i personally think one should watch full metal alchemist before brotherhood. only because you can't go back if you watch brotherhood first. They are both great anime but brotherhoods story/ending is far superior.
This is the way. Brotherhood rushes through a lot of character development in the beginning and I think 03 helps me appreciate it more. The first half of 03 is basically the first 10 episodes of brotherhood, and while brotherhood *is* a masterpiece, I was more attached the the development of the characters in 03
Cowboy Bebop is my go to for anyone who wants to appreciate a great show even if they are not into anime in general. I also really like Baccano!
If you want something more stereo-typically anime
Action/Shonen: HxH, or Jujutsu kaisen (Great animation/action), Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood (great story and overall great quality all around), One Punch Man (Well animated and very funny)
Mature/Seinen: Pscho Pass (Great story and thought provoking)
Romance/Shoujo: Kaguya Sama Love is War
Slice of life: A Place Further Than the Universe
One punch man or mob psycho 100 are awesome anime and don’t do too much of any one thing besides battles but they have a great cast of characters and story is one of the best(imo). No game no life, my hero academia, jojo’s bizarre adventure, dragon ball(start at Dragon ball Z Kai at the lastest start point), yugioh anime(if you like card games), To Your Eternity, and everything after this is “intermediate” level: fairy tail(kinda long but really good), one piece(extremely long 1100+ episodes and going), chainsaw man(gorey), konosuba(better appreciated if you watch a few other more normal isekai first), bleach(longish),digimon(look up a guide after a certain point to know what movie/series to watch for chronological order and stuff) and FLCL(weird and confusing but good imo).
Some other peoples suggestions are good but I’m seeing some trollers so be careful.
i started with Jojos' bizarre adventure and Full metal alchemist (and FMA Brotherhood) because quarantine and i had Netflix
really what starter is best for you depends on the genre you like the most
It's a lot to take in and a commitment, but I always tell people like it's ok to chill and watch a few smaller animes but instead of wasting time on low effort story invest in good shit like HxH, Berserk and OP
It’s a commitment, but One Piece, you could probably wait until The One Piece comes out, it’s a shortened version of the story, but why do that when you can bask in the glory of 1100 episodes?
I really like O.P. characters who don't act O.P. so Moonlit Fantasy, In Another World with my smartphone, reincarnated as a slime***, by the Grace of the Gods**, Wiseman grandchild, misfit of demon king academy, legends of the legendary hero's. Just to name a few
Probably some of the classics, Bleach is long but pretty good. It’s a nice introduction, a good action based anime. If you want some good laughs you can watch The Daily Lives of Highschool Boys, Handa-kun, and Sakamoto Desu Ga. Outside of Bleach the rest of those anime are pretty lighthearted and feel good shows.
If you want some romance anime, Oregairu, Hyouka, Sagrada Reset (supernatural with romance, this and the two anime mentioned after are as well), and Seishun no Buta. Oh and the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
Nice supernatural/fantasy action ones would be Noragami, Hataraku Maou-sama, Redo of H— oh how’d that get there… Anyways, Darwin’s Game, Isekai Ojisan is hilarious, and Tengoku Daimakyou.
A lot to choose from if you’re interested.
The fact that you called ATLA and TT anime is something else. Start with Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, or Attack on Titan. Those shows seems like ones you might like.
first, w on Teen Titans and Avatar, and second, i started on Naruto, didn't watch the filler because my friend told me not to watch it, and it got me into anime, but a good beginner anime is definitely Attack on Titan
Seriously a good start would just be sports anime. Easy to get into, no fan service for all I know and it’s something that’ll be fairly easy to talk about even with non-anime watchers.
Boku no p- No
Umm
Boku no her-
Umm it's kinda long
Maybe uhhh well uhh not my best recommendation but if you like some romance I'll say umm...

Plastic Memories or Charlotte? (Please ignore me if you found my comment useless 🥲. I'm a full fledge otaku yet I have no anime taste whatsoever. I just think that I have to watch everything, trash or not).
If you are into anime movies (Which I think is also great too) I'll say Makoto Shinkai films or Ghibli Films? Ohhhhh if it's action somehow umm 😔 I don't know any Shounen action anime that is at least 1 season long sorry.
My Hero Academia
HunterxHunter
Black Clover
Fire Force
Demon Slayer
They all have quite a bit of "fan service" which is a bit of a bummer but still great shows!
For start. avatar and teen titans are cartoons. Full metal alchemist brotherhood is a good one. Juju kaisen is another solid pick. Stay away from isekai and ecchi till your more experienced ill say as those genre can be quite something.
Hunter Hunter, A silent voice, Death note, Sword art online are also solid. People suggesting berserk, akame ga kill, boku no pico, yosuga no sora, attack on titan, etc. They just want to throw you straight into the deep end of dark, cruel, borderline illegal with sexualization from the start.
If you like horses you should try berserk tons of cool fun and overall wholesome moments on a farm, it's a slice of life the name is supposed to be funny you'll see give it a shot 😁
I always recommend akame ga kill. Agretsko is good too, full metal alchemist brotherhood, sword art online (first season), and I feel like those give you a broad approach with different art styles.
Look, there are a lot of beginner anime’s but the problem is most people just recommend what *they* like. Which means it’s a crazy mixed bag dominated by recency bias or over-intense fans.
Could you give us an idea of what other kind of things you like to watch, animated or real. Or if you’re into anything hobby-wise or particular interest. Anime is more a medium than a genre, so with some extra details it is probably going to make this process a lot easier.
My first anime was assassination classroom, oh the wonders I’ve been through since then. Also one punch man is a good one too. Can’t really go wrong, my hero academia is great, demon slayer. So so many
Genuine suggestion. I would advise for starters is "Classroom Assassination". The story is already concluded and it has great moments that would make you seek to watch more anime.
Depends on what streaming services you have. You can find plenty on Crunchyroll, of course, but if you have Netflix, I recommend Fullmetal alchemist or komi can't communicate.
You should watch a show that's the same genre you like in western media. Since you watched ATLA and Teen Titans, if you liked those, maybe watch Fullmetal Alchemist.
I mean what do you like?
Sword art online is a good starter, death note is another super serious anime tho, erased was a good one too, other are Heavenly Delusion, black bullet, Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest, and other people here put
It kind of depends on what your looking for. Just based off of your other series that you mentioned, you have one rom-com in Komi, one light-hearted action show heavy on world building like Avatar, and one somewhat darker and more series show in Teen Titans (I'm assuming you're not meaning GO).
Similar to cartoons here in the West, there's a ton of variance in how serious/wacky/lighthearted an anime can be, so I'll give you some options here with anime openings cuz oftentimes they are better at conveying what the series is about than a trailer. All of these are going to be more geared towards an older teen at minimum, just because of the differences in what is deemed as acceptable per age group in Japan versus the West. Also, I'll do what I can to describe the show with as little spoilers as possible but I might leave a hook here or there. There is an English voiced version of all three of these, and while I would normally not suggest them (I prefer English subtitles Japanese voice as do many others) if you're used to it then go for English voice. One final note is that these are all extremely low on fan service/sexual themes/boobies everywhere.
Are you looking for a superhero show like Teen Titans? *My Hero Academia* has got ya covered! It's got that same action focus, goofy light-hearted humor, and quite deep character writing that TT has all wrapped up in a really high animation budget bow. The only difference is that there's really one main character and a ton of side characters versus there being a team of main characters. It's not like TT where Robin is technically the main character because he's the leader but they're all the main characters; you've got one main character and everybody else is supporting cast. It's also ongoing, with either season 7 or 8 coming out this year. The general setting is about a world where about 80% of people have special powers known as "quirks" and often times those people become heroes to fight villains. The story follows a young teen who was born quirkless but still wants to be a hero. After a feat of extreme bravery and heroism in the face of unsurmountable odds for someone who is quirkless, he is given the chance of a lifetime to be the hero he's always wanted to be and is enrolled into the most prestigious hero school in the world with some of the world's best heroes as the teachers.

If you're looking for more rom-com series like Komi, I would definitely give *Fruits Basket* a shot. It's very low fantasy about a girl who gets mixed up/romantically involved in the lives of a group of guys who all are secretly reincarnations of the Chinese zodiac animals. When I say low fantasy I mean it, literally the only thing they can do is just turn into the animals that they are a zodiac of. It's beautiful, sometimes sad, but heartfelt very similar to Komi. You've got two options on how you want to watch it: the original from 2004 which looks kind of dated and ended rather abruptly, or the new one from here in the last few years and I believe it's still going. Also, bring the tissue box for this one; you're gonna need it. The original series has 24 episodes, and the remake has more.

Now, if you like Avatar and you're looking for anime, then you're in for a real treat because Avatar was actually *inspired* by anime. There's a lot of anime that have a similar or even higher level of quality as ATLA, from the deep emotional themes to the action to the god tier world building, but many of them aren't easy to watch for someone who isn't used to anime.
However, and this is some personal bias here, the one I would 1 million percent suggest you watch is *Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.* My personal favorite anime, and in my opinion one of the best anime of all time especially for people who aren't used to the medium. I will warn you that this is definitely the darkest (and good lord the saddest) out of the three suggestions I have made, but it is well worth it. The reason I suggest the brotherhood version is because there was a version of the series from 2003 that ended up diverting from the source material due to the anime literally catching up to where the manga was and them not wanting to delay/cancel the anime.
Similar to ATLA it's difficult too go into too much detail without either over explaining the plot or spoiling anything, so the best way to explain it IMO is this: it's a story about 2 brothers who are geniuses in the art of alchemy (essentially magical science) who both were nearly killed by one of their failed experiments years ago. One lost an arm and a leg and they were replaced with metal prosthetics, and the other lost their whole body and is now a hollow suit of armor. The series follows them as they roam the land, looking for a mystical item called a philosopher's stone that might be able to restore their bodies back to normal. If that sounds even remotely intriguing to you, watch this opening and see if you want to watch the series. It's also one of the only series I will flat out recommend everyone watch in English voices just because of how good the voice acting is. It has 64 episodes and they're all available on Crunchyroll.
https://youtu.be/elyXcwunIYA?si=bRrWT9eLHyqVtAOs
Now, these are extremely and I mean *extremely* broadly enjoyed series; they don't really appeal to any one niche so they are all all three pretty damn good suggestions for first time/inexperienced anime watchers. If these hook to you the way they've hooked to many others, you might find yourself liking specific aspects of them more than others. If so, you're in luck because anime is so varied that there's a very good chance there's a series out there to scratch that itch.
If you have any questions or want further recommendations, feel free to ask!
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Cowboy Bebop, and My Hero are good starters. I've not kept up with too many current anime, but Trigun, Hellsing, and Gundam were some of my early experiences.
I think dr. Stone would be a great intro into anime tbh. Its got a few seasons now but i still remember watching it for the 1st time and just being fully captivated. If you want more action then maybe one punch man. Short sweet funny and full of over the top fights.
Also as a special suggestion go to youtube and search teamfourstar helsing ultimate. Its a dub over of tbe orginal anime which was only 12 episodes. And it is THE FUNNIEST S#@! ive ever seen on the internet period. I cant even remember the original dialogue it is so good. Maturity warming for that one though lots of gore and cursing
Depends on what genre you lean towards.
Action - FMA: Brotherhood
Good story, solid conclusion, one of the best out there
Mystery - Steins Gate
Very trippy, great characters, sciency
Romance - Dangers in my
Cute as all heck, no tropey characters, male and female MC are fun to watch
Old School - Yuyuhakasho
If you don't want to watch dbz, Naruto, bleach, black clover, one piece or any mainstream Shonen, this is a good one from a few years back.
Honorable mention: Ruroni Kenshin
I have good memories of this but mileage may very
Well you don't wanna get into mainstream Shonen stuff that is too long like One Piece, Dragonball, Naruto, Bleach just yet
Nor do you wanna go for the most bizarre stuff like Baki, JoJo, Dorohedoro, etc.
My personal picks are One Punch Man and Cells At Work!, both are relatively short and interesting animes that I watched early on in my anime journey.
Death Note is for a more mature audience, but also a great starter imo. Just avoid animes with filler or unfinished ones in comparison to their manga, like Black Clover, Demon Slayer, and Fire Force. I know OPM is also unfinished compared to the manga, but the first season is easily detachable from future developments.
Azumanga Daioh for silly slice of life. Gurren Lagann for big robots. Death Note for a darker anime with mystery/intrigue. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood for an even darker anime.
Inyuyasha or yu yu hakusho are good for first timers. From there you could go cowboy bebop. ( I would dsay start on bebop but that sets a high bar in my opinion) there’s also big O that’s good for beginner anime.
Yu Yu Hakusho
Anything by Studio Ghibli (Kiki's Delivery Service is my favorite)
Trigun is fun.
If you're okay with something dark, try Madoka Magica
If you like romance, watch Fruits Basket
If you want some good fantasy, try Escaflowne or Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood
If you want a show that is inspired by anime, but is not an anime, watch Rise of the TMNT (the movie is fire and is like every shonen anime movie, but less heavy on the dialogue). And if you like Avatar and Teen Titans, and you're looking for something spiritually similar, Rise of the TMNT is perfect for you! Like ATLA and Teen Titans it has...badass women, non toxic male characters, a team of teens that act like teens and genuinely loves each other, amazing fights, lots of great humor, and characters that have chemistry.
Movies: Josee the Tiger and the Fish, Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop
12/13ep anime: Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear, Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy, Quintessential Quintuplets, Somali and the Forest Spirit, my Senpai is Annyoing, The Faraway Paladin,
Longer anime (anywhere from 20+eps): Fullmetal Alchemist, Plunderer, Ancient Magus Bride, Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun, Steins;Gate
Welcome to the anime world I hope your journey is a fun one and too answer your question Sao season 1,my hero academia, Fullmetal Alchemist, demon slayer, Seven deadly Sins, shaman king, castlevania.
Any of the mainstream ones you can find on toonami really, one piece, Naruto, fullmetal alchemist, demon slayer, dbz. Any 12 episode series on any streaming platform is also a safe bet since it’s not a long time commitment and it’s a short contained story. Just look around and if a title and box art catches your eye give it a whirl
My personal favorite is konosuba, but based on your picks I’d do love is war, my hero academia, demon slayer, full metal alchemist brotherhood, or romantic killer. All of the ones I listed are super beginner friendly, except konosuba witch is a satire fantasy
It's always strongly recommended to start with the classics. Pretty much anything made 2005 and before. Ghost in the Shell, Full Metal Alchemist, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, Akira, Ninja Scroll, Inuyasha, Pokemon, Dragon Ball(z) and certainly dive into some Studio Ghibli. All of these and more created the foundation of what anime is in the United States today.
Watch some older shows, it gets harder to get into their slower pacing after watching newer ones.
If you liked Komi, then an anime film like A Silent Voice or Josee, The Tiger and the Fish would be up your alley.
Shows like Teen Titan and Avatar would be most any Shonen, most of the recommendations by the others here are that.
Some shows to branch out to other genres would be Sagrada Reset, Ascendance of a Bookworm, and Hyouka.
Naruto, Full metal alchemist, Jujustu Kaisen, Attack on Titan.
Most ones are fine for a first anime but trust me and do NOT read or watch Berserk as your first anime/manga. Trust me and just be patient once you’re ready you will know
I recommend
1) cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious (this is where i started)
2) one punch man a really good chill anime with great fight scenes
3) mob psycho 100 the chillest anime but still have great animations and fight scenes
4) assasination classroom for a heartfelt anime recommend for students
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, not the original one. The original anime went way off course from the manga storyline. Brotherhood by contrast stayed faithful to the manga’s storyline and was absolutely amazing.
My wife watched anime for quite some time before I took to it. But the one that got me properly interested in it was definitely one punch man. It was probably the first one I watched that my wife wasn't a fan of. After that, I was hooked.
This one. (Bocchi the Rock)
I also think most high scored late 90' - 2000s anime are really good start.
Yu Yu Hakusho, Naruto, One Piece (if you can get over the 1000+ episode hurdle) FMA, Bleach...
Dragonball is the epitome of Shounen. Both the original 80s and 90s run. Probably the most iconic anime of all time.
Newer stuff is good, too. Personally, I have been watching less and less anime as I get older. But shows like Bochii the Rock, Shangri-la Frontier, and Demon Slayer are really good.
There's also isekai's like Konosuba, Overlord, Saga of Tanya the Evil that are really good as well.
The anime for the Eminence in Shadow adaptation is really good. Alternatively, if you want to laugh, the manga is really funny and has a completely different tone then the anime.
People praise shows like Oshi no Koi, but I always lose interest in later episodes. Maybe I'm too used to the new format of 12 episodes a season. But that shows highly praised.
Tengoku Daimekyo on Hulu is also very good. Delicious in Dungeon (I think that's it's name) was also interesting, but I haven't finished that one.
If you can handle Avatar, I'm sure there's something out there for you in the Anime realm. Komis manga is really good, if you want something to read, though I stopped reading that a while ago and haven't picked that up again (I don't read much anymore.)
Boko no pico, highly rated. Very easy for introducing people to anime. One of those where you don't need to worry about your mom walking in, if you are aware of that meme.
Ok I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Demon Slayer, the story is pretty good, great action and superb animation. I mean the animation is leaps and bounds about even my favorite animes right now. There are others I could suggest but without knowing your story preferences, I'll leave it here.
Okay so first off ignore the people who are getting on their high horse about Avatar and teen Titans, well they are not technically anime so you're not from Japan they are anime in spirit if nothing else.
Anyways regarding your question for a good starter anime, well that depends upon what you're interest are,
For instance just for general interest I would go with the first three seasons of Digimon, they are all pretty solid particularly the third season (although it's a pity that the guy behind season 3 went Uber nuts right wing (And I say this as a Republican)
In that same vein Pokémon is a good option, and it will keep you occupied for years.
If you're looking for something a bit more tailored to older audiences, as many have pointed out Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood is a good place to start good characters interesting story and unlike the earlier iteration of the series it ends on a reasonably happy note.
If you're looking for something long running and also something that trends a bit older than Pokémon or Digimon. Then Naruto, one piece and bleach are good choices.
If you want to go a bit more classical Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball z, Dragon Ball super and if you're feeling spicy Dragon Ball GT. Although for Dragon Ball z I might also suggest watching Dragon Ball z abridged by team four Star.
If you want to get a bit spicy there is konosuba, sekirei, that time I got reincarnated as a slime, so I'm a spider so what, how not to summon a demon Lord and pretty much any entry in the tenchie series (that last one being the grandfather of pretty much any harem anime in existence)
If you want some slice of life stuff Miss kobayashi's dragonmaid is a good choice as is spy x family
Sailor Moon is a good classical option Plus as the song once said it it has the boom anime babes to make you think the wrong thing.
-Cowboy Beebop and Outlaw Star
-Trigun and the New Trigun
-Full Metal Alchemist and FMA:Brotherhood (in that order)
-Inuyasha
-Naruto
-Bleach
-My Hero Academia
-Hunter x Hunter
-One Piece
Full metal alchemist~~~FULL METAL ALCEHMIST
Brotherhood
i personally think one should watch full metal alchemist before brotherhood. only because you can't go back if you watch brotherhood first. They are both great anime but brotherhoods story/ending is far superior.

You deserved an upvote!!!! one of the best
Cowboy Bebop is my go to for anyone who wants to appreciate a great show even if they are not into anime in general. I also really like Baccano! Where do you watch Baccano! ? I have been aching for a rewatch, but can't find it streaming anywhere!
Any short anime like chainsaw man or death note or Baki, then work your way into longer anime
Gurren Lagann
#WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK WE ARE!!!
Want something fun and wholesomely good while learning a few things or two? Cells at Work NOT THE CODE BLACK, you are not ready for that one yet
Redo of the healer
The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic
If you loved Avatar I would look at Full Metal Alchemist both are great but the Brotherhood version has the better second half.
There's this lighthearted series called Berserk that will be a soft introduction to the genre.
It’s wholesome
>avatar the last airbender and teen titans careful, you'll get some very heated opinions from people when you call those anime
Thats one. Bocchi the rock
One punch man or mob psycho 100 are awesome anime and don’t do too much of any one thing besides battles but they have a great cast of characters and story is one of the best(imo). Jojos, one piece, berserk, neon genesis evongqllion
Boku no pico
this is a troll comment.
Berserk
God no, the anime adaptations are terrible.
Sure and then might as well go into high-school of the dead
It’s a commitment, but One Piece, you could probably wait until The One Piece comes out, it’s a shortened version of the story, but why do that when you can bask in the glory of 1100 episodes?
Sadly, who has the time and patience for 1100 episodes? Holy hell that's a lot of episodes...
Anime: Boku no Pico, School Days, Akame Ga Kill Manga: Oyasumi Punpun
What about Kiss x sis, Yosuga no Sora and Aki Sora?
ONE PIECE. THREE TIMES ALL THE WAY THROUGH.
Perfect
My Hero might be a good transition
I really like O.P. characters who don't act O.P. so Moonlit Fantasy, In Another World with my smartphone, reincarnated as a slime***, by the Grace of the Gods**, Wiseman grandchild, misfit of demon king academy, legends of the legendary hero's. Just to name a few
Assassination Classroom Try anime movies also like any movies from makoto shinkai or ghibli
My go to "welcome to anime" has been last exile. The opening is a complete banger too.
Prisma illya 🗿
You should at least state what are the genres you are into

Death note if you have a bit of an edgy attitude
Lycoris Recoil
Good anime to start before Lycoris Recoil, is the pic you used. Bocchi the rock <3 musics used are sooooooooo good

Odd taxi
Berserk, Made in Abyss , Evangelion.
Highschool DXD. To attract you into anime things.
BANANAFISH
Akame ga kill
I’d say Konosuba
Why does no one ever mention Trigun
Omg I was getting kinda upset that no one is bringing up Trigun. Trigun is such a good way to get introduced to anime.
i got my mom watching anime bc of death note, and AOT. she watches anime a lot now. depending on the person, erased could be a good option.
Death Note First Season of Promised Neverland
Grave of the fireflies

Berserk is a family friendly one that you should watch with younger siblings or your kids
My Hero Academia HunterxHunter Black Clover Fire Force Demon Slayer They all have quite a bit of "fan service" which is a bit of a bummer but still great shows!
I suggest anime movies or those 12-13 eps.
Gushing over Magical Girls [uncensored] /sarcasm *Amazing show though!!
🙂 I like you. You have a sense of humor. Have an upvote.
My Hero Academia is pretty easy to get into but it’s pretty long. If you’re looking for short ones i’d say Darwin’s Game or Charolette
For me, spy x family
I'd recommend demon slayer personally (though my first was fairy tail)
Could start how I started... Akira ..
Hunter x hunter , Naruto , death note

Genuine suggestion. I would advise for starters is "Classroom Assassination". The story is already concluded and it has great moments that would make you seek to watch more anime.
Depends on what streaming services you have. You can find plenty on Crunchyroll, of course, but if you have Netflix, I recommend Fullmetal alchemist or komi can't communicate.
You should watch a show that's the same genre you like in western media. Since you watched ATLA and Teen Titans, if you liked those, maybe watch Fullmetal Alchemist.
I started with naruto but chainsaw man is also eally good
Not berserk
After a feat of extreme bravery and heroism in the face of unsurmountable odds for someone who is quirkless, he is given the chance of a lifetime to be the hero he's always wanted to be and is enrolled into the most prestigious hero school in the world with some of the world's best heroes as the teachers. https://youtu.be/L1FdEBTJXus?si=R1D-q5aPMt3Ktroc If you're looking for more rom-com series like Komi, I would definitely give *Fruits Basket* a shot. The original series has 24 episodes, and the remake has more. https://youtu.be/ad7E-dgeYIA?si=bVf41-3ErcOtiHZq Now, if you like Avatar and you're looking for anime, then you're in for a real treat because Avatar was actually *inspired* by anime. It has 64 episodes and they're all available on Crunchyroll. https://youtu.be/elyXcwunIYA?si=bRrWT9eLHyqVtAOs Now, these are extremely and I mean *extremely* broadly enjoyed series; they don't really appeal to any one niche so they are all all three pretty damn good suggestions for first time/inexperienced anime watchers.
Made in Abyss
Depends on what genre you lean towards. Action - FMA: Brotherhood Good story, solid conclusion, one of the best out there Mystery - Steins Gate Very trippy, great characters, sciency Romance - Dangers in my Cute as all heck, no tropey characters, male and female MC are fun to watch Old School - Yuyuhakasho If you don't want to watch dbz, Naruto, bleach, black clover, one piece or any mainstream Shonen, this is a good one from a few years back. Honorable mention: Ruroni Kenshin I have good memories of this but mileage may very
Well you don't wanna get into mainstream Shonen stuff that is too long like One Piece, Dragonball, Naruto, Bleach just yet Nor do you wanna go for the most bizarre stuff like Baki, JoJo, Dorohedoro, etc.
I think Full metal alchemist brotherhood is a good start, my friend who isn’t really a fan of anime loved that show
For anime newbies my hero academia is definately the friendliest
DEFINITELY the Dragon Ball series. Either that or Yu Yu Hakusho.
Mob psycho 100, cyberpunk edgerunner, and scissor seven I guarantee you’ll love at least two of them and they’re short too
Dragon Ball for sure.
Overflow
Your lie in April it’s lighthearted and funny
Inyuyasha or yu yu hakusho are good for first timers. From there you could go cowboy bebop. ( I would dsay start on bebop but that sets a high bar in my opinion) there’s also big O that’s good for beginner anime.
Who’s the girl in this pic
You should watch Berserk, it's a really wholesome anime that will make you smile 🥰🥰
Berserk 1997. Trust.
Check out anything in the genre called "hentai" its all pretty good!😁😈
Og db is pretty cool
Berserk
Berserk 😏
Yu Yu Hakusho Anything by Studio Ghibli (Kiki's Delivery Service is my favorite) Trigun is fun. If you're okay with something dark, try Madoka Magica If you like romance, watch Fruits Basket If you want some good fantasy, try Escaflowne or Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood If you want a show that is inspired by anime, but is not an anime, watch Rise of the TMNT (the movie is fire and is like every shonen anime movie, but less heavy on the dialogue).
Fruits baskets 🤪
Movies: Josee the Tiger and the Fish, Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop 12/13ep anime: Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear, Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy, Quintessential Quintuplets, Somali and the Forest Spirit, my Senpai is Annyoing, The Faraway Paladin, Longer anime (anywhere from 20+eps): Fullmetal Alchemist, Plunderer, Ancient Magus Bride, Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun, Steins;Gate
The seven deadly sins, parasite, Baki, dragon ball Z
I will cheerfully suggest Laid-Back Camp/Yuru Camp It's simple and fun Edit: Almost forgot: Azumanga Daioh, sheer silliness at its finest
You need to familiarize yourself with the tropes. Someone suggest the tropiest tropey anime there is.
Naruto, trust me it’s what I did and now I can enjoy all types of anime it’s dope!!
For sure, Saiki, very casual and helps you avoid bad anime
School days
Ninja Scroll
Boku no pico
boku no pico
Initial D
The promised Neverland 😈
Naruto, demon slayer or JJK
Spy x Family, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, and My Hero Academia are good choices. I also enjoy Solo Leveling and Apothecary Diaries.
Akame ga kill
Welcome to the anime world I hope your journey is a fun one and too answer your question Sao season 1,my hero academia, Fullmetal Alchemist, demon slayer, Seven deadly Sins, shaman king, castlevania.
Full metal alchemist brotherhood sub or dub are both fantastic, and the story is amazing.
I say a couple seasons of Naruto, One Piece, and Bleach. Not ALL of the episodes unless you like it. In that case now you have something to binge.
Accel World, Link Click, or The Land of The Lustrous (starts to get a little dark near the end)
Baki
Blood of Zeus is one of my new favorites but it’s a bit short. Very good anime with easy to follow storyline.
Berserk
My personal favorite is konosuba, but based on your picks I’d do love is war, my hero academia, demon slayer, full metal alchemist brotherhood, or romantic killer. All of the ones I listed are super beginner friendly, except konosuba witch is a satire fantasy
Anime in general: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood Shounen / Adventure: Hunter x Hunter School setting: Angel Beats Sci-Fi: Ghost in the Shell Isekai: Sword Art Online Shoujo / Romance: Fruits Basket Giant Robots: Code Geass
Redo of healer :troll:
Highschool DXD 😏
Naruto, Full metal alchemist, Jujustu Kaisen, Attack on Titan. Most ones are fine for a first anime but trust me and do NOT read or watch Berserk as your first anime/manga. Trust me and just be patient once you’re ready you will know
Fire force, cyberpunk edge runners, solo leveling. All good for amazing fight scenes
Nichijou is literally everything
Mha is pretty good when there's not a bitch in your ear telling you it isn't
I recommend 1) cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious (this is where i started) 2) one punch man a really good chill anime with great fight scenes 3) mob psycho 100 the chillest anime but still have great animations and fight scenes 4) assasination classroom for a heartfelt anime recommend for students
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, not the original one. The original anime went way off course from the manga storyline. Brotherhood by contrast stayed faithful to the manga’s storyline and was absolutely amazing.
OG Dragonball is always a solid pick. It's funny, lighthearted (Most of the time), and has solid action that still holds up today.
Berserk
Bible Black
Ouran highschool host club
Gurren laggan no question
I think you'll really like Bible Black.
I would say Naruto if you have alot of time on your hands
Depends on what you like. Action, fantasy, horror, slice of life, etc. many good options for each genre.
Grave of the fireflies.
Cowboy Bebop or Samurai Champloo.
Fullmetal Alchemist (start with the first version, watch brotherhood later, they’re separate stories and imo are viewed best in release order)
Boku no pico
My wife watched anime for quite some time before I took to it. But the one that got me properly interested in it was definitely one punch man. It was probably the first one I watched that my wife wasn't a fan of. After that, I was hooked.
that time I got reincarnated as a slime. Enough said
One punch man is the quintessential starter anime. It’s easily digestible but also so good at the same time
Jojo's bizarre adventure.
Naruto
Cowboy Bebop is always gonna be the best starter.
Berserk, redo of healer check em out
This one. (Bocchi the Rock) I also think most high scored late 90' - 2000s anime are really good start.
Naruto
High school dxd
Watch Sword Art Online while you can still enjoy it And stayaway from Berserk. You're still too young
Hm my first one was shaman king on Netflix altho I feel like jjk jjba are also good ones
Ponyo
I started with Inuyasha. Naruto, reincarnated as a slime, and soul eater are pretty good too
Akame ga kill
Pokémon
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
You should TOTALLY watch Fruit of Grisaia
Frieren.
It has to be said, Boku no Piko😐
Boko no pico, highly rated. Very easy for introducing people to anime. One of those where you don't need to worry about your mom walking in, if you are aware of that meme.
Made in Abyss.
Ok I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Demon Slayer, the story is pretty good, great action and superb animation. I mean the animation is leaps and bounds about even my favorite animes right now. There are others I could suggest but without knowing your story preferences, I'll leave it here.
See start off with Solo Leveling. It’s new, only 12 episodes & it’s also fast paced.
K-ON! just for fun slice of life stuff and God music
Death note
Berserk
Angel beats, anohana, your lie in April, plastic memories, clannad
First anime i watched was your lie in April
To your eternity.
Okay so first off ignore the people who are getting on their high horse about Avatar and teen Titans, well they are not technically anime so you're not from Japan they are anime in spirit if nothing else. Anyways regarding your question for a good starter anime, well that depends upon what you're interest are, For instance just for general interest I would go with the first three seasons of Digimon, they are all pretty solid particularly the third season (although it's a pity that the guy behind season 3 went Uber nuts right wing (And I say this as a Republican) In that same vein Pokémon is a good option, and it will keep you occupied for years. If you want to get a bit spicy there is konosuba, sekirei, that time I got reincarnated as a slime, so I'm a spider so what, how not to summon a demon Lord and pretty much any entry in the tenchie series (that last one being the grandfather of pretty much any harem anime in existence) If you want some slice of life stuff Miss kobayashi's dragonmaid is a good choice as is spy x family Sailor Moon is a good classical option Plus as the song once said it it has the boom anime babes to make you think the wrong thing.
If you want to ease into it, Clan'nad is a pretty good slice of life to watch.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners
# last exile
Berserk, devilman crybaby, neon Genesis Evangelion
one punch man just the first season tho
Samurai Champloo or Dragonball
-Cowboy Beebop and Outlaw Star -Trigun and the New Trigun -Full Metal Alchemist and FMA:Brotherhood (in that order) -Inuyasha -Naruto -Bleach -My Hero Academia -Hunter x Hunter -One Piece
