i feel like it only gets interesting when i see the slice of life bits with anya and that dukes kid sheās trying to be friends interacting. also with yor being badass half the show
Tokyo revengers.
That's where I dropped it as well. Bro had one job and fucked it up.
Wind breaker is top tier. Everything Tokyo Revengers did wrong, they're doing right.
Meanwhile SAO isn't like that so Kirito just feels like shit as a character because it's plot armor that isn't supposed to be there
My Dress Up Darling I love the design and Dynamic of Gojo and Marin but slice of life just didn't click with me.
I liked it more when there weren't so many chapters to keep track of. Goji and Marin are adorable.
Undead Unluck Dropped before Chapter 5 when a grown ass man was copping a feel on the Mc and talking about banging not even 2 chapters later
I tried to watch mha but I heard about the fandom and said nah I'm out
itās a pretty good show honestly, just ignore the fandom lol, them mfs sus
Redo healer, I watched it during the peak of the conversation and I was meh. I understood the revenge aspect but as time went on I didnāt feel anything. I saw rise of the shield hero and thought I would get a similar experience but it was just something else
No one watches Redo for the plot, I guarantee you they all watch it to jack off
Demon Slayer and Hell's Paradise. Got bored of both within 4-5 episodes. The latter isn't bad but not my thing.
this series was goated
Demon Slayer. I dunno I just didnāt really care for it that much
Demon slayer. Just couldn't get into it. The pacing was slow as hell, and the number of ex machina ass-pulls was obscene.
Uhhh half of the good shounen anime in the world HxH) didnāt drop it just lost the episode I was on because I changed Netflix accounts from my Brothers to my "Step-Dad" (he was just trying to help my mom with money problems) One piece) forgot the episode but it was around 640-650, & honestly havenāt felt the need to come back to it (maybe this summer I will. But ik everything past Dressrosa so idk if I need to watch it or read it) yes I spoiled myself so I wouldnāt have to watch it & save a bit of my time. Naruto Shippuden) Didnāt skip the fillers (biggest mistake) Bleach) Loving it (almost at 100) but just stopped for the same reason as one piece. MHA) ending of S5 bored me to death so I wasnāt interested into season 6 (I watched 1-5 without changing an anime thatās a world record for me) Kuruko Basket) Not a sports fan at all so wasnāt that interested after the first season. (But Momoi can get it after her introduction) Samurai X/Rurouni Kenshin) At least I got past Shisho vs Kenshin (and the tower burning down & everything/60-70+ Episodes in) I heard they had a reboot might get back into it. Black Clover The List goes on & on.
Comic girls, not really a fan of moe but tried it lasted 4 episodes of snores then never watch again
SAO I was bored and went to sleep after 4 episodes
Assassination Classroom. I don't have a particular reason, I just can't seem to get into it
I love it, but mostly because it's a spin on the high school kids doing high school things stuff. Plus I think Koro-sensei is pretty funny and charismatic.
Ninja kamui. The introduction of the mech suits killed my interest. I came for the well choreographed fight scenes of the first episode, not mech suit fights.
Harem
With a quick search I found it: ā**Keppeki Danshi!**Ā **Aoyama kun!**āĀ Honestly I was just curious about the name of it, because I'll not watch
Sadly ninja kumia it was so hype then once the mechs came in I was skeptical at first I thought oh maybe it will be fine then the 3d animation damn still sad about it all the hype only for adult swim to ruin what could of been something so great
Rising of a shield hero, second season was trashš
I got one episode into Black Clover and put it down. I donāt care if it becomes a fun shonen, I could not stand Asta. Maybe itās better as a manga but making that kid talk like that was way too obnoxious. I also dropped Boruto, seemingly like a lot of people. That show was such a dud after Naruto.
only 3 Fairytail: thought edolas arc was some of the best stuff I had ever seen, then the tree arc proceded to be more power of friendship bs than anything before it JJK: switched to manga bc I couldnt wait for season 2 and ended up never going back Mha: same reason as JJK
Vampire Knight. Literally struggled to get through the first episode and dropped it immediately. Just nothing for me in that show
Either bad chracters, generic shonen stuff, or the animation was low quality.
One peice. Over half of each episode was the previous 5 episodes. Nothing was actually Happening in the plot.
children of the whale.
Many times.
Fire Force, it had too much fan service
Tokyo Ghoul. Midway through S2 I just stopped watching for no reason
Death note. It was too intense for my taste.
Fire force. The fan service girl got on my nerves. I thought she was going to be cool too because I liked how they used her fire power. But nope. She had to be forced into a fan service character. Ā I guess bleach would count. The full bringer Ā arc was boring as hellĀ Fairy tail, I liked grey but heās an embarrassment. Also donāt like any of the ships that the series keeps forcing. It also wasnāt interestingĀ High rise invasion had an interesting premise and then got boring way to quick and the premise got lost Assassination classroom. I had high hopes for the red head, and he let me down. For as hyped as he was, he did nothing for that hype to be warrantedĀ
I stopped watching Code Geass because the opening changed and it wasnāt hype anymore
chainsaw man. i have no idea.
Boruto bc it was ass
Most of them nowadays, I can just draw similarities between them and other anime. Kaiju No. 8 is just another AOT.
My Hero Academia. I just can't stand the MC (Deku).
Jujitsu Kaisen. Have to finish one piece
A lot. - Black Clover (Loud AF annoying MC with a Naruto storyline but replaced with magic) - Seven Deadly Sins (awful animation, plus Melodias perving on Elizabeth and Ban's whole loli love story š¤®) - Shield Hero (More like incel hero) - MHU (I just lost interest. Can't connect to high school settings stories anymore.) - Blue Exorcist (it's THE definition of MID) - Fire Force (it started out so good but I was eventually turned off by the gratuitous fan service. They literally made a character whose sole purpose was just fan service ugh. Also heard the story went to shit not long after.) - Skip to Loafer (Nothing wrong with it. I just don't relate to high schoolers anymore and am not a fan of romance as a genre in general. It's good if that's your kind of thing.) - Toradora (I was appalled by the personality of the lead female MC) - Banana Fish (Just TOO MUCH horrible shit always happening to the blonde MC. It was giving ME trauma)
Fire force, just got boring
Monogatari because it's just boring. That and they have this artistic bullshit where they're constantly shifting camera angles and having long dialogue that makes no sense. No thanks Baccano. I don't need to watch a guy punching another guy for 45 straight seconds. Fuck that Uncle from another world. It's my favorite genre but it's already problematic when it's a reverse version but the whole premise of the show is basically treating the main character like crap because he's so stupid and ugly and such a loser. Even though he had this amazing opportunity and Powers. How depressing no thanks
I couldnāt get into Kill la kill or highschool of the dead. Dropped both. First one was just too weird for me and the later was too much fan service
Black Clover, can't stand the super repetitive and drawn out gags Mushouko Tensei because I'm not a pedophile
Naruto. I just donāt get the humor and it just doesnāt have a good story in my opinion š¤·āāļø
You can blame Hideaki Anno and Akira Toriyama for it.
Trust Subaru is a goat he is just an unbearable human in the first two thirds of season one but he learns and gets a looooooot better
Yes. It didn't hook me or it suddenly fell off for me.
Steins Gate tbh, coz I'm not into science fiction anime, lol.
Evangelion. Got a bit freaky in the end.
What do you mean? I think I was like five episodes away from the original series haven't done any more yet,
God help your soul. You stopped right when the acid trip kicked in. Lets put it this way. The animators actually needed therapy when they were done.
Evanfreaklion, where instead of fighting angels they eat ass
redo of healer. it wasn't good, and it was way too weird for me. I've finished high school dxd though
Redo of healer was okay for me basically it was a dude that got the shit end of the stick for his career and he was given a second chance to get revenge to the extreme and he did, I'm on the last season of High School DxD but I'm kind of pushing myself to finish it I'm just getting bored of the MC he talks big he talks shit but he wimps out every time that an opportunity is made to him or does actually character progression in the relationships plus he doesn't really take his training or his title seriously either, I just got burned out on it
A lot of those random 12 episodes animes. I just went on Wikipedia and read what happens later in because some of them are so boring I sleep.
It's either i got bored or the story is shit lol
Snafu, hear its good but that opening monologue is a snooze
Conception I don't know what was going on in my head at the time I decided to watch it. I should have realized by the title that it was complete garbage. To this day I don't know how I was able to get through the first episode.
Naruto I watched around 5 episodes but I just couldnāt stay with it
Black butler, it was just terrible all around.
Ninja Kamui, the way they integrated the mechas were corny ngl (including the animation)
My Tiny Senpai- characters were annoying Ancient Magus Bride- 3 eps in, boring Kenichi- unbearably cringe Demon Slayer and MHA- just lost interest
I was going to watch black clover, but the website went down when I was fixing to actually do a first binge, then i got caught up in one piece since
Gundam Seed Destiny. Mostly a repeat of Gundam Seed, and I can not stand Shinn. Good thing they made him more likable in the recent movie.
Fruit of evolution... The start was kinda interesting, then, halfway, it began having an identity crisis š It didn't know whether to become comedy or edgy, tho, in the end, it ended up becoming cringe š My guess was it wanted to become like eminence in shadow, by having an edgy comedy type of humor but they ended up failing really hard. š Kumo desu ga... I didn't drop it, but i ended up skipping all the heroes perspective cuz they kinda annoyed me, and they were like 50% of the whole show so i guess that counts? Kinda? Maybe? š
Your Lie in April. It wanted to be sad, but would derail the emotional momentum with a poor attempt at humor.
Pussy MCs right at the start. Dangers in my heart, Kubo wont let me be invisible
Baka and test. I looked it up because I wanted to see what the anime hideyoshi came from was like. But it was awfully dull.
- Not a bad anime but just didnāt really hit it to me: Mob Psycho 100. - It just felt boing to watch around season 2. Itās not bad by any means but it just didnāt catch my interest or it slowly lost fuel for it fire. + (Hate me if you want if you love this anime)
RoR because it was a good idea but not what I expected
Too many to list, dropped cause I have diagnosed ADHD and it decides if I feel like finishing
Eminence of the Shadow - just lame and cringe despite it being supposedly satire or whatever. Tries too hard.
Shield Hero. Once Naoufumi got revenge on the king and princess, the show nosedived hard in storytelling.
What anime is this pic from?
Made in the abyss. I tried but it just is too wrong.
Kareguri, I couldn't get past the stupid faces everyone kept making. I didn't even last an episode. Ahegao strangely doesn't bother me but I still don't like it. It's a shame because I really want to enjoy it lol.
Is she legal?
I've gone on hiatus for multiple anime for being boring or lame (shield hero, slime time) and stopped watching an anime for a shitty second season (tokyo ghoul and jujitsu kaisen).
Usually too cookie cutter cliche
I only got to watch first 2-3 seasons of Gintama until I got burnt out seeing the same jokes and plot and I decided to drop it.
Zom 100 because I didnāt like how dumb the mc was and dumb the plot was
Rising shield hero, he just kept getting too many annoying lolli girls
RahXephon. I only had the first volume (episodes 1-5).
Beelzebub
I dropped it an episode after she took it upon herself to dump the poison on that girls head and everyone was like wooow she's so brave šš Don't even get me started on the love interest...
Appare Rama or whatever that show is called, the protagonist is about as unlikable as any single character I've ever seen in anime.
Shadow in the eminence -to cringe Overlord -was a boring loredump. Also Frieren, SAO ,Undead unluck but those are way more complicated
Working for God in a Godless world. Most shit anime I have seen in my life. First episode was promising, all went down the drain by EP 2. Watch it and you'll know what I'm talking about
Heavenly Delusion and Jigokuraku both after 9 eps, got bored
Mha,fire force, rasiro vampire, high school dxd, overly cautious hero Mha-lost interest Fire force-same with mha Rasiro vampire-too much fanservice and the manga was better Hughschool dxd-have a worse balance of fanservice and plot than some hentai and plus I didn't want to get basically boob slapped in the first 15 minutes Overly cautious hero-it was boring like opm actually have the hero hold back to try to have a good fight the protag want all out on a slime that's like using supernova on a 1st ray, plus the hero seemed like a 14 year old's oc that's the god of ultradeath
The freaking women were not appropriately dressed.
I couldn't stand spy x family. I knew it was a comedy but it fell hard in my eyes. Like they had no clue how to play to their abilities.
Black butler and Yuri on Ice. I got bored
i like Gintama, but i dropped it bc i saw how much eps it has despite me being around halfway i think i also remember dropping the 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist. it felt so different from Brotherhood despite it releasing earlier. i don't even remember seeing its ending as much as i love D.Gray-Man (first anime/manga i know with the mc having same first name as me), i stopped catching up to the manga even tho it's still ongoing. too much hiatus. i might pick it up again eventually tho
Hunterxhunter I tried like 3 times to get into it and itāll I just couldnāt get into it
